Hmmm...I've played with that guy many times @ 20/40, 30/60 & 50/100 at BCC. He's pretty good...didn't realize he was a CPT superstar.
BTW, I'll be there on Friday evening from about 5pm to 3am playing the biggest game there...I'll be wearing a black & blue fleece top + jeans. It would be nice to meet someone from this forum. My friend Larry (who co-authored a hold'em book: http://www.amazon.ca/Limit-Holdem-Short-Handed-Strategies-Techniques/dp/1904468373) will be there with me.
Last week, when he was at my table, I was telling Brian that someone liked his hat. One of his buddies was making fun of him being "famous", saying, "Hey Brian, you're now a D-list celebrity".
Playing 20/40 at my table last night, albeit for only an hour or so, was WSOP Main Event runner-up, Tuan Lam.
Nice guy. I'd met him before, and money/fame hasn't changed him.
The first pot he was in, he lost at showdown, and he said, "always second best".
Of course, when he was in a pot, there were a few guys at the table who did their best to take him off his hand, so they could say they won a pot against him.

Haha, unfort. I was being slightly sarcastic
I'm just a little fish though, so he can wear whatever he wants

I've been playing with Brian J in 50/100 games at Brantford during this past year and yes he is a very good TAG player. His hand reading ability and player profiling others at the table is superb. I've seen him make laydowns where I would ask myself afterwards - "could I have made that laydown?" One thing about him I find that makes him a very good player is his temperment - very "phil ivey" like.
He rarely plays 20-40 nowadays - too small for him since he's got a huge roll now. Heard he's shooting 200-400 on stars.
He also took 1st on stars sunday warmup recently so this past year has just been crazy for him. Nice guy and good to see him doing well.
With the boost to my bankroll, my biggest decision is to sit 5/10 again or have a fun 2/5 session...
Regardless it's likely I'll be at the BCC from about 6:30 to 2 am.. Will answer to the name 'Fernando'.. Likely wearing my black fubu (fb on the front) hat.
I am heading to Niagara Falls for the day. I expect to spend some time at Fallsview during the day and probably head for Niagara for the evening. My good friend Alan Smithee will be there too for the weekend. Hope to see some forumers there.
Isn't the Taipan bus to Rama free all month? I wanted to try Rama's 2/5 this month, but it's so time-consuming compared to going to Fallsview/Seneca.
There were a couple of Skill Level 6 tournaments this afternoon, but I couldn't wake up on one hour's sleep so I might head to a Niagara area casino later today.
I am heading to Fallsview and maybe Senneca today, possibly staying tonight and playing again tomorrow. Look for the guy with the Corona Extra hat with the bottle opener on the brim. I will be playing 1-2 NL and maybe 2-5. Say hi if you are there.
a nice tossed salad complete with creamy cucumber on top...
Mmmmm, I'm getting hungry! Does it come with the special sauce? >:D
I phoned a friend who was already on his way to Seneca Casino. I just phoned a forumer who was in the middle of a hand at Fallsview - sorry if your winning hand was ruled dead! I'm getting an insatiable urge to drive to NF tonight or tomorrow. Anybody else planning to play at the "salad bar at the MENSA convention" aka Fallsview? Has anybody ever taken Casino Coach tour from Oakville or Burlington on Wednesdays?

Which has got to be +EV for him
Haha. Wasn't implying you were serious, but thought it would be a fun thing to mention to him.

Yes, and for the rest of the us at the table. :-)

Ooh ooh. Maybe me too.

Playing 5/10 or 2/5.
(For zunni, I have a red and blue card protector)

Will complete a trip report when I get back.
Unfortunately... I neither have my ATM hat nor my skirt from RCV
Guess I'll have to get by on wit and personality.... dammit
Mark
Just bring a jar of vaseline for a card protector, or maybe grab a bag of those free condoms and use one of those.
Found some "personality".... if anyone's coming by, I'll be the (probably loud) dude playing in the "I MISS JOHNNY CASH" t-shirt
Mark
Guess you don't have casual Friday's at the office
PM me if you want to meet up/carpool
You might find me across the ditch tonight if I can swing it.
At the MENSA convention?
At a salad bar?
No no no. You're getting it wrong. Kristy is the one who prefers the tossed salad and creamy cucumber. It fits her vegetarian lifestyle.
