Did you play any sports growing up? if yes, then what sports?
What is your biggest live cash in poker?
Do you think you will ever play in the wsop main event?
Have you ever played a wsop event?
I am 42yrs old.
I played every sport I could growing up. I grew up in a very small town (Oak Ridges) and all there was to do was play sports. Baseball in the summer and hockey in the winter. I was a catcher for baseball and goalie for hockey. I also played soccer, tennis, golf, canoeing, swimming and skiing.
Biggest live cash in poker was a three way deal in a $230 deep stack tourney at Brantford Casino, good for $3500.
One day, I will play in the WSOP Main event. I haven't even been to Vegas yet, so no, I have not played in a WSOP event.
Like alot of people, I got into poker after the Moneymaker boom. Not that I saw him win, but there were a lot of ads for online sites and I made my deposit to TruePoker, and that was it, I was hooked.
Long term poker goal is to have a decent enough bankroll to use it for vacations, tournaments, etc.. without it affecting my real life money.
I may have bad luck on the felt, but in real life I am one lucky SOB. So I guess it evens out.
Favorite place to play live poker close to the Hamilton area?
I am currently unemployed. I had been in the insurance industry, exclusively Auto/Property Claims for 10 years. I took a 2 year break to become part owner of a golf course and ran the golf course for the first two years it was open.
Biggest online cash is $2300.
I play 20-30 hours a week at the moment.
I like playing at Casino Niagara on Weekends, especially long weekends. It fits my bankroll and the play is usually terrible.

Started with CIBC/The Personal which got bought by Desjardins (6 years) and Aviva (4 years).
Its a toss up between Hobbes and Milo. We seem to have a similar sense of humour and get alot of the same references, given our relative ages.
Biggest poker leak is Bankroll management. And over playing small pocket pairs (this one is getting better though).
Biggest life leak is not doing enough household chores.
Been married to the same wonderful woman for 20 years. Two beautiful daughters, 20 and 17.
If you could do life over again, what would you change?
It would be interesting to see how things would have turned out if I would have taken the cruise ship gig. I studied music at York University, then Humber College. While there, I auditioned for a cruise line.
They called me, two years later, when a spot opened up. I played another audition for them over the phone, so they could hear I still had my chops. They said they would have a ticket waiting for me at the airport if I wanted the job.
It paid $30k/yr US$ - Food and room covered as well.
The timing couldn't have been worse. My wife (fiancee at the time) and I were getting married in two months, and she was already pregnant with our first child.
While I know a parents job is never done, how do you think you've done so far?
Favourite household chore? Least favourite?
How many 5 year olds could you beat up?
Do you have any pets?
I think we've done a pretty good job so far. My oldest daughter is starting her 2nd year at Durham College for Music Business Management and has become a very independent young lady. She will be globe trotting with the next big musical group she discovers, I have no doubt.
My youngest is starting her last year of highschool this year. She is a natural born leader with a heart of gold. She wants to get into social work, or anything that helps other people.
Favourite household chore is taking out the garbage. Its once a week and takes all of 10min to do.
Least fav. Dishes. It doesnt matter how many you do, there is always more.
I couldnt beat up a five year old.
We have a cat that adopted us. He just came into our yard one stormy night (approx. 3 years ago now) so we took him in. We posted his picture around the neighbourhood, called animal control, the local shelter, but no one reported him missing.
My first hero was Doug Brumwell of the Dynes Jeweller Hockey team. They were a Junior "B" team my parents co-owned (with about 10 others) and Doug was their goalie.
I had asthma growing up and was told that skating would aggravate it. So I asked if being a goalie would be ok, since there wasn't alot of skating and was given the green light.
I would stand behind the net at every home game for Dynes and studied how Doug played. My first year I got 14 shoutouts in 18 games (I was 9). As appreciation for his "coaching", I started selling "Brumwell" buttons at the Dynes' games. I made enough to buy Doug a desk clock/pen set that I presented to him at the last home game of the season, at centre ice.
Most famous person I have ever met would have to be the Queen Mother. I have been playing the trumpet since grade six and even went on to study music at York University and Humber College.
During my last year of highschool, I auditioned for and was accepted to be a part of the Ontario Youth Concert Band. They tour Europe for five weeks, playing concerts every other day. That year, we had a Command Performance, for The Queen Mother, at Buckingham Palace on Canada Day.
Nice, dj. my late Mother met Sophie, Countess of Wessex (Prince Edward's wife) while staying in Toronto General recovering from surgery. she thought she was a "nice girl", and found out that Her Majesty shares my Mother's disdain for hospital stays, preferring her own creature comforts. Guess the Queen has an easier time making that happen, though . . .
Do you play other instruments besides trumpet, asked the Baritone player in the back?

Naw, just the trumpet. I've fiddled around with the other brass instruments and took keyboarding during college.
What was your childhood dream job? Did you ever try to do it?
Hero was answered above.
Ever since I started playing the trumpet, I listened to Big Band music(30s / 40s), especially Harry James. I always wanted to start my own Big Band. I joined a semi-professional band called the Hurricanes (as lead trumpet) during college and played with them for almost 10 years.
We played nursing homes, senior homes, then some great dance gigs at a few resorts. Highlight would have to be a Big Band competition in Barrie. One of the judges was Pierre Burton, he made a point of coming up to me after and telling me I had the most unique sound he's heard in a long time !
But as far as dream job making a living at, it would have to be the two years I owned and operated my own golf course. Its called Tarandowah, bewteen Woodstock and London. Being able to start a course from scratch and put my own stamp on it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done.
It won best new course in Ontario (Score Golf & Ontario Golfing Magazine) and has consistently been ranked as one of the best golfing values in Ontario, since opening.
Why did you leave golf course?
What was your role in building it?
The golf course was initially brought to me as an investment. My best friend (known him since we were 9yrs old) is a mortgage broker and he was trying to find financing for this golf course. The owners were on the brink of losing it (used to be a family farm) so Carl suggested giving up some equity to bring in investors.
There were five of us and we bought 51% of the course, with a buyout agreement within the first two years. Since we owned a majority half, we got to pick who was to oversee the running of the course and I was in the best position to do it.
I was responsible for everything to do with the operation of the course. The building and mainteneance of the course itself was the responsibility of the original owners.
I set up the proshop, food and beverage, leased the golf carts, hired and trained the staff, advertising and promotions. It was 16 hour days but it didnt feel like work.
After the first full year it was open, the original owners excercised their buyout clause and that was that.

Craziest thing you wanted to do but never did?
Craziest thing you never wanted to do but got roped into doing?
Favourite childhood memory?
Have you ever been kicked in the nuts? If so, why and how bad did it hurt?
Craziest thing I did was driving from Humber College up to my brother's cottage on a Wednesday night, with my girlfriend, just because we felt like it. Had to break in, too, 'cause I didnt have a key.
Nothing comes to mind for number two, if I want to do something, crazy or not, I usually do it.
Craziest thing I never wanted to do but got roped into doing has to be streaking down my street. There were four of us camping in the trailer in my driveway. I have no idea who brought it up or why, but we did it.
Favourite childhood memory is the two week camping trip to six mile lake. I was 13 at the time and we were just pulling out of our driveway when I informed my Mom and Dad that we couldn't go yet 'cause my buddy Carl hadn't shown up yet. My Mom is like "He's coming too ?" Apparently I hadnt told her.
It was cool though, 'cause we are more like brothers than friends. We canoed that lake almost every day. Played baseball. Tried to pick up girls. Snuck out of the tent at night (not successfully as we found out years later).
