How do cash and non-cash players differ?

And is the prize the same regardless of buy-in amount?

Oh, and if I can't play a Brantford tourney thhen I can't win?

I just had a lengthy chat with Bill about this. We'll clear it all up tonight before the game starts.

    Here is what I understand:
    * Bill wants as many people to play as possible
    * every tournament player is eligible for the 5 freeroll entries
    * not everyone wants/is able to play for $$$ tournament
    * those who want to play $$$ tournament will agree on the buy-in (looks like max $50 now) and agree on # of payouts and percentages
    * only those who have paid an entry fee are eligible to win $$$
    * bill wants the $$$ prizes to go towards a bigger tourney at brantford

i brought up the issue of not liking brantford and that is something to be discussed this evening.

    see you tonight.

    Still confused.

The one tournament part I get. The 5 freeroll entries I assume are only available to Gold members.

Everything will be less confusing when you come to 3550 Wolfedale Road tonight
and become a GOLD MEMBER. You will be illuminated.
  • I dont think its a good idea to mix "payouts" with players that aren't necessarily involved

might as well just have a Last longer for those who choose to do so.

I know im not involved, but thats my .02 . everything looks confusing.

wish to god I was in ontario to play this, you guys look like you have lots of fun! I like fun! :frown:
  • Not all that keen on "banking" cash for future tournies. Would much rather have a direct pay-out and let the winner decide what to do with his earnings.

But it is not my shop. I will see you folks tonight.
  • I agree with Milo, it makes the most sense.

For example, this week i want to play the 160 deepstack aug 7 at brantford and the following week i want to play the 230 aug 17. Do we have to come back to Bills to collect the money that he is banking for us ? Seems kind of like an extra step.

Had to quote this for posterity. I am not sure, but I think that these two comments, in reference to myself, have NEVER been used in the same sentence before.

    Top of the World, Ma . . . :)
  • I'm out for tonight.

Work committments and I now have a big headache. ;)
  • Random question. Is there wifi there? I have a couple emails I need to send. I'm wondering if I need to do them at home or if I can do them there.
  • Clear the track, the Master is about to become a GOLD member.. On my way to finally meet this Bill character.... and RookieC "tho".. Likely in for whatever and with whomever will pay me off..

Got a night off and it's as good a time as any... Hopefully I can spend some more time there regularily...
  • Yes, free wifi is one of the great benefits as a Gold member. We can even multi-table online while playing the free games!

WTF, the King of the Milton Ribfest is about to donate?! F*ck the One Direction concert, I may just have to find a way to play tonight. :D

Awesome. I still don't get this whole freeroll/satellite/gold membership thing but will be there for 7pm to play everything.

I'm trying to arrange with BRANTFORD CASINO to leave them my American Express
gold card number on file and pay for whatever tournaments I call them about and
give them the winners names for the tournaments they want.

That means we could book it when ever you want. What can be easier ?
  • I've never seen so many bad hands win such monster pots.

If it is possible then that would be easiest but Brantford asks for your credit card when you register at the desk how would that work? How were you awarding people with entries into tournaments before by just paying out cash?
  • BRANTFORD CASINO will not take my credit card and keep it on file. They say they're not a bank. Oh well, I just bought 9 tournament entries as PRIZES for freerolls on Aug 8 and Aug 22. The winners of each of these freerolls can select from the following.

    Aug.10 $120 NLH , Aug.11 $120 NLH , Aug.12 $130 Super Satellite,

    Aug.17 $230 Deep Stack , Aug.18 $60 Gentlemen Only , Aug.19 $150 Bounty

    Aug. 24 $125 Deep Stack , Aug. 25 $130 Super Satellite , Aug. 26 $120 NLH

The Sunday events are at 11 am and the Monday and Tuesday events are at 7 pm.

So now since I've prepaid for the entry I will give the winners a receipt which will
be their prepaid entry to the event they choose.
  • bill, you are amazing.
  • Aug.10 $120 NLH , Aug.11 $120 NLH , Aug.13 $130 Super Satellite,

    Aug.17 $230 Deep Stack , Aug.18 $60 Gentlemen Only , Aug.19 $150 Bounty

    Aug. 24 $125 Deep Stack , Aug. 25 $130 Super Satellite , Aug. 25 $120 NLH
Bill, will most of these $1,000+ total in prizes  be awarded in tomorrow's freeroll since they must be played on August 10-19 before the next freeroll (August 22)?

I am guessing there is another freeroll august 15 to win the second package
  • There will be another freeroll on Friday, August 22, but remember the freeze out
supplement winners will be choosing from these PRIZES. Also the winners of the
freeze out for Friday, August 15 will have a selection from these PRIZES.

I just got the tournaments I thought everyone would be able to go to. I avoided
the Thurs. 11 am tournaments, although they seemed the most interesting because
I thought most people would be working then, but what do I know. Mike was there
and I didn't even know it.

I think BRANTFORD will allow me to exchange the tournaments that are not used
as long as I give them a days notice.

    See you tonight.
  • you all should give some thought to putting this discussion in a more current thread, rather than one with Aug 1 in the title.

    just sayin

Agreed, but cns187 asked his question on this thread.
  • i did say ALL...
    plus YOU started it :)
  • Since the tournament cash winners didn't seem to be interested in Brantford entry tickets, I can buy the Tuesday, August 12 (NOT 13) $130 satellite entry to test it out if you won't be using it. My family is going to a charity event soon, but let me know if I can try to pick it up LATE tonight.
    Aug.13 $130 Super Satellite

Thanks for the offer, but I will be going myself on that day.

I'm going to BRANTFORD CASINO to exchange some of the paid entries
for a Aug. 31 $550 Deep Stack entry, tomorrow at 10 am.
