Stick around young fella, lots of stuff to learn on this forum.

    Oh, wait. (just kidding Jah)
  • AJ, obviously took his indoctrination into the cult of the chip more seriously than I did.

Other chipsets are what you might call FANTASY casino chips. These would include the Pharaohs, Dunes, Palms, LePaulson Noir, etc, as well as custom made chips.

When Steve Wynn demo'ed Dunes Casino in the 90s, he didn't bother to remove any of the stuff in the casino. When the clean up crew was removing the rubble, they found thousands of chips in the debris. The were salvaged, and are now considered a collectors item. I have a $5 :)

The Dunes chips in production now are very similar to the real chips Dunes used.

  • I always liked the square chips used in the EPT Paris events. Not sure if these are only common in France? Any idea what a decent square chip set starts at? That be a pretty cool cash game set!

By square do you mean rectangle? Those are called plagues. They are mainly used in Europe, and cost around $3 each.

Fixed it for you. Plaques are also very high denomination values. I believe the WPT Paris had them as 100k and 250k (iirc).
  • love those plaques, i plan to get a set when i've got some disposable income. i want to grab a set of pharoah chips and pharoah plaques.

Plagues? Isn't that what wiped out half of Europe in the 1300's? Don't think I want to play with that...

QFT. Moose has PCA Plaques (and possibly others, idk). KingThor has Cash game plaques in the Runner Runner Room. They were very nice to acquire (during play), and made a suitable impression when you slid one out to the pot.
  • Crazykoby rebuy game we ran out of chips, out came the plaques.

Thanks, yes those are what I like to get. Too bad you can't get them in lower denominations for a cash game set.
