  • Great poker as always! Nice to meet a bunch of you forum members, especially blondefish who busted me out because I kept stealing his big blinds. I'll be back, next time I'll be sober! Hey Shops, freakin great action man! Can't believe my bodyguard Garry busted out first in only 6 mins! DAM!

    Thanks again Brent and Cam!
  • if you're gonna run a piece of shit tournament than advertise it as such.

    Holy Christ Princess..relax!
    It was a $65 tournament with 70ppl.

Thank you Brent for a very well run tournament and a lot of fun...I bubbled and still had a great time, even if the queen of England 'did not approve'!

I'm waiting to hear about how Janet destroyed all you sharks after I busted out!

  • I'll leave you with this simple yet effective statement:

    STEP YOUR MOTHERFUCKIN' GAME UP!!!

    Have a nice day! :)

wow Mike.... Mommy didn't make you breakfast? This is your first post in the forum? I'd like to say welcome to the forum, however I think you need to chill and take your own advise dude.
  • This was the BIGGEST crock of shit poker "tournament" (I use the term VERY loosely) i've ever been to in my life. First of all it was in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere...literally in a forrestry area with ppl having a camp fire like 20 feet away. I walk in the place and it smelled like shit, as expected I guess considering the location. Come to find out this "poker club" doesn't even have one goddamn real poker table. But wait, it gets worse once you find out that YOU, yes you have to deal for yourself. That's right folks, a "poker club" with no poker tables and no dealers, oh wait...they were nice enough to offer a dealer for the final table...wow

Needless to say I didn't enter this piece of shit tourney...i'm sorry...maybe that's how it's done in Kitchener...but not anywhere else i've been. I don't knock anybody for trying to do their thing. But if you're gonna run a piece of shit tournament than advertise it as such. Maybe something like this would've worked "65$ PIECE OF SHIT Freeze-out tourney in Kitchener...NO DEALERS, GARBAGE TABLES"...Atleast that way we know what were getting.

I'll leave you with this simple yet effective statement:

Where oh where was it ever professed to be a "poker club"? Nobody ever implied that you would be playing in The Bellagio North, nor did anyone say you would have (for the low sum of $65) professional dealers. It wasn't a "campfire" they were burning off the branches from the trees they were cutting down, and maybe the smell was coming from you, I didn't notice any off odour, except for the few times where I let a fluffer go.

Don't try to put a downer on one of the best run tournaments ever put on by and for members of this forum. Brent and Cameron run the absolute best tournaments I have been to. Smoothly run, started on time, affordable buy ins, great skilled poker players, and a nice comfortable club to do it all in and spend a nice Saturday afternoon.

I just have a simple question for you.

If you didn't even enter this "piece of shit tourny" then why the hell did you drive all the way out to "butt fuck nowhere"?

    Hmmmmm?
  • Come to find out this "poker club" doesn't even have one goddamn real poker table. But wait, it gets worse once you find out that YOU, yes you have to deal for yourself. This aint Hollywood or TV land, real world games involve real world locations and set ups..... yes some are better than others, but if it truly was the atmosphere that turned you away, how does that speak for your level of gameplay? Intimidated? I think so, hell , if you were half as good as some of the people I was pleased to play against, you may have had a chance.....but you turned and walked away.....sorry for ya!

Anyways, Brent, nice meeting you and some of the other guys and gals ( didn't get many names but faces are noted...lol ) that were in attendance.
I did fairly well considering some of the early loose play I was forced to witness and suffer losses to, all in all, I had a great time and will not hesitate to go to another event you may host, time permitting of course. I gained alot of valuable game and player info for future events....had a blast man.

  • Brent

    This is Coach Jr.

Had a great time for my first cash tournament with a 6th place finish.
I actually liked the tables - I think I am going to pick up curling learning how to slide those cards in there.

Thank you to Brent for a great blind structure

    I will be back

    Coach Jr. AKA Luc
  • hmmm...If maniac didn't like the atmosphere, how the hell did he know that there would be a dealer for the final table.

Sounds like someone who lost a bunch of $$$ to Josh at 2/4NL...LOL

Me, I'd prefer a bigger prize pool than sending some $$$ to dealers.

Great day, actually made enough in the 1/2 game to make the day a freeroll.

    See ya next time.
  • hmmm..hobbes does this tourney apply for our last longer bet..or do I have to wait for the next stars tourney? ;)

Next stars touney which should be fun.
    I think it's a HU tourney.

