Netanyahu freezes the Palestinian's tax revenue. What did they do to deserve this punishment? Apply to join the International Criminal Court. That's it.
I'm just showing how Israel "strives for peace." If you don't do what Netanyahu wants, you will be punished. After all, seeking to join the ICC is such an aggressive move against Israel there just had to be a response, right?
Sure glad I ducked out of this one... Now back to the (more relevant) NA Indians..
So FU Trigs and KW Steve, if the Indians start lobbing rotten apples into your backyard as retribution for you "taking" or "expropriating" their land, are you going to roll over and give it back or fight back? Honest answers..
As stated before I'm no Israeli sympathizer but both sides have too many hardliners to ever come to a peaceful resolution. Perhaps nuke the leaders collectively and start over? Save the children of both sides...
I agree with you. That's all I've been saying. Both sides are guilty of perpetuating the violence. Neither side is striving for peace.
When the Zionists were trying to create the nation of Israel, they resorted to terrorist attacks against innocent British citizens. Palestinians are doing the exact same thing.
I happen to believe the Aboriginals were cheated for the most part by the government not honouring treaties. There were many bands and many treaties so you can't generalize but you get the gist. Not to mention residential schools, or John A. Macdonald starving them into reservations, those were both dick moves by the Canadian government at the time. They have a legitimate beef which was strengthened by the recent Supreme Court ruling.
“The doctrine of terra nullius [that no one owned the land prior to European assertion of sovereignty] never applied in Canada,” the court said in an 8-0 ruling, written by Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin.

honestly, i don't know what i'd do. simply giving them my house and land isn't really helping their cause in the slightest, so no i wouldn't do that. i would go and talk to them and ask them if there is anything i can do to help them. i would (and do) feel terrible about this issue especially in my white male middle class standing - i'm one of the main parts of the problem.
i've had multiple native peoples as students in my classes over the years and some of them have been willing to discuss this issue with me and even they have no idea of a possible solution. they are literally lost between their old non-existent culture and this new demanding culture that they don't really want to be a part of. it's a situation that i can't even fathom.
i also can't even imagine being the government official or whatever who is in charge of dealing with this issue. i mean, what do you even say? "To all native peoples in north america, remember when we took your children from your homes and forced them into residential schools where they were beaten, tortured, and trained to the point where they forgot all their cultural traditions and even their native languages? Well, in retrospect maybe that was bad, so here's 5% off your taxes." it is literally a fucking joke.
btw, i just love when this is referred to as "expropriation". makes it sound so official and justified lol.
i do also want to state that there are peaceful resolutions to this conflict that are technically possible. there are not fair resolutions to this conflict though (at least none that i can think of or any that i've ever read before).
obviously a two state solution would be a peaceful compromise but it's still not a fair compromise for anyone involved. for all of you who feel a two-state solution is a good idea, why don't you give up half your home and let some native people live there? (i really didn't want to state arguments like this, but since milo keeps doing it, it is probably the best way to get him to consider the other side of things.)
If the government says I have to, as was the case when Israel formed, then I will decide what to do then.
Until that time, the land my house sits on has been deemed ceded land according to the Supreme Court.
When are you? You're such a fan of the Israelis, I would think you'd give up your house freely and without incident when the First Nation diaspora returns to their ancestral homes.

Striving for peace LMAO
But conflate that this one action means that Israel has not done a hell of a lot more than her neighbours to achieve peace is nonsense.
