Question for those who have it... what is the cover like? Is it paperback? I got mine through Doylesroom.com a few weeks ago and the edition I have is nice hardcover. Just wondering if there are different editions.

My copy is paperback, and looks identical to the first supsersystem I got, also from Chapters.ca. It is black with big font on front stating 'SuperSystem 2".
It was $34.96 CDN, minus 10% for the chapters rewards program.
I have my copy as well, but I have had NO time to even look thru it. I heard its got a lot of the same chapters, some revisons and new chapters added in with the old. A must own for any poker collection.
Maybe I'll wait for a second-hand book, or for the library to get it. SS1 was.... zzzzzzz.
SS1 was also written over 20 years ago, long before the "poker boom" and all the exciting new theories and strategies and poker books. It was THE poker book for a hell of a long time.
I haven't seen it on amazon.ca yet. It is on amazon.com. The photo on chapters.ca is the cover that never happened and even the description still says 'Danny Niegro' but if people are receiving them, it must be for real.
Does anyone have any inside info on when you can order it from amazon.ca? I'd much rather deal with them than chapters.

Yup I realize that. I just didn't like it as much as most people seem too (still). I'll still try and read SS2...
The books are different.
The collaborators Doyle got for the 2nd edition are not the same people who wrote the chapters in the original Super System.
For those who get the paperback copies, i would think it is hard to hide a stack of high society in the book no?? I know the hole I cut out in my old hard copy fits a wad of cash nicely.
If i could just get back my Caros' tells videos from some degenerate who went broke a few years ago, Id have enough hiding place for my whole bankroll.

This reminds me, I think the forum could use a new section: "Where Do You Hide Your Cash". I bet that section would just be chock full of threads.

Posting in that thread would be crazy dude.
Let's stick with publically broadcasting information about running home poker games & tournaments that qualify as common gaming houses, bragging about poker income in case the CRA is watching, and discussing where to get all the latest pirated poker TV programs. And leave it at that.

LoL @ this being the funniest thread Hi-Jacking this week!!!
The content looks to be mostly new. This does not look to me like Super/System, 2nd Ed. A possible exception (though it still looks at least significantly reworked even if not exactly rewritten at a quick glance) might be Doyle's No-Limit Holdem chapter, but I doubt this is a bad thing as many have called Doyle's SS1 chapter the best thing ever written on NLHE.
I haven't yet seen an exact breakdown of the contents myself anywhere, so here's the chapter/author list FYI.
1. Introduction- Doyle Brunson
2. My Story - Doyle Brunson
3. The History of No-Limit Texas Holdem - Crandell Addington
4. Online Poker - Doyle Brunson
5. 43 Exclusive Super/System 2 Tips from Mike Caro University - Mike Caro
6. Specialize or Learn Them All? - Steve Zolotow
7. Limit Holdem - Jennifer Harman
8. Omaha Eight-or-Better - Bobby Baldwin
9. Seven Card Stud High-Low Eight-or-Better - Todd Brunson
10. Pot-Limit Omaha High - Lyle Berman
11. Triple Draw - Danny Negreanu*
12. Tournament Overview - Doyle Brunson**
13. No-Limit Holdem - Doyle Bronson
14. World Poker Tour - Steven Lipscomb
Though Johnny Chan is mentioned in the marketing (and on the back cover), he merely wrote the 2 page preface. I was originally looking forward to his "contribution" and now I feel so used.
Nothing in here by Sklansky, even though I had heard his name mentioned here and there as being one of the possible authors.

*Covers both the Ace-5 and 2-7 variations. Glad to see that Danny Negreanu got the nod over Danny Niegro.
**A very short chapter (about 10 pages) with Doyle's overall approach to the WSOP main event format specifically.

Well, maybe we could add a new section where those of us that suck (read: on a bad run lately) could pawn some of their (or their wife's) stuff to build up the bankroll....

From the SS2 product description on Amazon.com:
"This is a brand new book-not an update."

Just kidding, CRA.
Who loves ya.
I do, that's who...

I just got my copy of SS2 about 10 minutes ago.

Enjoying it so far. The limit holdem section by Jennifer Harman was interesting.