Would you prefer that or a regular NL game?

    tough call..I've never played a HU tourney before...but I'm WAY OVERCONFIDENT ;)

I guess I'll hold out for reg NL if that's allright with you?

Did we play at any of the same tables yesterday? I was the girl with the dark hair, blk shirt and shitty jeans?
  • Ok. Next reg tourney then (Dec 12th), which means one of us will be owned till after Christmas, cause I'm going away...lol

We weren't at the same table, but I remember seeing you.

IM-ON-TILT, didn't you know that you should not bluff a FISH - especially a BlondeFish! ;) Sorry about busting you and your "paré" (bro) Garry. After flopping a King-high flush on his very first hand, there were a whole series of bets until Garry ended up all-in on the river. There was only one hand that could beat him, and I had flopped the Ace-high flush!

Unfortunately for me, WSPC did not use bounty chips for the first time. Otherwise, I would already have had four bounty chips before the first break, along with being chip leader with almost 40,000 chips. After 4 blind levels, there were 55 players left out of 70, and the average stack was 12,727. After my table was broken up, I was sandwiched between two aggressive sharks, who would later end up in the final table - Kristy Sea and Ken(?).

At the second break, it was time to eat the pizza we ordered. Thanks, Dr. Tyore! I had fallen below the average stack of 22,580 with 31 players left. Half of the players in my next table were women, all with huge stacks (chip stacks, I mean ;) ).

The final table of 9 players included Kristy Sea, IM-ON-TILT, coach (Jr.), Al (of WSPC) and me. I can leave it up to The Prophet 22 to post the final table details, unless people want me to post them now.

    Have a nice day! :)

FIRST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE???
SECOND Brent and Cam put alot into these tournements.

If you want a professional poker game go to the wsop of poker .. or something like that. By the sounds of it, Most of us would not want you at our home games anyway. We may not be good enough for you. There is alot of very nice people on this forum and at these home games. That you have insulted. I go to Kitchener all the time to play poker with these people. Never have I not been welcomed and have not enjoyed myself playing.

You need to get off your high horse. The westside poker club. Is held at that location due to more then what you think.. IF only you had asked the right people the right questions about it before you even went.

To bad, you feel the way you do, All these people out in Kitchener/Waterloo area, and those who travel to play there are really great people and all put on great home games. I personally hope never to meet you. THis is not a way for a new member or new anyone to meet and get to know people who play poker.

To bad about your luck, cause it does sound like you did play there and lost lots of money. Now you are pissed because of that. IF that is not the case. and you really feel this way about westside. I suggest you go play in the underground clubs and not bother coming to any of the home games or other venues we have.

As to your comment of :
    STEP YOUR MOTHERFUCKING GAME UP!!!

WHY DONT YOU GET A MOTHERFUCKING LIFE!!!!!
  • Hey blondefish,

no apoligies needed! It was a great game, although I shud have played better poker considering my huge chip lead with 7 players left! Anyhow, it was the polish beer to blame...all 9 bottles, but hey thats no excuse! Please post the details, I remember you taking notes. by the way...how far did you make it in the CPO...you said your last hand was pocket 9's? I'm anticipating your gonna be at the next tourney on the 9th? See you at the final table!
  • My last reply...to the idiot who said I was intimidated all I have to say is "AHAHAHAHAH" please...I drove out to the tournament cause I thought it'd be legit. I don't care if it's only 65$, you get real goddamn dealers or otherwise it's no different than a drunken house game.

To the person that said "who advertised it as a poker club?"...probably the same idiot as mentioned above...READ THE POST FUCKFACE...It says "West Side Poker CLUB"...

It was unprofessional, plain and simple. I don't care if the blinds were "friendly" and the guys and gals were "nice". I'm there to play poker, with real poker tables and real goddamn dealers. That's how it is at any other "poker club" I play at. And at the very least, that's what I expect.

LMAO at "burning branches"...ok buddy, I'll let you know the next time I see people "burning branches" the next time i'm at one of my local poker clubs/rooms.

    END.
  • I noticed you didn't have the guts to tell me what you thought yesterday, and seeing as you keep reading this thread all day let me say this and your only two post have been about our tournament, what does that say about you.

