Roll Call: Friday Aug 1 @ Bill's

yes! I have started another bill's thread to keep track of this week's game so we can decide if the game is on. the thread nazis know what they can do to themselves (pm for details if you aren't sure).

bill can confirm or correct any of these details:

* any new players have to sign up for gold membership first.

* the freeroll starts @ 7pm. show up/don't show up. doesn't matter for this.

* tourney starts @ 8pm ish. bill has suggested a $20 rebuy. i'm ok with that or a $30-50 freezeout.

* cash game will start as soon as 2 or more bust out of the tourney. probably by 9pm. last week it ran until 3am @ .25/.50 stakes with 72 option.

so who is in? there's been a lot of interest but not a lot of commitment. please post if you will attend either or both of the tourney or cash game. also post your preference for the tourney type and buy-in. and if there are conditions - like min 8 players or whatever.

bill, are you and rookieC in for both? can you followup with the non-forum members (and jamie)?

alex, andrew are you in? how about don and anita?

and fed, go play in your own sandbox.

i'll update the roll call here:

  • Yes, Colin and I are both in for both and I will follow up with the non forum members.
Sebastian already said he can't make it and told me about his bad beat experience
    at $550 Deep Stack. Losing with A -10 d, flop K-5 d A against K - K, turn x, river x.

    Maybe next time.

Will find out about the others tonight.
  • this week

wish me luck, club championships and I am golfing like a jerk!
  • thanks, bill. any preference for tournament type and buy-in. i know you suggested $20 re-buy but not sure if that is your preference or what colin's preference.

good luck @ not being a jerk, dave.
  • I am a maybe right now, I am off work at 4pm so just waiting to see if I can go to my buddys until 7-8. If not, I don't really feel like killing 3 hours around here.
  • I'm in for the 8pm and cash.
  • I will check back tonight with Colin and the rest of the non forum members. I think
Mathers said he would try to make the cash game.

  • $50 max for the tourney . . . hate re-buys.
  • Not that really matters much what kind of structure are we working with for the tournament. And what's the difference between the 7pm and 8pm.

Sign me up for both. I'd prefer a bigger buy-in but whatever people are people are comfortable with, I guess. A vote for $50 freeze out (with option for re-entry?).

The 7pm is a qualifier to win entries into the freeroll. Usually only a handful of competitors so it ends in an hour or so.

This will be the first 8pm tourney that isn't a freeroll. We can negotiate on this. If we use the freeroll schedule we'll start with almost 200 bbs and 20 minute blinds. It would likely run for at least a couple hours but the blinds and antes get pretty onerous towards the end. You tourney pros can likely give some recommendations for a good structure.

Greg, I hope you're not confusing everyone. We're only having one tournament
which will be between 7-8 pm. Collectively we can decide what the entrance will
be, from 0 to $50, whatever most are comfortable with. The winner will win 5 qualifying freerolls, and both cash and non-cash players are welcome. If a non-cash winner wins he will not participate in cash equivalent PRIZE to BRANTFORD CASINO.

Afterwards, we can have a cash game.

    Is anyone still confused?
  • whats on the pizzas tonight?

    Yes.

What's the difference between a cash and non-cash player?

Is the prize pool only the 5 freerolls or is there a cash payout as well?

sorry I can't make it tonight
  • If I understand this correctly.

There will be ONE tournament starting at 8pm but there is an optional, rake free, buy in of $??to be determined. There will be a cash prize awarded to top x players, depending on number of players who pay to play.

Winner of tournament gets 5 freeroll entries

You do not have to buy in for cash to win the freeroll entries, but do need to buy in for cash to win the optional cash money prize.

The cash prize may be taken at the end of the tourney or banked toward a tournament entry fee of the players choosing.
  • Oh, and I'm in for tonight. $50 freeze out is my preference and I will play the cash game afterward.

You're almost right DJ, cash players of 7-8 pm tournament are always playing for
tournament entry of their choice to BRANTFORD CASINO, taken immediately or
bankable and all games are rake free. ( NO CASH WILL EVER BE PAID OUT )
  • I want to return Noah's Ark sooner than the Gold member who hoarded GOT-S3 for weeks, ;) so I'll try to stop by on my way back home from Toronto.

    Still confused.

The one tournament part I get. The 5 freeroll entries I assume are only available to Gold members.

How do cash and non-cash players differ?

And is the prize the same regardless of buy-in amount?

Oh, and if I can't play a Brantford tourney thhen I can't win?
