Just so ya know, Rob... shopsy is on the list AND on the waiting list.
Thanks fo catching that! I got the message from Dave which has one more on the list. In addition the Milton Crew can't make it out, so the waiting list looks a little different than it did.
Wed. morning update: Our Player of the Year'05 is sick as a dog, so he's had to back out. Ercules is now in with Shtebs next in line.
Update #2: It's slippery out there!! Please be careful out there when driving over and allow yourself a little extra time tonight.
Aimee and I are coming however I expect a 2hr + drive if the snow comes like it's fore cast. Could you PM me a phone number so I can call if we are running late.
London is getting hammered with snow today, so the likelyhood of me making it is not great. I will post closer to gametime, in case the weather breaks, to let you know my final intentions.
Trevor's also had to drop out which means Mandy is in and there's one open spot in the tournament. I'm guessing, due to the weather that there may be one or two more open before we get started tonight.
I am really sorry Rob, but I have to also bail. Something came up at work and I have to keep working tonight. I was really looking forward to the freezeout and having someone actually respect one of my all-in moves!
My god did I over play AK on my way out...worst I've ever played but as always a fun and well run event. It was fun to watch STP figure out everyones hole cards, man he can read people? Now if I can just stop making stupid mistakes I'll be fine
p.s. Mario, I'm all-in blind first two hands Saturday!!!!! Any callers?
How could have I played this hand differently – or did I just get unlucky?
BTW – Great game as always Zithal.
Ok.
Blinds are 150/300 Ante 50
I have just over 2k.
The Hand:
I am BB with a 23o.
Folded around.
SB calls.
I check.
Flop: 2 Q 3 rainbow.
SB: Checks; I Check.
I figured I only have 2k in chips with the blinds and Antes killing me – I need to find a way to double up – and this is an excellent opportunity. I check to let Flint catch up.
Turn: A
SB checks; I bet 400.
I bet out to induce a re-raise – figuring even if he didn’t have the Ace he could reraise me to fold. It works, he re-raises me All-in. I call.
I have two pair; He hit is Ace for a single pair.
River: Q
My two pair is counterfeited and I am now stuck playing the board.
In different situations I would have jammed earlier with a low two pair – realizing the chances of counterfeiting. But with the blinds and antes increasing I needed a double up hand and on the flop this seemed like my opportunity.
Just looking for some insight as to how others would have played this?
Should I have jammed when I hit to pair to take down the 1000 already in the pot?
Or was I right to induce the all-in and to attempt a take down of a 5000 pot?
Comments
Thanks

Yes, absolutely. He had 8 outs with one card to come (2*A, 3*Q, 3*his kicker), I don't see how you could have skipped that opportunity.
Hey, I least I didn't hit a two outer against you like I did Jeremy.
It all came back when Tye's 7 2 took out my A5.
Eric I call.
