Why are we talking about hotels in downtown Ottawa or Gatineau when you can stay in Kanata or Gloucester for like 90-100/night and drive 20 minutes?

Ramada I posted about is in the 100-120 range.

Just like jontm, I don't do Ray Bitar, Howard Lederer or the scummy company that screwed our player community, including ripping off the players from the last event it sponsored in Montreal. :rage: But feel free to post about it and I look forward to your trip report about the best hotel to stay at, which poker room has the most reasonable cash game rake, and about you taking the event down. :)

You realize that Full Tilt Poker is now owned 100% by PokerStars, right? I had as much animosity as anyone towards the old Full Tilt when everything came out in the open, but when PokerStars bought them everything changed for me.

Anyhow - things are still on track for a very large $1.1K event starting on September 27!

I feel you must have missed this somehow........

PokerStars Acquires Full Tilt Poker Assets; Players to be Refunded (UPDATED 10:15 a.m. PDT) | PokerNews
  • No, but maybe you & mikelbyl have missed news articles like this somehow ;) -
Certain Groups Rumored to be Omitted from Full Tilt Reimbursement.
As far as I know, all the players who got ripped off in Montreal will not be reimbursed by FTP/PokerStars. All the money of US players continue to be frozen for nearly 2 1/2 years!

Just like the Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker brand names should have been killed off after they ripped off the player community, the new owner of FTP should change the name because it will always have a negative connotation. Joe Sebok, Prahlad Friedman and other pros betrayed the player community by selling their souls to the devils to keep playing in and representing the scummy sites.

Anytime I see the FTP advertisements, I want to hit the screen! :rage: Anyway, you and I will disagree with jontm about his defence of bwin.party, and jontm and I will disagree with anybody defending FTP. I've been trying to avoid pissing on threads that mention FTP, but if you want to keep discussing FTP, maybe you can create a separate thread.

  • VIP Poker Room has updated its page for the CPT VIP Montreal Mega Stack, including blind structures, hotel and airfare discounts. Unfortunately, it didn't include the most basic information of fees; I don't know what the rake is for the $85 and $135 events.
  • In case you don't have enough $500+ events to use your life bankroll for, Caesars Windsor will be having a $1,000 event on November 29 - December 1, the same weekend that my friend and I are planning to be at WPT Montreal. :( I talked to a Fallsview senior manager on the weekend and they may not release the FPC info until November.

With so many $500+ Canadian events coming up in the next five months, hopefully there will be some rake-free Players' Choice satellites to send forumers to these various events.
  • Note that Event 1 of WSOP-C River Rock has sold out.

  • Some casino players mentioned they're playing the Caesars Windsor tournament next week. In case any forumer is going, it's $905 + $90 fee + $5 tournament BBJ, or 9.5% rake; 15,000 starting chips, 30-minute levels.
