  • So......I have a rail !

    wooohoooo

    Who you going with ?
  • I will give you one that may help you with your pizza issues. Go to Secret Pizza not for a meal, just grab a slice when you need a little mid day snack.

Please try try a pizza with friggin MEAT on it Pepperoni or Meatball are both good.

what types of food do you want to try there ? Give me some types and I will give some suggestions.
  • I eat everything. I'm asking about both cheap good food and nice restaurants. Steak, seafood, pizza, burgers, what have you. I'm interested in anything delicious.

I'm going down with the gf. She gets to shop while I hopefully win enough to cover (her) expenses.
  • Get the myvegas game on Facebook and start spinning.

These are the versions you need for max chips:
    Myvegas Facebook
Konami slots Facebook or mobile (chips are shared)
    Myvegas mobile
    Myvegas blackjack mobile
    Pop slots mobile

All earn you gold chips for play. Get the gf doing it too. Gold chips can be exchanged for rooms, food and show tickets. You will need to get a mlife card in Vegas. The email you use for Facebook and your mlife account must match.

Redemptions are the lowest cost in gold chips for all the 2 for 1 offers but that will also maximize your savings, since you are travelling as a couple. You can cash in 3 rewards per person. So that could be 3 free meals and 3 free show tickets or whatever.

My next trip I am going with a 2 for 1 spa at Mandalay Bay (used the same reward on my last trip), free lunch buffet at Mirage and 2 for 1 sandwich at Carnegie deli at the Mirage. The deli is amazing, Peteski and I ate there last trip.

The rewards reload every few days so if what you want is sold out, keep watching.

Currently I have 600,000 gold chips, which is enough for a free cruise and I have put total about $10 into these games, never mind the free rooms, shows and food I have cashed in over the years.

  • Does WSOP play 10 handed, 9 handed, 8 handed? Is it different for PLO tournaments? I'm thinking about playing event #78 PLO bounty and it doesn't state that on the structure sheet.
  • FYI yesterday's big 50 played 10 handed.

My favourite burger place is in the Paris ...... the burgers are amazing and they have sick sides. Waffle fries are really good and they have onion rings that have spicy cheetos dust mixed into the batter.

If if you like Thai food you have to go off the strip to lotus of Siam. Best Thai food I have anywhere.

    https://lotusofsiamlv.com/

for steaks I go to Prime at the Bellagio every trip but almost any of the steak places do an amazing job. Craft steak at MGM , Cut Steakhouse in the Pallozzo, SW at the Wynn, Golden Steer is off the strip and one of the oldest in Vegas.

These 2 are my favourite places for having a bunch of appetizers Fix at the Bellagio and Stack at the Mirage both have the same owner and similar menus..... you must try the lollipop chicken wings, Mac and cheese bites, slider burgers, and hot rocks where you cook thin beef slices on a crazy hot rock.

I would suggest you take your girlfriend to one of the shows. For a first timer I would go to Le Reve at the Wynn..... there is not a bad seat in theatre in the round and it is a Cirque du Soleil type show that also has the stage open up into a water show too.
  • If you like Italian with some attitude go to Capo’s

    http://caposrestaurant.com/about.html

it starts with a hidden front door, then once inside they have live frank sinatra type singer and really good old school Italian food. It’s about a 10 min cab ride and definitely worth checking out.
  • Le Burger is great. Gordon Ramsay Burgr in PHo is good too. Both take your Caesar's rewards comps too.

Hashhouse a go go for breakfast one time. +CR card

Chicken and ribs and beers in the BBQ at Ellis Island.

https://www.miraclemileshopslv.com/mall-directory/la-salsa-cantina/ is your best choice for a cheap breakfast in Vegas.
  • You have to try In n out burgers at the very least. As well as shake shack, Fatburger and steak and shake. All are not healthy but are all west coast burger restaurants we don't have up here
  • I need to go to vegas sometime, Still haven't made it out there for the first time.
  • Steak n shake you can get in Niagara Falls, NY for Christ's sake.

In n out is an ordinary burger and the fries are pretty much crap but it is a Vegas thing you do when hammered at 2 am. Then it doesn't seem so bad.

I agree. When there are sooooo many amazing burger places with wicked good fries too I would pass on the In and Out burger.

If you don’t do Brasserie burger at Paris then try one of these....

burger bar at Mandalay Bay or Holsteins at the Cosmopolitan . Both of those are good choices.
  • Anyway.... the Bobby Flay's burger place near the Cosmo was good too.
  • How do you guys deal with bringing USD down? Do you purchase USD from the bank and just carry it on your person? Do you wire transfer to your hotel/casino? Some other method?
  • I have a US bank account so I just withdraw and carry it with me. If you are over the limit just fill out the paperwork and remember you have to report it to the Canada border service before you leave and then to US customs . Links to both forms are below.......

    Canada

    https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/forms-formulaires/e677.pdf

    USA

    https://www.fincen.gov/sites/default/files/shared/fin105_cmir.pdf

They do not care how much you take to Vegas but DO NOT try and sneak it across because if they catch you they can confiscate it and make travel to the USA very difficult in the future.

In Vegas you have people with a couple hundred thousand in their backpacks so don’t worry about walking around with 5 or 10 grand in your pocket .

i use the room safe if it’s under 20k and have got a safety deposit box at the hotel when I had much much more than that.

I wired funds to the Rio one year and would not recommend it... giant pain in the ass, big fees on both sides.

And yeah, much easier to get cash ahead of time from the bank and just bring it with you.

further to what Andrew says ......

    royal pain in the ass.

i used to do it when I played mostly Blackjack. One time that won huge they would only wire back the same amount I wired and I had to carry the extra cash anyways. Also casinos assume that you are using front money for PIT games not poker so if you did send money via wire and didn’t play a fair bit in the pits they would never accept another wire from you.

    Its a totally stupid system.
  • Just carry it and declare it either direction if it is more than 10k. When you reach the border agent he will probably ask how much you have anyways but declare it if they don't ask. The Flamingo rooms all have safe s to hold your roll and just carry what you need for the day. Also rooms break-ins are more common than you think so keep everything locked up when out and set the deadbolt when you are in the room. If you are seen with lots of cash you can be easily followed back to the room. Not to worry you though, Vegas is pretty safe.
  • Just remembered another good lunch place .... I went with Comp while we were playing a tournament at the Wynn last year. The sports bar there called Charlie’s Bar and grill..... I had a philly cheese steak sandwich that was really good but the star of the meal was an order of loaded jalapeño waffle fries that had a nacho cheese sauce and small bits of bacon and jalapeño. I almost wish I hadn’t ordered the sandwich because it was too much food .

    Waffle fries mmmmmmmm .
  • Also.... what hotel y’all staying at ?
  • Also you have to try this drink at the cosmopolitan. Go to the chandelier bar and ask for the Verbena. Tell the bartender it is your first time so they can explain how to eat the flower first.

This is one is fun. And the Chandelier bar is pretty darn spectacular.

Perfect location centre of the strip, you can walk everywhere from a good home base. Y’all better bring your bathing suits too, usually it gets up over 110 the first couple weeks in July.

    Holy fuck that's some nachos!
  • So close now! I'm psyched!

I will be arriving late on Sunday so the plan is to get to the hotel to check in after a quick stop at the "medicine" store. Plans for first night: get drunk fast and wander down the strip.
  • Obligatory shoes and "money shot". Can't wait!

  • Good luck Trigs! #rungood Enjoy!
  • Dinner break 219,000. Liquid dinner...
