Q & A Week with Milo

Hello, good evening and welcome to Q&A week with Milo . . .

No question is taboo, and all will be answered as honestly as possible. I do however reserve the right not to answer questions that relate to my wife or daughter, should I find them inappropriate. With the caveats out of the way, can I get this "stickied", so that I can be here until 1700 next Thursday afternoon.

You may fire when ready . . . ;)

I would not. I love my wife, and our physical relationship is such that I do not feel the need to explore such alternatives. As for how she feels, you can aske her the next time you see her, but she does occasionally mutter stuff about gold lame shorts, and someone named Sven, while sleeping.
  • 1. Did you split some of your PFC HU $ with Comp?
    2. Of your 10147 posts, how many of those were of any relevance vs you just loving the look of your own type written words
    3. Is it possible that Darbday is really just one of the pantless voices in Mark's head with its own acct?
    4. Do you still have Guns in the house? Any close calls/accidents in past with said guns?

    Of course it makes a sound . . . and that sound is . . .

    BOOM . . . PANCAKES !!!

    1) No, I did not. Karma seems to have caught up with me for that, though.

    2) About tree-fiddy. Thanks for the lob. But I chalk it up more to my love of conversation, and my inability to fit all you lovable idiots in my living room at one time. This Forum is an adequate substitute.

    3) I have always thought that Mark's pantless voices would be much squeakier, given the tightness of his britches. No homo . . .

    4) I do not recall ever stating that I have ever had guns in my home. I have no desire to own a firearm at this point in my life. As for close calls, I was somewhat closer than I should have been while a section-mate fired off a round with a Carl Gustav 84mm anti-tank rocket, resulting in a minor flesh burn. But you should have seen that Sherman blow . . . worth every ounce of the pain.
  • Why you call with Queen high?

    Queen high is bad?

Sometimes you need to do the wrong thing for the right reasons. This is as true in poker as it is in life.

Important in what sense? From a Nationalistic standpoint, one could say "yes", as we all fund these athletes with our tax dollars, so we should be interested in getting value for our money, if nothing else. Me? I like sport, and I think the athletes performances are some of the most engaging you will see. Much more so than professional sports.

I like you well enough, Costanza. I am not overly fond of your other iterations, here and elsewhere, but you seem to have reformed your ways, so credit where it is due.

My facial hair comes and goes, but I am lazy about shaving, so it rarely looks all that good, unless I am going out somewhere, and then I will neaten things up. Currently sporting a goatee, but have about three days growth surrounding it. Not having to worry about my appearance for work is a blessing.

I take a certain satisfaction from my victory. I have always maintained that I am well aware of exactly how bad a player I am (not quite as bad as you think is usually my goal), but that I enjoy the game for it's own sake. I like to play. Would I like to be better? Sure . . . Do I think I will improve much beyond where I am now? Maybe a little . . . Will I always be able to point to my tagline? Damn straight, Skippy . . . LOL

My favourite place to take my wife for dinner would have to be Topiary's on Derry Road in Malton. We have been there twice, and both times it was perfect. The food is great, but the service . . . impeccable. Best of all, in a full dining room you never here the conversations next to you intruding on yours. Somehow (acoustic tiling?), everything beyond your table is simply a dull murmur. A truly wonderful experience. Thanks, you make me want to go again.

My favourite booze is Vodka, and I like to think I am somewhat of a connoisseur. MY favourite lable is Vincent van Gogh Triple wheat Vodla (Dutch) followed very closely by Still Waters Single Malt Vodka (Canadian). Both are fantastic, light years beyond Grey Goose.
  • What is your crystal ball telling you about the economy in the near future?

What would you say the most important/significant worldwide event has been during your lifetime so far?

