  • Thanks, IM-ON-TILT. This year's NAPC will take place over a seven-day span compared to five days last year (October 25-29). The dates for the WPT Canadian Open and other two events submitted for approval by Fallsview have not yet been announced.

I want to help organize or participate in a WPT league leading to a seat in October. At the very least, members will become better poker players by WPT time.

I like it, does this site have the members for that though?

Well I figured we'd never find out unless I propsed it...I don't really need to sat into the tournaments to be honest but hell I wouldn't mind meeting some you fellas for a live game haha...

I'm from KW, and I thought this was sarcastic... so in other words... no, I don't think you'll find 20 ppl in KW for a $500 buyin.

    /g2
  • I'm not from KW, but I still wouldn't be in a $500 buy in sat.
  • While a few forum members such as myself played in the $330-$640 WPT Step 2 satellites at Fallsview, I don't think there would be enough forum members interested to have a direct satellite to the $10,000 WPT NAPC. Having a mini-satellite to a WPT Step 2 satellite at Fallsview would be more realistic. Forum members such as 800OVER, Zithal, Ranger, The_Game, Voodoo and I held rake-free mini-satellites, so hopefully these will happen again once Fallsview releases its WPT satellite details. If Fallsview has a super-satellite like other WPT casinos, I will probably participate.
  • Well if you don't have the roll for a 500 sat that's too bad indeed... I see fellas running them in North York which is just a hassle of a drive on bad weather days of winter... haha

I personally know at least 5 people that would play a $500 freezeout sat without issues to their roll...You just never know...
  • id play a 650 buy in 20 people 1st got the seat to the wpt 2 to 4th got 650 and 5th got the rest
  • does anyone know the details? are there really 4 events or just 2 which is the CPO and NAPC?
  • The WPT season 6 has 19 stops now and the dates for the Fallsview stop is October 26/07 - November 02/07. Still no word on how many events they will have at Fallsview but I assume just the CPO and NAPC is a go.
  • I wonder why the the NAPC was changed from October 7-13 to October 26 - November 2.

So that we can dress up and say trick or treat at the tables.
  • Has anyone heard when satellites for these tournaments will start?

The satellites for the 2007 NAPC will begin in June, most likely the last week.
  • Thanks, 13CARDS. Will there be multi-qualifier super-satellites this year?

  • Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack
  • This years event has been quite a battle at times, with a lot of variables in play at times. Nonetheless, the good news is that the World Poker Tour is back in Canada for 2007, and we are hoping bigger than 2006. Dates were moved for a number of reasons, including the addition of events in other countries, which also caused scheduling conflicts here at Fallsview. Due to space and timing, we will have only the North American Poker Championship this year, which I understand will be a disappointment for some whose bankroll may not allow a $10K event. In order to help to compensate somewhat, we will be offering our satellites for 18 weeks this year, as opposed to the 8 weeks we ran them last year. The satellite program will be the exact same, except you start with about 20% more chips this year than in 2006.

    Step 1
    $90 ($73 + $17) Single table.
Winner receives a Step 2 $640 satellite voucher entry, second receives a replay satellite voucher entry at $90 level.
$1000 in starting tournament chips, 10 minute blind levels.
    Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.
The 2006 winner qualified from a Step 1 satellite.

    Step 2
    $640 ($607 + $33) Two table.
Winner receives a Main Event entry, second receives a $1,200 satellite voucher entry, and third receives a replay satellite voucher at $640 level.
$2,500 in starting tournament chips, 20 minute blind levels.
    Fridays.

    Step 3
    $10,300 Main Event Entry.
Payment accepted includes cash, Visa, Mastercard, Markers, Certified Cheque, Bank Draft, or entry voucher obtained through satellite.
$20,000 in starting tournament chips, 90 minute blind levels.
    October 26th.
    - OR -

    Step A
    $160 ($136 + $24) Single table.
Winner receives a Step B $1,200 satellite voucher entry, second receives a replay satellite voucher entry at $160 level.
$1,200 in starting tournament chips, 15 minute blind levels.
    Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Two 2006 final table players qualified from a Step A satellite.

    Step B
    $1,200 ($1,150 + $50) Single table.
Winner receives a Main Event entry, second receives a replay satellite voucher at $1,200 level.
$3,000 in starting tournament chips, 30 minute blind levels.
    Saturdays.

    Step C
    $10,300 Main Event Entry.
Payment accepted includes cash, Visa, Mastercard, Markers, Certified Cheque, Bank Draft, or entry voucher obtained through satellite.
$20,000 in starting tournament chips, 90 minute blind levels.
    October 26th

Buy-in at any level, or work your way up.

We are aiming for a June 15th start date for the satellites, pending approvals. We have also submitted for lower limit multi-table tournaments, not WPT, to run concurrently with the WPT satellites every Sunday to Thursday at 2pm and 8pm, pending approvals. The MTT's could start as early as June 11th.
  • The info is much appreciated, thanks Fallsview!
  • Is there any reason why you would hold the 160 single table and the 1200 single table satellites on different days? I think it would be beneificial for having these satellites running on the same days if there is enough interest ofcourse to fill the table. This way the out of towners don't have to make multiple trips in case they do quailify for step B. I think a flexible schedule would work better. Thanks for the info fallsview and you guys do run a great card room.
  • Thanks for the comment on the room Chip. If you run more than one type of satellite in the same day there is generally not enough demand to fill both. We run the 90 and 160's on Sundays just because of sheer volume on those days, and also wanted to have lower entry sat's on weekends, not just weekdays. If we were to run the 160 and 1200's on the same day, we would have trouble filling the 1200's other than late at night because people would simply play the 160's all day with the thought that they could play the 1200 later in the day. I kept the 640 and 1200's on Fri/Sat because those are the days when the "bigger" games come into play therefore we were about 50/50 cash and voucher buy-ins - we didn't have to rely simply on 90/160 winners. What we found last year from the out-of-town patrons was that they would play the 90/160 sats all day, try to win multiple seats, then come back on a Fri/Sat with multiple vouchers and play those all day. Hope this helps to explain...
  • I agree...I think the demand would be there too. I played in all of the different sattelite levels at Fallview and in the last week or so before the tourney....you couldn't even get a seat for the single table ME sattelite.

Any update on the above start dates for the STT & MTT sats?
  • Satellites will start Monday June 25th at Noon, seven days a week until the event in October. MTT's, no word yet.
  • is there only going to be sattelite tourny at noon everyday or is there going to be multiple tourny's a day???

Satellites are SNG. starting at noon and running all day (with the last single table starting no later than 2am)
  • id play a 650 buy in 20 people 1st got the seat to the wpt 2 to 4th got 650 and 5th got the rest

Your math is almost as good as your spelling.

    $650 x 20 = $13,000

    1st- $10,300
    2nd- $650
    3rd- $650
    4th- $650
    5th- $750
  • hey Fallsview or 13cards,

are the seat vouchers tranferable? in other words, can they be sold to another player?
