Sadly that's all their is nowadays or people running off with stakers money.
  • another alleged fake chip scam. lucky for us apparently all the people who try to use fake chips are fucking morons.
In an effort to dispose of the evidence, it appears they took the unused chips and dumped them in a lake near their own home but… “Fortunately for police, the chips floated,” said a Maryland State Police spokesman.

  • The scary part is what about the non-morons who were not caught when they cheated. I don't know why, but Fallsview did not bother having dealers verify the chip counts of players at the end of each day. :-\ It seems to me that it is too easy for another cheater to try a Borgata Chipgate.

I think there was also some concern about EPT PokerStars chips being sold.

Another Fallsview thing I saw was during the 275 Mega they brought out 1K chips they were using in the 1100 going on in the same room!
  • Are you saying that the orange 1000 chips were exactly the same in the super satellites as the Events? What about the 5000 or higher chips? I had more than 60,000 chips towards the end of the satellite, but I was too focused on strategizing and assumed that a casino would never use the same chips in a $275 satellite as the $5,000 and $2,500 events.

  • After months of investigation into "Chipgate," the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) released the final order which includes how the $1.7 million The Borg collected will be disbursed to affected players.
As for the final 27 who were still alive in the event when it was canceled, they each will collect $19,323—a mere pittance compared to what was to be awarded to first place.

I guess the poker regulators have never heard of EV or ICM!
  • Why the Borgata Counterfeit Chip Ruling is Unfair by Haley Hintze
... it’s important to understand how inherently unfair it was to decide that the 27 players had to give up about $912,000, or more than 60% of their average equity, to satisfy the refunds given to 2,143 non-cashing entrants — many of whom had no interaction with Lusardi and his fake chips, either directly or indirectly.
