I consider it an essential part of my poker book collection just because it's well………. SUPER SYSTEM 2. I have the hard cover version earned by getting 10,000 points at Doyle’s Room. Thank God I can stop playing there now! Full Tilt here I come.
My thoughts on the book:
1. The History stuff and "My Story" by Doyle is great for Poker buffs (ME!)
2. The online section is a total joke and a shameless plug for the very shitty Doyle’s Room
3. Mike Caro’s section is the very best in the book IMOs Anything Caro says should be taken to heart by any serious poker player.
4. Wished they had a section on RAZZ by TJ! (This never would happen I know)
5. The No-limit Holdem section offers very little that the original did not, just cleaner and easier to read really.
6. Jennifer’s section is OK at best. She is no Sklansky but does have some good insights into Limit Holdem.
7. Daniel’s section is good but who the hell plays deuce to seven enough to make use of it?
8. Lyle Berman’s section is good and very solid.
9. Everything else is OK at worst and some of it ever really good.
Doyle is the Man and anything he writes or recommends with is welcome in my poker library. I still can’t understand “Doyle’s Room†but whatever I guess.
