    there all donkeys........
    i don't get the 2nd sentence
my table image is im unreal and really arrogant.....

what you think i can just rep aces

shoot me some scenerios on different answers to your questions
  • When I saw 88, I was looking for the guy behind you with an M of 7 or something that would take most of your stack and you didn't want to race for it.

Failing that, I was looking for the description of the maniac at the table that has been pushing every hand to bully the table and you didn't want to race for it.

Now I just realize you dislike putting money in ahead.

    Sarcastic? Maybe... right? Definitely

I don't mind folding pocket pairs - especially if you aren't solid post-flop. But, you should have a reason for pretty much any move you make. With a pocket pair, I'm raising it here, because aggression wins poker games. You're in middle position, you have 7 people behind you. You putting the pressure on them is fantastic, it puts you in charge of the hand. If you get played back at (i.e. re-raised), well, then re-evaluate. If you get callers, it still gives you the most chances to win the hand post-flop, including hitting your set and making a well-concealed monster hand. If it's a ragged board, you can steal it with a continuation bet, and if it's a scary board, you can minimize your losses.

Now, as for your fold, if your reason was that your table image was the arrogant, and I don't know what you mean by "unreal", you should probably avoid the chat box. The arrogant player gets people mad to make them make more mistakes, but that means the arrogant guy has to be able to out-play the others. As I said earlier, there are other (valid) reasons to fold this hand, or at least make an argument for folding it.

P.S. - calling is the worst thing you can do there.

being unreal and arrogant....had a small implied joke in it....:-\

UTG+1, which puts you in middle position of the table. (There are three players between you and the dealer to your right side, and five players between you on the left).

not sure if we are missing something here.....shows folded to you, correct?

I raise here 2.5x or so....don't think I'm folding here unless there's some extreme circumstance. Looks like a standard tourney, with stacks still pretty deep. The hand still has some postflop value even if called. With stack sizes, likely fold to most 3-bets, player dependant of course.

Folding pre is a little too nitty for me.

what i was saying here is if people are raising most of their pocket pairs here....then i saying i could 3bet jt.....and a continuation bet on the flop will most often take the pot.....

but im not arguing or saying im right...just discussing....not just interested in what to do ....also interested in what others do....

At this level...it is (always) villain dependant...unopened pot in middle position with these stacks..yeah, you can expect most to open with 77+..A 3 bet from button or lp will look strong, but also player dependant. You can expect 77+ to flat your lp 3 bet, monsters (and ak/aq possibly at this level) will likely 4 bet..
  • Who DOESN'T three bet with JT....

    At least sometimes!

pfff Amateurs...everyone knows 57o is what you 3bet with OOP. Ask Wolffhound, he'll tell you>:D

I don't know if you're trying to be funny or what but I simply meant what everyone has basically said in more words, that your post doesn't give us much information about the situation..

Usually if someone is folding 88 in an un-raised pot with an average stack there is some unique reason for it. You just posted the hand history and stated 'I folded this' in the subject of the thread and expect people to be able to give you some insight on what you should have done?

    Get a grip on reality.
