I guess one way to look at it, you're playing a 20 man sng (albeit with varied stacks), need you to finish top 3 to make a profit. Normal tourneys pay 10%'ish, so you'd have to finish 2nd or 3rd anyhow to make the money. Doesn't sound terrible when I say it like that.
Although, I'm not going to invest based on a speculative field strength, which I think heavily weighs your estimated ev.
Would u participate in this bap? I know u are the number one player in all Ontario casinos, maybe even the world, but do u really think given non equal stacks, your M, and the structure that this is a +EV investment for investors and the guestimated value of the seat?
Seems like a ton of variables involved in something like this.
Its not bad given there are 20 players and total prizes of $120,000. Effectively it is a $6,000 seat into a two table satellite. BF will definitely cash but will he be able to convince the other players to a more equitable distribution of the prize money so he doesn't have to place in the top 3 to make this a +EV BAP? That is the real question.
If he wins it with no deal, the rest of us will look like idiots. Every time I buy into one of his BAPs he doesn't cash, so he will definitely place in the top 3

Whie I don't doubt his skill, BF cashing is not a definite thing. 7 places paid, 20 people. Anything can happen remember it is poker.
With that said, rooting for my fellow pinoy to take it down!!
As compuease and I agreed last Friday, you are by far the most legendary player not only in the forum but the world. The short answer is as moose and Hobbes posted, for < $60, if the player is as good as you, it's a no-brainer investment. I would explain my investment strategies that I would do in this format, but I'm going to the CNE now.

Given the differing starting stack sizes, it's more like a $4500 seat. I do think there's most likely going to be a chop or re-shuffling of the payouts but the 30% mark-up is a bit too high for me.
Just got back from CNE and Bill's. I'll PM my email address before I go to sleep, and ask for your email address. In case anybody has changed their mind, please let me know ASAP so I can inform those on the waiting list that want up to 42% more. I think I'll limit the total to 50%.
I tried to find out what the exact prize pool is, but CNE estimated it at $116K-$120K. Afaik, it was sold out the last 2 semi-finals, & ~4 unsold in the 1st, & I heard 4-7 unsold in the 2nd, so only $116K would be surprising to me as that would mean 15 semi-final seats were unsold ($116K / $800 = 145 players; 160 max). I was given the $117,000 figure & that would make even less sense as that is not divisible by $800 that should have gone to the pool for each player.
The great news is that the best players in the last semi-finals all got eliminated. I was scouting & asking as many people as I could who were the toughest players left, but none of them made it to the final five, e.g., two of the final four from WPT Montreal ME $2M Gtd, a Playground bracelet winner for ~$30K, and a forumer who won an online Series event for ~$30K were all eliminated.
The Playground player is buying less than 20% so JimmyHo and anybody else interested can go ahead and send payment. I'll keep updating the OP re payment.
Well Buddy has indicated he will be at the Friday night hoopla, so maybe the regulars
and past winners like DJgolfcan ( 2 ), Pkrfce9 ( 2 ), and Sebastian ( winner of $550
Deep Stack entry ) might give BlondeFish a good test run for his CNE event.
Good luck Buddy. You know we'll all be gunning for you.
