I have a couple of places that may work. I will know by Wednesday or Thursday. if there is a cost, West Side Poker Club will pick up the tab and we will see most of you at our next tournament. LOL
Well we are still working on a couple of places for the original Apr 21st, one that Moose is still looking into and another place that Brent has come up with in Guelph. Only problem there is it is an underground club but they will let us have it there at no cost, likely so they get a chance to show of for potential future business. I am going to physically have a look at it next week to determine suitability.
If both of these don't pan out then we are looking at a new date (most likely May 5th in Milton), or just putting it off until the fall...

It may just be a matter of postponing. I don't think I could wrangle up a team for HBK on the 5th. Also, more than one person has mentioned that the Milton site has done this before? I don't recall myself, but surely they should be kissing our ass to make it up to us?

Because of some of the noise and carrying on outside at the last one, I had to pull strings to even try to book it...
If HBK can't make it, too bad, losing the regular bubble team won't be the worst thing in the world...:bs:
Just getting a chance to take a look at this thread now - will check with my team but am still unclear what I'm proposing: change in venue same date? May 5th same venue? May 12th same venue?
Without consulting my team, I know most would like to go forward with this event this Spring rather than waiting for fall. Also, if one or more teams can't make it, there are enough FAs that could band together to make one and we (Grinders) know several folks that could pull out a fairly decent team as well.
PS - if alternate location(s) are available for the 21st, that would be ideal. Also, if extra $$ is needed to cover venue cost, I'm sure we'd be willing to kick a bit extra.

So here it is, I have spoken with Brent and he has another possible place in Guelph (Golf course meeting room) for the 21st or we go with the Milton location for May 5th. It comes down to one of those and will be decided by tomorrow evening. We will know about the Guelph location then. Captains please express your opinion as I will make the decision with what info I have by then. Even if we don't have 8 teams we are going ahead with one date or the other.

My team is good with whatever venue is available on the 21st. If the the game gets moved to May 5th, my team would be out two players (including myself). So chances are our team would be out for the may 5th date. I could certainly try to fill the extra two spots for the 5th, but I would have talk to my team.

As Brent said the beloved Royal has been resurrected on the same date as was originally scheduled, Apr 21. We are a go. This is to be held at a golf course near KW/Wloo airport, location to be pm'ed to captains tomorrow. There is a choice of two rooms which I am attempting to have a look at tomorrow to determine best suitability. Apparently tables and chairs are being provided so bonus there. The room itself is free so that's good. Only issue is we can't bring food or drink into the establishment but it will be for sale at their snack bar... We provide the cards/chips, etc. I will determine if we can use table toppers, etc tomorrow.
If anyone can think of anything else to check on when I am there tomorrow please let me know...
Ok had a good look at the venue this evening and it looks great... At least 50% more room, lots of tables (same as Milton location) and better chairs...
Private room, overlooking the golf course, licensed snack bar right outside the room. Only think is we aren't supposed to bring food/drinks in with us as they are providing the venue free of charge, thanks Brent...
It's a nice place and I wouldn't mind using it in the future so we need to be on reasonably good behaviour if you know what I mean...
Pumped about this as I think you are all going to really like it, basically 5 or 6 minutes off the 401 at Hyw 24. Exact location to be pm'ed to each captain, please do not post it on PFC.

The wife is starting to plan out weekends for April and May, and if you guys don't come up with something soon, I'll have to spend time with family.
