Because the Alderney Gaming Control Commission has become a joke and is more interested in the £250,000 owed to them by FTP than the hundreds of millions owed to players around the world. :rage:

The Executive Director of AGCC broke his promise that “AGCC’s choice to hold a public hearing in to the future of Full Tilt Poker demonstrates our willingness to act transparently and we will welcome members of the public and the media. As ever at all times, our primary concern is the protection of the player.” :bs:

Full Tilt Poker Players left Fuming at Alderney Gaming Commission Circus
  • Well, we all know what hundreds of millions of dollars in assets mean: these so-called "gaming commissions" are bought and sold. The only real surprise is that AGC suspended Full Tilt's licence in the first place instead of merely burying its tonsil deeper in Full Tilt's anus.
  • Fack!, I am starting to miss playing stt's on full tilt :(.
  • I shipped my WSOP seat and they never processed it in time even though they said they would.

Do we have the right to claim funds forfeighted to the DOJ? Since there is no Canadian class action vs FTP whats our next step?
  • Unfortunetly, everything points to twiddle thumbs and wait. There are thousands of thousands of players and so far nothing that will "work" or force these guys to pay has surfaced. As one poster pointed out, it's not that Canadians couldn't sue or start their own class action, at the end of the day chasing these guys across various jurastictions and across the world would cost more than you would recover.

And courts are very slow. Hopefully thry fix things on their own, because it seems like the only real way anybody will see any cash.

You don't have to look very far to see a player that has a legal battle with a poker company closer to home that hasn't delivered and several years in... it isn't resolved.

I promiss you I will be looking at everysource I can in next 24 hours, but so for we know a few things for sure:

They haven't paid their licensing fees
Rumors point to Investors only being intrested in their overseas assets that have a "potential" future and posibility of return

The US players are first in line and waiting longer, possibly plenty of their FTP pro's, advertisers and affiliates as well. They won't be able to make any future money of these people, so there is no fear of loss in the face of crisis. They still have major penalties to pay to avoid going to jail. 10-1 they choose to look after themselves first.

Canadians still have value, but if they don't take care of the above, they can't sell to us either, so back to square one. At the end of the day if your house gets taken away, you aren't getting it back, do you countinue making the payments? Same boat for them. They are just looking for away out.

Bottom line, you can't take blood from a rock and FTP is broke.

    IMO.
  • Thanks Jontm. Some good podcast on Quadjacks Radio right now. Did Howard really pay T brunson as per his twitter regarding FTP money?
  • My guess is that, the second Black Friday happened, Full Tilt knew they were going to shut down permanently and continued fraudulently soliciting deposits. The non-payment of the licence fee to AGC was part of Full Tilt's long-term plan and not something they didn't foresee. Like all financial criminals, they'll get away with it.
  • Read Ivey borrowed 10 million from Full Tilt since 2009.
  • FULL TILT POKER
    (MOHAWK TERRITORY OF KAHNAWAKE – July 29, 2011) –
[FONT=Arial,Arial][FONT=Arial,Arial]The Commission has granted an application to renew the Secondary Client Provider Authorization ("Secondary CPA") held by Kolyma Corporation A.V.V. ("Kolyma"), operating as "Full Tilt Poker", effective August 1, 2011 for a term of two (2) years.
To maintain a Secondary CPA, a licensee must maintain a valid licence to operate interactive gaming that has been issued by a comparable jurisdiction (the "primary jurisdiction"). Accordingly, the Commission is closely monitoring the proceedings being conducted by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (the "AGCC") concerning the eGambling Licences held by Filco Limited, operating as "Full Tilt Poker". The AGCC has confirmed to the Commission that, although the eGambling Licences held by Filco Limited are presently suspended pending the outcome of a hearing, these licences are still considered to be valid.
Presently, Full Tilt Poker is not offering gaming to the public, or accepting player deposits, from servers that are located within Kahnawake or under the Commission’s supervision.

  • Timeline for those interested, with some key points that paint the whole picture IMO:

Full Tilt Poker Shut Down? Recap of Events
  • If they get rid of that fucktard Bitar and whoever else fucked up the accounting and fraud and whatever, be closely monitored by this commission or whoever and they say everything is on the straight and narrow I may go back to play IF they ever come back.
  • Realistically, whether someone buys FTP or not, you have to assume that any $$$ on that site is gone forever. Why would any new owner feel obligated to pay off what are, in essence, unsecured creditors? Doubt there is any legal way to force a new owner to pay up, either . . .

no idea how this works but i can't imagine an owner trying to start a company by buying a market that just got ripped off by the same company....
  • The main business reason that a new FT ownership should pay back the players is that if the do not, they will surely lose the players to other online poker sites (the migration has already happened for those that still play online poker at all). No players, no profits.

although the weird thing is that only the clueless and new people would play there which would make it a great spot for the sharks to play....???

Morally, yes they should. As far as retention, they are out of the US market, so they won't get those players back, it a debt they need to recover somewhere else.

A few sources point to the new investors only wanting the Europe market.
As far as Canada goes, those, like my good freind that missed the Main Event after winnning a seat, prob wont go back either....

Last time I looked UB was still in business. How many people were paid back after THAT rip-off. The reconstituted FT (under a new name, natch) would start small but would build quickly, thanks to the software.

Please see my earlier post. People went back/never left UB. Why would it be different now?
  • I agree... Milo has great points

Come on your not that stupid, keep it on the low as to why you should be going back to play on a certain site.

    On the flip side.......

But it is a good thing to help the odd few and the rest on this forum won't get it anyway.
  • Full Tilt has paid it's $410,000 to AGCC

  • US lost it's S&P AAA rating, so who is the better risk right now: FTP, or the US of A?
