Okay, okay. How about this one:

No posting entire tournament reports which somehow involve monkeys before the tournament is over. ;)

  • I totally forgot about the tournament being today

    Can't wait...
  • I'm feeling lucky again today!!! Let me apologize in advance for hitting all my 2 outers on the river. Sorry fellas, better luck next time.

Man, did I call it or did I call it. Not only did I lose, I went out first! WTG aces!!!

  • GG everyone. Congrats to Gizmo and Scotty for 1st and 2nd respectively. Some good cards. Had fun. I clawed back a smidgen of respect after last week with a 3rd. lol :)
  • Thanks again to SirBry for organizing these, and congrats DJEP and MickeyGizmo, and gg everyone. Had a great time, and caught some nice cards.

IIRC, SirBry mentioned possibly changing *all* the tournaments to limit holdem because it's his favorite format. ;) Oh yeah, IIRC, Niagara is getting a poker room too.

I was lucky to not get involved in a hand with Sloth after he moved to our table. He was wasn't playing with any fear at all, and you just never knew what his hole cards were based on his betting patterns. Could have been any two at any time.

  • A great game to all.

A special congrats to everyone who beat me......again.

    As always, tonnes of fun!
    -Bry.
  • Sloth's all-in strategy was pure madness. The guy's a maniac.

    LMAO

I think he simply didn't have the right pot-odds to continue with the hand.

    Nice try, Satan ;)

See you at the next event!

  • Another highlight:

esool drops by to watch the proceedings. After watching for *at least* 10 minutes, he asks "how come the minimum bet doubles on the turn in this tournament, but not in the other ones?"

It was a limit tournament. I guess he thought everyone was playing really scared.

    ROFLMAO

You didn't think I was serious did you?:lol: Remember I'm the funny guy... :? :D
  • Lol, to be honest I'm not sure. Either way, it was frickin' hilarious. Thanks for finally showing up!

  • I think one of the funniest things about this is that the casino I usually play at actually *does* double the minimum bet on 4th and 5th street in their NL tournaments and NL cash game.

    What da!?

Well, it's rarely a good idea to be making minumum bets (or 2*BB bets part the flop) anyway in NL.

If he thought we were playing NL, what did Esool take us for? A bunch of slack-jawed California pros?

    [I can't get over that line...] 8)

  • I think it's almost as funny that so many of us are still all worked up from the tourney and still screwing around surfing the forum!
  • Great playing by all. And no wonder it took 45 minutes for the first person to be eliminated. Was it Limit. i thought it was NL the entire time!
  • Oh wow, I got 1 month to learn Stud. I will be skipping the NLHE tourney and try to build my bankroll while mastering stud in a month. Good luck to me :)

Edit: Will it be NL or Limit Stud?
  • Limit. Stud is rarely played NL.

    ScottyZ
  • Wooo Hoooo!!!

First... a big thank-you to SirBry for organizing all these tourneys... and *cough* getting that leaderboard up!! ;)

Congrats to Scotty and DJP... and a special thanks to all you railbirds for the comedy...

Just a few quick notes... I thought Scotty played great and was worried when he got the chip lead (he's a poker god after all). DJP was at my table from the start and played very well from the outset. He was the force at our table from the start and I was always concerned when he was in any pot with me. I was fortunate to flop a set against him at good time.

I thought the level of play was alot better than regular tournaments online and that speaks volumes about this forum and its particapants.

I'm looking forward to the next tourney... but I claim bragging rights until then... and fair warning... I plan to be the first to win 2!!!

For arguments sake   lets say I was serious....It was very hard to watch the cards and keep up with the continuous chat, not to mention my two finger typing while staring at the keys and talking on the cell..

I don't know how you guys can concentrate on the cards and chat to that extent.....All I know is that I am already registered for the next tourney so even if I am late again I am all in!
  • Thank you Giz. I'm humbled. I've never been called "the force" before. lol

I am really looking forward to these future tourneys. Both as a way of advancing the camaradary of the forum members, and also the experience gained by playing a better class of player than usual. It also doesn't hurt to attract new members either. (Anybody notice how I slid in a plug for the forum, telling him to post here when that guy asked how to setup a tourney? lol)

Tuesdays also have a purpose now. They are not just the day between Monday and hump day anymore. lmao
  • Congrats Mickey! Is the next even going to be limit or no-limit hold'em?
  • Congrats Mickey! Is the next even going to be limit or no-limit hold'em?

Hellmuth, I post the details of each tourney in the 'Online Poker Talk' thread, see: http://pokerforum.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=837
  • Next one is No-Limit!

and to DJP... I meant to ask last night... what timezone is earth in??? lol

I was up well past my bed time... I don't mind since we're trying to accommodate all but I went to bed at 12:30 and got up this morning at 6:10. (I got 2 small ones... 8 months and 3.5 yrs) and I'm wasted.

    Hmmm... This was me. :?:

Maybe we should put a "sticky" on the leaderboard thread...
  • Mickey, you braggart! ;)

LMAO reading through the tourney transcript...I still cannot believe the action at our table early...GoodLord!

all_aces: "i'm a calling station in limit holdem"
scottyZ: "yeah, you're a *raising* station it seems"

    or:

scottyZ (preflop raise with a pair of 2s): "the nut"
    all_aces: "at that moment"

A great time again all. Looking forward to the next tourney!

The conversation alone is worth reading the transcript
  • Hee hee... I need a reason to gloat a litlle. I took a beating on Saturday in the "real" world. Met a guy named Tony that had 50% of Al Crux from the WSOP. Not comforting to hear during a no-limit game. He had some sweet moves himself and I was on the receiving end of one.

Your table was a chatter box alright... we were a morgue compared to that. I had your table open but gave up trying to follow all the dialog.

Definately a friendly atmosphere and that's what counts. Wait 'til I win the next one... there'll be "no-limit" to my boasting!! 8)
