hey Ottawaplayer - i just got an email from Bally's with an offer to upgrade from South Tower to North Tower for $ 10 per day. That would be a total of $ 50 over the course of 5 nights. Do you think it is worthwhile?
Wow, that's amazing. I'm looking to go to Vegas for 3 nights w/ my gf. I've been using Expedia to look for deals and so far I've found a decent (at least what I think is decent) deal for 3 nights at luxor (fri-mon), flight included, for around $680 each.
I'm a total Vegas n00b though so I'm not sure if this price is pretty standard (seems like it is).
If you are going as a couple (and hence paying for both) then you are far better off booking directly then booking one of the packaged per person deals.

Hi Animaux - I think that is a good deal, but it is really up to you... I do believe that the North Tower rooms are slightly bigger/nicer and it might be a shorter walk from the Strip. If that is really important to you, then take the offer versus attempting the $20 sandwich at check-in time (which may or may not work).
If a room is only for some sleep and a shower, then in the end the South Tower room may be fine. Perhaps check out TripAdvisor for some reviews and decide from there if you want to spend the $50 more.
I called Bally's and was told that the North Tower is up front and closest to the strip. It is also closer to the shuttle service between the Harrah hotels. These shuttles run hourly so I hope it isn't too inconvenient to use them.
The South tower is closer to the monorail and the Poker room but I'm not sure I'll be playing my poker at Bally's...

When you go to book your next Vegas trip, use both TR #s for the maximum discount. That's what we did to get all those COMPED nights.

Why do the site maps for hotels never show the actual hotel towers??
Getting excited now - good luck everyone!!
Sometimes there are videos on Youtube about the hotel you might want.
