  • Looks good, would like to see online sattys including air and hotel.....not just main event entry
  • I just checked in Full Tilt - some of the online satellites award packages (seat + $400) and some are seat only. As far as I can tell the path that starts with a freeroll is seat-only and the path that starts with real-money tourneys leads to a package. I'm trying to clarify this now and if I learn anything different I will add the info I get.

I knew about this, but the big question for all players is has Full Tilt Poker made good on the previous Montreal tournament it sponsored? Hopefully jontm or somebody else would know.

Don't see the structures...can you post them please?
  • We'll be posting them shortly. Probably early next week, though I am going to try for today.
  • Also very interested in more info on the mega overlay sat... all i'm reading so far on the site is,

Win a seat in the $100 + $10 Full Tilt Poker Mega Overlay event (August 22nd – 25th). This event features three day ones, and in addition to the huge prize pool, Full Tilt Poker is adding 50 seats!

Tks Mikelbyl, better than nothing, but $400 will cover a one way to YUL from the west. I would play all satty's if there was hotel +$400.

Your competitor across the parking lot had a similar one with PokerStars last year, I think I ended up paying about 1.5k in air and hotel to play in an $1100 tourney....killing my ROI potential....

I understand most players will be from the east, but I think adding at least a hotel to the packages would encourage more players to attempt to satty in.
  • Yeah I know where you're coming from, but this is the approach that Full Tilt has chosen to offer. I suppose this is related to their assessment of the target audience for an event of this size in Canada.
  • I dunno why they would span a 1k event over 8 days, don't need that much play and the rest o the series isn't worth it for people to come down for. I'm glad there's a new series but this will prob be 95% Quebec players

And sats should def be $2k. 1k entry plus incedentals

I would imagine after 2 years of waiting, these players got straightened out when Stars & Tilt collaborated to save a billion dollars or something like that.

Looks like any USA players that may have cashed back then only need wait another year...according to CardPlayer Article floating around today

Full Tilt fiasco near ruined a bunch of people so really they are dead to me. I unsubscribed from their emails and have not downloaded their software since Black Friday, even had friends on a tear offer to ship some stakes and turned it down for several of these reasons.

Glad everything is back to be "peachy keen" though!
Come on in an pick yourself a nice piece of the pie after you pissed on all the ingredients last time you were in town!

Still don't see the structures posted anywhere...its been a couple of weeks...when will they be posted?
  • Unfortunately, some players never learn, just like from AP and UB, and will eventually get pissed on again.

FTP should have changed its name so it won't provoke so much :rage: from members of the poker community like jontm and me.

  • I understand the hate for the name.......but if you peer over your tin hats, it's now owned by Stars....so it's not remotely connected to the old FTP owners/morons.

And still the best software in the game.
  • It is hate for the name, plain and simple and I could write a book as to why on a personnel level, but it doesn't change how great the software is.

I wonder where they would all be if they played by same rules?

It's nice to see them jump into the market after everyone else has laid the ground work. Chicken shit, but smart.

are you shilling for another site?

none of the poker sites play by the same rules...what do you mean by that statement?

    Absolutely playing favorites

Party left USA in 2006 and gave up their #1 spot. Stars & FTP stayed, continued to break law, then paid fine with profits. DoJ waited for them to restructure since they couldn't make deal with fugitive and both companies saved a billion in fines by this clever move. (Son taking over as CEO)

Stars was aligned with Stardust prior to them going broke and now jumped into Playgrounds bed....where was the NAPT and Stars events (or FTP) last few years? Nowhere, cause they didn't give a shit about our piddly live scene.

Seems that these were/are business decisions that any site could have made. I don't see an uneven playing field.

I do see uber scumbags at some sites past and present, but that is not the same thing.
  • Mostly it's the leaving the community hanging and then just jumping back in under different ownership and acting as if nothing ever happened.

Oh yeah, and as an affiliate of sorts I never seen the money they owed companies that owed me that Stars said they wouldn't cover as debts when they took over.

Like I said, they are scumbags but I still don't get your point about different sites playing by different rules.
  • Not sure I have one. FTP= Douchy IMO

I think you really mean to say Stars = Douchy.....as they are the new FTP

This thread is about a new tourney in Canada, and you coming in here hatemongering FTP which I find a little tilting (I do tilt easy obv).

Why don't you talk to your Party pals, and tell them their MTT schedule sucks azzz, and their software is even worse.

I don't believe you tilt that easily T8. I'll knock it off though

I have chat bans to prove it
  • Why don't all of us players get along and agree that FTP is douchy,
& Party has been douchy to regs like me since the bwin.party takeover,
but not as &^%$#@! scumbags as FTP/AP/UB, OK? ;)

  • OK the structures are all approved but getting the final versions together to publish - esp considering everything has to be done in both FR and EN for our customers - is taking some time.

But... here is the Main Event Structure.

    For Event 8 (Main Event)

    Starting stack: 30,000 chips
Blind Level Length: Day 1 45 mins, Day 2 60 mins, Day 3+ 75 mins.
Day 1 play for 11 levels. Day 2 play for 9 levels. Day 3 play to 27 players. Day 4 play to 10 players. Day 5 Final Table (starts at 10).
Day 1 will start 10-handed but move to 9 as quickly as practical. Day 2+ for sure 9-handed. Final table starts 10-handed.

  • Events 1 and 8 (Main Event) are the only multi-day tournaments in this festival. The structures for the one-day events are designed to start in the early evening and finish by 3-4am.

    All will be posted ASAP.
  • Is the rake for the cash game still 10% max $14?

I'd consider going to Montreal if the rake wasn't so high.
  • $14 is sweet.

    In before free food.