If you had any kind of game at all, you would have said something to me yesterday. Obviously you kept tabs on the day, other wise how would you have known about the dealer at the final.

You think you are so good and beneath our tournament, I have a challenge for me if you have the guts to PM so I can return the PM to you because I notice you can do that right now. Just say so in the reply to the post and I will get your prevledges turned on for a day, otherwise, back off.

    Put up or shut up.

Typical kid with no guts, no class, and definitely no idea of the "real" world.... Brent/Cam put on a good game with great people for the "average" part time player. This is not Vegas, but it's also a heck of a lot less expensive. Grow up child, and if you ever do get to Vegas, they will eat you alive in a real game.... Trust me, we've seen thousands of your kind before, all talk with NOTHING to back it up. So how much did you lose on Saturday? You can pm me on the side, I won't tell........ hehehe

Is that all you got? I'm an idiot? LMAO, whatever man, at least I had the balls to get into the mix and handle bad beats and good wins without acting like a 19 year spoiled brat. You want dealers, you pay for them. 65 bucks was a decent price a game of that size less dealers. If I was paying 100 bucks or more I might expect dealers, but in this case, you seem to be the only one with grudge about the event.
Grow up, or is that beyond your rhealm of comprehension?

  • A special invitation for FuckfacelikeMatusow.......

    West Side Poker Club
    Presents

Here's how it is going to work. There is no re-buys and no add-ons. (Except of course for Mike, he is obviously allowed as many rebuys and add ons as he sees fit, we MUST impress him)

    • Walk-ins will pay 75.00 (Suckers)
    • Each player will receive 10 000 chips (Mike will receive 50,000, just cuz)
    • Blinds will go up every 20 minutes The goal is to end the tournament between 9:30 and 10:30 pm, although we will have the hall till midnight.
    • We will be looking to payout the top 10% players. (Mike will still get paid for his time, whether he makes the cash or not. $300 per hour for his appearance)

The date will be Saturday November 18, 2006. The doors open up at 11:00 am. Shuffle up and deal will be at 12:00 pm. We have room for 120 people. As always there will be a 2/4 NL ring game available with a min buy in of 60.00 and a max buy in of 300.00 (Mike will grace us with his presence and of course be given a starting roll of $5000)

    Your ever humble poker patrons,

    Cameron and Brent
    Westside Poker Club
  • Now that's a great example of why I love this place... Nice one MDS...
me thinks "FuckfacelikeMatusow" gets pwned...... Maybe if we could get im to come to a future event we could all contribute $5. to put a big bounty on his head? Now that would make it interesting! Can I request his table?
  • LOL Compuease

Question is would he show up. we may not be good enough for him.

    YOU SAID:
(My last reply...to the idiot who said I was intimidated all I have to say is "AHAHAHAHAH" please...I drove out to the tournament cause I thought it'd be legit. I don't care if it's only 65$, you get real goddamn dealers or otherwise it's no different than a drunken house game.)

Ok dude Mike, Westside is more legit, then some poker rooms/clubs, I have been to. As Brent stated in the beginning of this thread. It is a home game gone large. NO one I know can fit 65 to 100 something people in there home.
As for dealers, I have yet to see real dealers at some of these pokerclubs/rooms, If that is what you are calling real dealers, you need to get a life.. Dont get me wrong some of them are good, but not all.. LIke i said before go to play somewhere else and keep to you poker clubs/rooms.

That statement right there, I beleive you are now trying to put down this forum. Maybe you are the FUCKFACE and should be banned or have some action taken against you. I dont think you should be puttin so many people down dude. Your not making any body really want to out to a home game.

(It was unprofessional, plain and simple. I don't care if the blinds were "friendly" and the guys and gals were "nice". I'm there to play poker, with real poker tables and real goddamn dealers. That's how it is at any other "poker club" I play at. And at the very least, that's what I expect.)

Whats up with you dude, Have you ever played at any tournement with more the 40ish people. These are friendly and nice people. But very competative.
If that is what you want dont bother coming out to future events. Go to your little backroom clubs with there so called real dealers and tables, and stay there. Till you grow up and realize, that there is more to life then ragging on everyone becuase you were not happy with something. GET OVER IT ALREADY..

And as for BURNING BRANCHES.. YOU HAVE BURNED ENOUGH...

Although i do agree with Compuease. big bounty on your head if you would dare to show up to a game.
  • Lemme clear some things up real quick...I DIDN'T play nor lose at the tournament...the reason I know things like they were having a dealer at the final table is cause I heard someone say it.

