That's the standard TDA rules, when I said structure I meant blinds and lengths. I assume buddy is involved and will post?

And did you say that YOU will deal?;)
  • http://fallsviewcasinoresort.com/content/document/wpt-brochure-2015.pdf, 10,000 starting chips with food bank donation, 15-minute blinds so it won't last 4 days like the actual WPT event.fallsviewcasinoresort.com

That is absolutely awesome of you Sir. The food bank is so important to those in need. My Dad used to go to a cannery near Picton when we were kids and get cases of canned foods and fill the car until there was barely enough room for my brothers and I. We'd drive right back to Kingston and drop them off at the food bank. He always said there's no reason anyone in Canada should ever go hungry. He'd been there.

Anyhoo, gl to the staked player.

Suggestion, why not have others on here nominate other players (via PM) giving reasons then you make the final decision? Otherwise all you will get are beggars..

  • My trip reports starts with a FB message from Blondfish asking if I would be interested in attending satellites for the WPT event coming to Fallsview. I attended one in Orangeville before for the 1k buy in and also held one of my own for the 2500.00 event and was fortunate to win a seat to each of them. I told Buddy that working for minimum wage doesn’t leave a lot of disposable income. With my bet with Greg, and a desire to play in the HTP every month money was extremely tight especially having to leave South Korea about 8 k short of what I was suppose too. He explained that I could get staked. I said that was generous and if it worked out, I would love to attend.
Chaimr1924 posted a thread saying he was willing to stake someone so I wrote a letter and pm’d him. He decided to go with another candidate which was totally fine. So I made plans to help Blazin 72 daughter with her school work on Saturday and then which football. There was about 30 minutes left in our session and I get a call from Buddy asking if I could play in about 2 ½ hours in Georgetown, I would be getting a stake for the tournament. I would be able to make it.

I finished up with my 10 year old niece Abby and headed to the store to get a couple of can goods. This would allow me to double my starting stack to 10k and with the blinds going up every 15 minutes, I knew I would need it. All the canned goods were going to the Salvation Army food bank. My parents 80 and 78 years old volunteer every Monday at the food bank in Whitby. I understand the need to restock the shelves after the holiday season is over. Plus Buddy donates 100.00, so I thought this was a good idea and wanted to support it.

I arrive about 15 minutes before the schedule start time and catch up with the host whom I hadn’t seen for quite some time. Finally everyone arrives and cards are up in the air.
I drew seat 5 and had Buddy to my right. I had played with 2 other players before and the others had been talking about their tournaments in Montreal, Rama, GBH, Brantford, Philippines etc, I knew it was going to be a tough day. I watched mostly the first couple of levels and tried to soak it all in. Everyone was extremely aggressive right from the get go. With the blinds 50-100, Buddy raises to 525, I am thinking that isn’t Buddy, did Folded sit down or something. Anyway, he gets 2 callers, which was pretty standard at the table, flop is a ragged board with Q high. Buddy bets pretty much the pot, both call again, the turn looks like a nothing 8 of hearts, Buddy fires 75% of the pot, one guy folds the other calls. River is the 2c, Buddy fires a 3 time and gets called. Buddy shows AQ and the other guy mucks. And I am thinking to myself, what could you have possible had pair of tens or Jacks, AK, it didn’t make any sense.
Another hand, 3 guys in puck and the 2 blinds flop comes Q high, all diamonds Buddy comes out firing, I fold other guy calls all the way down to the river and ends up getting a 4 card flush to go with his 8 of diamonds for the win.
Like I said, I did a lot of folding (And I had garbage cards) and then pick up 65 hearts on the button. It had been raised by the middle spot, to 800, I re pop it 2200 and get called by the original raiser, flop comes 9 K 3 rainbow, I bet get called, turn is a 7, I bet get called, river is 9 I bet a third time, the player tanks for a few minutes then folds say, “I think you have a 9”. I don’t think I react and pull in the chips.
I win another hand with 34 of diamonds the same way. Again not having to show. Blinds are 50-200-400 I get J9 off. I raise to 1200 sb folds bb calls. Flop comes 6J6 he checks I bet he calls. The turn is 5 he checks I bet half the pot he goes all in I tank but truly believe he had a 6 so I fold. Next level guy makes it 800, I have KJh and move all in for 2750, folded back to the original raiser, he thinks for a minute and calls with Ac 7s. Of course the flop comes three clubs taking two of my outs turn is Kc officially eliminating me.

I want to thank Chaimr1924 for the stake. It was much appreciated. Also want to thank Buddy for organizing the event and like the denotation part to the Salvation Army. Would like to make it out again sometime unfortunately I won’t be able to make Thursday at 7pm satellite for the 2500.00 buy in seat at Fallsview. If you are looking for a chance to play in the WPT, here is the link for a rake free satellite: Food bank RFS to WPT Fallsview $2500 Event - Mississauga Poker Tour (Mississauga, ON) - Meetup

I fail to understand what you are talking about stop trolling my posts.:o
  • People in the area are still reeling from the bills fiasco. Look at Mathers - he is STILL sick. Advertising this on bills Meetup probably hurt the credibility of the event.

Don't give up after only a couple tries. They will come.
