BTW I wont be playing the $1090 today as this morning there were still only 9 players registered. I will play some other events, and let you know how I do at those.
Regarding the blind structure, it does need some tweaking. What happens when the blinds go too fast is there is no room to play poker, it just becomes a dice roll as everyone only has a few blinds worth of chips. This definitely happened towards the end of the game yesterday.
All you need to do is add just a couple of "in-between" levels. This would only only extend the game by a few minutes, but really adds some play that is currently missing at the later stage.
Combine the structure below with a starting stack of 10000 instead of 8600, and I think you have a pretty reasonable structure that will still finish relativley quickly.
