    Yes, I am IN.

Not doing a BAP since I'm not a strong enough player to offer any real value to anyone, and I've already sold 20%.
  • See ya there.......
  • Here we go again..... 11:05 and 2/3rds of the field not seated yet. last month started past 1130ish....

Good news is, you lasted longer then most people thought.
  • Lol, you weren't far off.

At 3rd Break, Reibs and I are still in. Not sure about the other guys.

Deck has been ice cold for me all day. Best starting hand I've had was JJ just before the 3rd break. Not even an AK! Crazy!

At least I got doubled up and a bit more on the jacks. Deck has to warm up at some point I guess.
  • Out in 28th. Shoved 15 BB with AK preflop. Got called by 2 guys, both with QQ. Best case scenario, but no help on the board.
  • GG sir . . . you got a hell of a lot further with that ticket than I would have.
  • Started with folded on my table. He gave me all his chips because i think he was bored. I didnt outplay him , he picked a bad time to shove.

Then i knocked out two guys in one hand..... I yelled over to to carddead because i knew i wouldnt keep the chips for long.

By the second or third level carddead is moved to my table. I had something like 40,000 chips when the average was 17,000.

Then i bluffed off 10,000 the last hand before our table was broken.

Got seated at the OPT steve table and he got busted two hands after i sat down.

I then got a gentleman to call his whole stack preflop with queens against my aces and BLAMO........ Queen on the river........He had me covered so i did the walk of shame.

Fun sitting beside card dead watching the dealers do a worse job than we do at bills house of porn and cards.

Oh well, next month its a $ 1090 .......... Game on.

to all who entered this tournament. Maybe next time.

    Thanks man, appreciate the props.

I have to say, I believe I could have done quite a bit better with even an average allotment of starting hands. In 8 hrs of play, I had JJ once, AK once, one flopped set on a board that ran out four to a straight and 3 to a flush, no straights or flushes.......and that's why they call me Card Dead!

I was able to use my tight image to make the most of hands like A8 suited and JT by stealing a few pots, but overall, it was difficult to get anybody to fold any marginal holding like Top Pair, No Kicker.

My first table was full of young guns, which I thought would be crazy, but it played quite small and conservative. There was average preflop raising and calling, but hardly any big betting post flop. Just value betting.

When I got moved to Pimp's table in level 4, nobody had busted out yet at my original table and the biggest stack was about 18k. At Pimp's table, there had been 7 or 8 guys busted already and 3 guys had 40k-ish (including Pimp).

Our table broke around level 7 and we went our separate ways. My table draw was quite good for me. Mostly Brantford regs who were very predictable and straightforward. Came to the table with 9k and left with 20k, after jamming on a low flop with 77 and getting called by AK. Also stole a couple of small pots from the regs.

Got moved again around level 10 and got seated to the right of the massive chip leader and left of a young guy grinding out a below average stack. We get chatting a bit and it turns out to be Reibs! Cards remained dead for me and got grinded down to 9k again, then jammed JJ into 3 limpers and got called by QT os and held. Back to 22k when avg stack was 45k. Lost a chunk of that in the next level (500/1000/100) when it folded to me on the button and I raised to 3k with AT and bb called. I c-bet 4k on the Q25 board, bb calls again, then jams the turn when another Q hit. I folded face up, and he showed Q2 os.

Grinded back up to 17k, then with blinds at 600/1200/100 jammed AK into an EP raiser, got called by BB and the raiser. Both had QQ and I didn't improve.

I thought I played well, but I did miss 2 opportunities right before I busted out that would have changed things for me. Need to be more aggressive when I get to <20bb, but happy with my play in my first big-buy-in tournament.
  • Reibs, i started on table 11 and then got moved to table 7 which is usually the final table.

thought so, we played together on table 7 till I got moved back one.
  • I'm not sure when Steve went out, but I was gone the level after 2nd break. Outside of a short spurt when I got up to 30 K, was mostly around starting stack all day. Probably would have gone out early but saved by the turn and river.

I think it was 50/100 level open for 300 in middle position with JJ button makes it 1K and I call. Flop was J Q A all rainbow. I check button leads out for 1.5K I raise to 4.2K and he flats. Turn was another A went check check river another A for another check check. He turns over a set of queens and I muck. If not for runner runner A I might have been stacked there.

Funniest hand was I raised from hijack with 55 to try and steal and small blind calls. Flop was A 7 7 and I bet out got called. Next card was Q and it went check check, river brings an A and check check again. I table my 55 and buddy mucks his hand. One player starts yelling at him, you've at least chopped get your cards back. Dealer mucks cards and gives a warning to the other player.
  • I started table 10 then got broken up and ended up at table 6 which is where I busted from.

No, pimp busted out before you got moved cuz he was gone when I sat down next to you on 7.

I may have even taken his seat.
  • Anybody playing in tonight's Bounty tourney at Brantford? The phone purchase deadline has been improved to only two hours before game time instead of the night before.

okay, so the gf's plans of being busy all sunday have now changed to saturday but i was still given the okay to play on sunday. however, now i'm thinking of maybe finally hitting up the cash games at casino niagara on saturday instead. maybe even both? idk, we'll see how i feel.

does anyone know how busy niagara is during the day on saturdays? is it worth my time going? i'll probably be heading down around noon when it opens and staying until i lose everything ;)

Not IMO. I've gone down many a Saturday to find only 2 or 3 tables running, and it doesn't always fill at night either.

I'd go across the bridge to Seneca if you want to play 1-2. Much better game.

thanks Card Dead. i'll consider it. i'm reluctant to have to cross the border to play and i've never been to seneca before either. i'm assuming that crossing the border would also pretty much double my travel time as well. however, i'm assuming that seneca would most likely have omaha spread so that's a draw for me.
  • They rarely have Omaha on the weekend. They spread a regular game on Thursdays during the day, and it sometimes runs on holiday weekends, but other than that, it's only 1-2 and 2-5 NLHE, with one table of 2-4 LHE early in the day.

Border crossing shouldn't be too bad this weekend. I'd guess 20 mins.
  • If you can't make it to Bill's freeroll on Friday night, another option is the excellent $150+$10 Deep Stack at Mohawk, where members have cashed regularly, including PocketTwos, DrTyore and BigBOB. Good luck.

In my case, I may be stuck at home playing the $500,000 Gtd online on Sunday.