I guess I am asking to much though, you know actual poker tables and real dealers(professional or otherwise)...lol

Have I been tournaments with over 100 players...yes. When I went they had dealers and poker tables. The name of the place is "The Training Room".

That's the type of shit i'm used to. I think there are ppl who would like to play at the West Side Poker Club, and that's fine...it's just not for me.

And as for BURNING BRANCHES.. YOU HAVE BURNED ENOUGH... - AcidJoesHoe

I think you mean bridges douche.
  • ok dude
callin me a douche is going a little to far ..

As for the comment about burning branches I knew what i was typing .. IF you read your post about the branch burning at the polish hall.

And Maybe If you would have asked more questions, before going to this tournement you would not be getting so much crap for it. I would and will any day of the week stick up for Brent and Cam. or any other memeber on this forum. If someone or anyone was bashing how poeple on here do things.

It really is to bad you feel the way you do, because if you are a relatively good player you could make some money playing in these kinds of tournements.. Maybe you need to broaden your horizons. The players on this forum have lots of very good games going. But with you attitude about must having real tables and real dealers you would not enjoy going out to any of these things. As for the real tables, If you enjoy the game and like to play, does it really matter what you play on. And as I said before if you want real dealers and not have to tax yourself to deal cards then by all means stick to your clubs/rooms.

Maybe If you had given it a chance and played the tournement you may have changed your mind. But I guess, with a mind the size of a pea, you would not be able to do that.

Since you dont even know me, I will let the douche commet go. Good luck with your game.
  • The Westside tourney on Saturday was well-run and the competition was great. Thanks guys ! See you again.

Be careful there...some people might take offence to that! :D

As far as this thread goes. Points have been made, disagreements are all part of a discussion. However, personal insults will not be tolerated. This is a warning towards anymore personal attack. Feel free to state your opinion, but anymore personal attack beyond this point will result in a warning/banning.
  • Have I been tournaments with over 100 players...yes. When I went they had dealers and poker tables. The name of the place is "The Training Room".

Did you ever ask what sort of rake, ie vig that you were paying at the now defunct training room? Been there and I would hardly hold it up as an example of professionalism, lol. Now if you had said as compared to a Vegas tournament at the Ballagio or Caesars I may have given you some credit but the Training Room, come on!

    My last reply...
    END.

I thought that was your last reply, How come your still here?

Sorry Wes, didn't see your post until after I posted...... Apologies, and you are right, some, not looking in any particular direction, may take offence to the 19 year old comment.... lol......
  • I can say, from personal experience, that I have played many tournaments for various buy-ins at The Crown Casino - and every tournament was self dealt until the final table.

I think you mean bridges douche.

Webster's defines a 'club' as (2. a group of persons organized for a social, literary, athletic, political, or other purpose: They organized a computer club.)

Saying it is false to advertise this place as a club because there are no dealers or tables just shows how narrow-minded you are. I am pretty sure Westside is a poker club, a great one at that; where a group of people get together and play a solid level of poker and have a great time. I understand that you probably saw a game of poker being played on ESPN and figured for $65 it would be cool to sit at a table with pocket cams and dealers in cute little bowties. Unfortunately for you, the Westside tournament was probably a bumpy trip to reality and thus, you berated the people who work hard to run this great tournament every month.

If you had serious issues you could have manned up and talked to the tournament director face to face. But instead you hide behind your keyboard like a bitch and shit talk without revealing who you are. I don't know what is more sad, a guy who has an ego too big to play some of the best poker in southern ontario because there are no dealers; or a guy who hides in his house, pissing off and insulting a community without identifying himself.

I can't imagine what your friends must think of you. Maybe in highschool being anonymous and starting shit on the internet was cool, but are you not embarassed? Seriously, think about it. When you wake up and look in the mirrior what the fuck do you see? A man? Do you see the person your parents would be proud to call a product of their love? I doubt it. You are probably so filled with self loathe and inner hate that message board gangstering is an outlet that allows you to be everything you are not; confident, witty, sarcastic and brash.

If Westside isn't for you and if you didn't have the guts to complain in person when you were at the tournament, shut your mouth. Let us be. Let us do what we do and stop wasting our time. If you think you've got game, pm me and we'll set something up, you bitch.