I think that I am not educated enough to have a clue what is going to happen. that said, I think the biggest hindrance to any recovery might actually be the constant failure of the US government to actually do something with regard to long term fiscal responsibility. Their entire process seems to have devolved into "us" v. "them" on every level. I truly think that Ron Paul, or someone of his ilk, is DESPERATELY needed to bring back some sort of focus on the Constitution of the United States, and operating the government within those parameters. a burgeoning US economy would go along way to righting whatever wrong the Euro-zone may inflict on the world.

I am going to say the removal of the Berlin Wall. The collapse of the Wall, symbolizing as it did, the end of the Soviet Bloc, meant that the Western Democracies won the Cold War. It also meant that we moved a few steps back from the possibility of total annihilation. My daughter has no concept of the political tensions of that time, and I am glad of it. I remember the articles about the Pershing II missiles being installed in Germany, the response from Moscow, and the sabre rattling from Reagan. I also remember SALT, SALT 2, and the START talks. Moreso than the internet, and it's bastard love-child, social media, the collapse of the Wall was probably the most significant event of my lifetime . . . so far.
  • Good night folks . . . any further questions will be answered tomorrow, either before or after work.
  • Do I really remind you of Fed in personality and playing style?

    What is your favorite Berry?

    Italy or France?

Sorry, but you did . . . that said, my "reads" are not so great, though Costanza cracked my Aces in the Forum game with 44 last night.

    Halle Berry . . . no offence to Chuck or Franken, but . . . she's HALLE BERRRY !!!

I think I am going to go with Italy. I like French wines better, but Italian art, Rome, the Vatican . . . given unlimited resources, I think I could get lost in Italy for quite some time.
  • Fill in the blanks of these sentences:

I would be most afraid to ______ with CPFer ________ because _________.

I would most like to ______ with famous person ________ because _______.

If I had to choose the thing I dislike about myself the most, it would be _____ because _______.

To create the best future possible, we as human beings need to ________.

Should Wetts wear high heels if/when he looses?

Fill in the blanks of these sentences:

I would be most afraid to live with Cerberus because knowing a small amount about his personal life, and having met him briefly irl, leads me to believe that I would not be safe should I ever fall asleep. Thus, I would slowly go mad . . .

I would most like to speak with Jesse Owens because I would dearly love to know what it felt like to ram a metaphorical boot up Hitler's ass in 1936. First alternate would Nelson Mandela to find out how he stopped himself from taking retribution on his former captors.

If I had to choose the thing I dislike about myself the most, it would be to put paid to my apathy because I find myself at times to be very unhappy because of it.

To create the best future possible, we as human beings need to remember Mark's tagline . . . life IS simple, even if it isn't always easy.

Example . . . no one can infuriate me like my wife, with the possible exception of my daughter (well, that "4" on the turn lat night came close). But I love them more than my own life so, no matter the slight, it really is inconsequential in the overall scheme of things.

Wetts, ainec . . . NOBODY wants to see you in a dress, Koby . . . TRUST ME.

Oh, I think heels are a given, aren't they? I mean, if you're playing the drag queen, play it the hilt, dahling . . .

Really? I thought you said you would enjoy being dressed up as Mr. Potato Head!
  • Would you go flying with JohnnieH?

Of the non female PFC members, who would look best in a dress? Please answer in essay form for all of our amusement, making sure to provide full details.

How do I get awesome facial hair like you? Every pic I've seen, you can have a badass mustache, goatee, beard and all things between. It tilts the hell out of me!
  • Looking back on your younger days, what is the one thing you wish you either did or learnt to do before you got this old??

What's left on your bucket list??

Have they successfully removed the horseshoe you shoved up your arse for the HU tourney?

Which forum member, in your opinion, provides the best strategy posts? Which member has improved the most since your tenure? Who do you want to see win a major tourney (not including yourself)?

I would absolutely go flying with JohnnieH. One of my best friends got his licence through Air Cadets, and I am still very pleased that I was there to watch his first solo circuit at Brampton Flying Club. I was also allowed to go with him for a second circuit, as his Instructor Pilot knew my Father through hockey. Not sure if that was kosher with the regs, but this was 25+ yrs ago, so I think the statutes have lapsed by now.

