  • About to head down for the Around the Bay 5K Run.

-3 outside this morning, really makes it clear that this was a retarded decision.

PS - If I don't post back it was heart failure - gg.

Nice! Did you survive? 25 minutes or better?

I'm just back from a 5 mile hike with the dog and I can assure you I would not survive a 5km run at this point.
  • Still alive. Was gunning for anything under 30 minutes and came in just over 26 - very happy to have survived at all with absolutely zero training and especially with getting home from Niagara @ 4AM last night!!
  • On my way to winning this challenge..... way ahead of schedule of where I thought I would be and should crash through my goal weight when I started.
  • I am assuming there will be no updates this round LOL
  • Back to 190 here so far
  • At 238.5 this morning.....

You gained 10 pounds?? You were getting too skinny anyway.

I've lost around 15lbs in the past 2.5 weeks...

Nice work Joe! Keep at it.

9 to be exact but still eating good - its just easter weight... hey I even pussied out of having that insane triple burger I posted in the other thread. I figure I should settle back in at 186 and just work on not getting huge again. Very little shot at the $400 at this point unless you get hit by a truck.

So I guess the question is... who's gonna lend me their truck?
  • I willl ......
  • I guess Greg is safe, no one accepted my offer for the Truck. Now for some good news, had my blood pressure checked and is 127/82. I wasn't getting that even when I was taking the meds. The blood pressure meds are officially gone now. Now to get on to serious business of winning this thing.
  • Hey Joe, do you know what your bp was earlier? I thought the 127 part sounded fine but the 82 part would still be considered something they might medicate? Good for you for getting off the meds though! Oh the things that Andrew has to look forward to....
  • Greg, I was around 140/90 or something in that range, then blew up when I started the anti inflammatories when I injured my back and hips. They aren't concerned about the 82 compared to where I was.
  • Just back from my physical. Apparently I'm now in the super hero category.

    BP 110/70
    A1C 5.7
    50+lbs lost
    Medications no longer required

    Booyah!
  • In a way, we've all won: there's officially 17% less Greg on PFC.

    Nice work!
  • Yes much less of me on PFC. A win for everyone.
  • Is the A1C the fasting blood sugar test?
  • No. It's a 3 month average of your blood sugar. I'm sure I'd still blow the roof off the fasting glucose tolerance test.
  • Ok thanks Greg, I had never heard of an A1C test that's why I asked.
  • Out on the bike today for the Paris to Ancaster 40K (technically the "St George to Ancaster")

40K of mixed roads and trails, with about 5K of deep mudslide to keep it interesting. Happy to have survived at all, but very pleased with my results - came in 201st out of 633. Really is amazing how much quicker I am without an extra 30lbs to carry!

Today's update: 182.4... but that was before this after ride snack:

355 lbs - a little dissappointing. I thought for sure I would be below 350. It is a barrier that I can seem to crack. Time to mix it up a little. Time for the cross training to begin. Hoping it will help me break the 350 barrier.
