Haddon, I think the only issue here is that you left it to within 48 hrs from the start of the event to finally admit you weren't coming back. Despite your efforts, it would have been more respectful to your team, and the other teams in the event, to withdraw a week in advance given that you were still unsure if you could make it at that point in time.

Funny, nowhere in there did I see an apology for to his team for ditching them. Hmmm... I musta missed it.
Things come up at the last minute (trust me I know) but to be uncertain that about your ability to take part (with most indicators leaning towards not) and then waiting till 48 hours before you confirm your non-attendance is just plain selfish. This was one of the reasons so many people took a pass on this Haddon kid to start and I personally feel bad for Jeremy and the team who decided to give him a chance. Â In previous posts Josh claimed he was actually talking to the embassy and border crossing, so it's not necessarily that he waited till the last minute to back out. Â Is it at all possible that he found out last minute after 2 weeks of trying to make arrangements? Â Nobody is complaining about Andrew or Cam or Waterloo's player, but Josh is getting the book thrown at him. Â Is it possible that previous bad blood is causing a knee-jerk reaction to him while "friends" are being given the courtesy of "that sucks, but we'll work it out". Â Maybe Josh did screw up and leave it too late, I really have no "special inside knowledge", I just saw lots of "Josh sucks" without any questions first like "why Josh?". Â I do sympathize with the team who has lost a player and been left in the lurch, but why is Josh the only one of the 4 being grilled. Â It can't be the "less than 48 hours" because only Andrew gave prior notice. Â (and this is meant with no disrespect to the other guys who can't make it). In response to your comments Trevor, I think the difference between Andrew, Kyle and Cam are that Cam and Kyle have serious life commitments that involve going to the hospital while Andrew did give plenty of notice. Â They cannot be faulted or lumped together with Josh. Â