Though I always thought I looked good in my Ceremonial Kilt, you specified "dress", so here goes . . .

I think the best drag queen on this site would probably be the DrTyore himself. I say this for a number of reasons which I will expand upon now.

Mark is a decent looking man (no homo) for his age, and you cannot have a pretty drag queen without a pretty boy. Further, he keeps his hair short enough so that all manner of wigs become possible as accessories, and his complexion makes facial hair less problematic (Movember fund-raisers notwithstanding). Though somewhat stocky of torso, we all know that this can be easily controlled with modern foundation garments (right, Shatner?), so Mark's "figure" should not be an issue. Moving lower, Mark's predeliction for dropping trow has provided evidence of a decent set of gams which we can shoehorn into a pair of slut-strutting heels. Finally, Mark's outgoing personality, and sky-high self-confidence and braggadocio pretty much guarantee he would "own the room". Dress Kristy in a three button suit, and snap-brim fedora, and I guarantee a win at most Hallowe-en costume parties.

Facial hair can be over-rated, especially when grey like mine. Besides, there is a fine-line between "bad-ass" and "it's too long, trim it." Be happy you can still grow it on top of your head, and worry less about your chin.

I have always wished that I never bothered applying for that first Credit Card. I went fiscally insane in my early 20's, and it was only about 10 years ago that I finally returned to the financial discipline that my parents taught me growing up. Any other regrets (school, career) pale in comparison to the financial security I cost myself, and by extension my family, in the name of "having a good time".

What's left on your bucket list??

I am not really into "bucket lists". I have always wanted to visit Vimy Ridge, but my life will not be worse off if I do not do so. about the only thing I would say I really wish to experience is walking my daughter down the aisle on her wedding day, and holding a grand-child in my arms.
Have they successfully removed the horseshoe you shoved up your arse for the HU tourney?

Well, when I went for my 'scope, the only thing they found was that the Colitis was back with a vengeance, so I am once again taking medications, and hoping like hell the biopsy comes back "negative". As for the horseshoe, you could have found out by NOT CANCELLING THIS WEEK'S GAME.

Which forum member, in your opinion, provides the best strategy posts?

This site has a strat section? Seriously, I read the strat section so infrequently. Some people whose "game" I respect say darb is good with strategy (I am assuming he uses English in the strat forum). for myself, I enjoy "talking poker with Wetts, Koby, GarryC, yourself. All of you share one thing in common, namely that you do not talk down to a person of lesser skill when discussing the game. And you do not act like a particular point should be self-evident.

Which member has improved the most since your tenure?

Improved in what way? As a player? As a contributor? Player-wise, you could take your pick from the OPT crew, I guess, especially when it comes to "big" event scores (hello Koby, Pudge). As a contributor, I think it would be presumptuous of me to make that case, although I will mention Costanza . . . simply because this version is night and day when compared to Fed/Epic_donk.

Who do you want to see win a major tourney (not including yourself)?

I will say that I would like to see you win something decent at a casino sometime. Not because I think you have become a such a great player, but simply because week in and week out you invite idiots like me into your home for no other reason than that we all like to play poker. I think that is an incredibly generous thing.

Is Compuease REALLY older than the 10 Commandments?

How many times do you people need to hear this? Compuease is NOT older than the 10 Commandments. That was his grandfather "Abacusease". I do have it on good authority that Compuease does have an autographed copy of the Bible, however.

"Milo wins" software. Personally, I have never understood the whole FTP is better than Stars because of the software . . . isn't it all poker? Is it just the visuals? Just give the one where the players are all worse than I am, okay?

I said before the Games started that SI was pretty accurate with their predictions, and they called Canada to win 15, so I will say "under", but hope that I am incorrect. Couple more today for the team . . . Yay us.

Flying cars? Not gonna happen. Now, flying cats . . .
