stt progress and ramblings the sequel

1st, if you don't like these kind of threads then f off and go to hell and don't read it then.

as the last one was one of the most popular threads and quite a few people asked me to keep doing it.

So started playing again, except so far bad start, nothing coming my way so far today, but afternoons not a good time to play and it's a long weekend so all the idiots will be out.

Next problem is don't know how long i will be able to play with this roll, depends what life throws at me.

But the idea is to go what worked last November and December, just starting off at the 2.25 level and hope to get to a certain point and then start to move into the next buy in's, but since it is starting off not too well might have to alter and start lower until it looks like good things are happening and jump right back to current level.

Just got to keep what is motivating me right now in the back of my mind during the bad games.:)

I really should not have stopped playing last week when I was doing good, 60% itm and 125% roi in a small sample, but defo going to play more when it's going good.

But at least I just finished so I can go grab a bite to eat and maybe lurk around this evening as I find evenings better time to play.

Hope to get into mid levels eventually where it will get interesting for the half of this forum that plays those levels, for now it is the other half I guess.

AK is the most over-played hands in all of Holdem.

Well been focused on the 18 man's, but may switch to 9 man's as running terrible the last 2 day's, switch er up here and there. :)

On a separate note I was cleaning up my ole laptop and still had screenshots from some good results on stars and full tilt, can't believe I actually got 1sts on stars, lol. 2 of em were the 6.60 6 max ones so maybe someday try those again.:)

Just need the run bad spread out, not like every game back to back and close together.

wooot, unless you have 10bb's and got no choice.;)

The last game, AQ and AK 8 times, think I lost all 8 times :/.

AQ use to be my favorite, remember winning a big pot in the degree poker championships with it.:)
  • When the heck did titan add extra time double or nothing stt's? Nobody playing them which is too bad cause it peeked my interest, I know it might hurt hourly by longer blind levels but still............
  • Good Thread. I primarily play SNG's on FTP (cdnpathfinder). Been running decent for me in the few games I've managed to play since yesterday, lots of donks making donk plays and my hands are holding up (Admittedly I've caught a break or two when I was behind). Sharkscope has me Super Hot right now, 1 win, 1 3rd, 4 2nds in my last 6 games. Now if I could consistently run this hot :-)

    good post and poster :).

Just cashed in a 27 man on stars, had to do a crazy fold with KK on a Q high flop, but that's stars, where you can only fold and can't bet for value. So once again I cash in a higher person tourny then a lower one, it's weird.

If you're cashing in higher person games (18, 27 and 45 I assume?) instead of 9 person games, it would make sense to play in more of those would it not? They take more time, but can be more worthwhile if it is more to your skill set. Generally speaking, and this is me with my barely any knowledge, I would say that means you're playing more patient and "eyes open" than in the STT's.

Ya I don't know, it goes back and forth, lol Like I ran a lil better on stars today then full tilt the last 2 days, if I am on a bad run in say 18 man's, I cash in 27 and 45 man's, just kinda weird that's all:). I hate the end game as it's kinda shove fest and you need to win races which makes me nervous, lol.

I am thinking of maybe trying the 3.40's on stars if I can ever get a bankroll together:rolleyes2:.

Teach me how you get deep in stars regular mtt's you!;)
  • Hot streak finally ended on FTP. Back to the grind. Ended up cashing in 7 straight, 2 1sts, 4 2nds, 1 3rd. Guess its back to the slow and steady climb on my graph.....
  • My running deep in tourneys goes as follows: play exactly the same way, bubbling around 1/2 the time. Then, at the end of 18 months, have one game go very well, make the final table and maybe even win. After that, repeat process. I'd suggest asking Wetts as his happens more often.
  • Just pretty much won a 18 man:).

It's something anyway, still not where i want to be.
  • Just won with AK Hobbes!!!

Knocked out 2 peeps, weeeeeeeee ship me the cookies:D
  • Hmmmmm, just looked at my total results and I have done better then I thought on stars in certain games, I also have more games played then I thought, last time I am sure i was only at 1600ish, now I am at 1900ish:o.

But the next level up, 3.40's I have done horrible in(which is not good as that was where I was looking to start at maybe in the future.), but at the 5.50 level I am back in profit and positive roi, another weird case, lol.
  • I see the ramblings, but where is the progress?

    garphs!

lol, just started, those might come later on if there is a later on! Need to get out of this bad run real fast...........:-[
  • fine, here you go, this is what I was talking about in post before yours, total of all 18 man's(1.20 level) played on stars, honestly it should even be more then this as there is quite a few just misses and as you can see at the end of the graph, it sucks right now and going in wrong direction.

    18mangraph.jpg
  • Something like 5 straight cashes, back to even anyway which is a miracle since I am running like crap still.
  • So a few more cashes, back over latest deposit!!! from almost 10 buy in's down to 3 buy in's up,lol. so I am back to original starting buy in level which is good and I am up 2% roi overall the last 2 sessions. :) nothing worthwhile to talk about money wise yet.

I have found the time to play on full tilt, in the evening, my god it is a gold mine some nights.

Still running meh once in the money, I just can't get the top places but I am going in the right direction at least. Last game I went out early, I had a full house but other guy had better full house, sigh :(.

I am stacking tables, just starting off slow getting used to it but I can't play many tables at once on full tilt cause it is such a resource hog, my computer kept freezing off and on and I only had 2 tables open:o.

As for stars I am back to even on there from latest deposit I did, but I don't think I will be on there and looking for another back up site to play on.

    Numbers:

    Full tilt

    19 games played

    13.4% roi

42.1% in the money( 2 bubbles so far)
  • You have to learn to play 8+ tables or this is just a waste of time
  • GTA Poker wrote: »

I never ever seeing playing that many tables for regular sessions, I played that many on stars for double or nothing's clearing a bonus(played like 16 at once lol).

I was just experimenting with 4 tables on full tilt, seemed everything was normal but my memory is so high at like 87%, cpu is at 20-30% as I had task manager open to see, anyone got suggestions on how to lower the memory?

But yes GTA I want to boost how many tables I am playing a lil bit. I am aiming for 4, if by some chance I get used to that then 6 but I don't think I will go over that.

Multitabling is a bad idea going thru bad runs also, kinda back and forth right now for me but a smidge in the running o.k. so starting to look at boosting number of tables.

But the original plan may be stalled as I might have to withdraw some of the bankroll( if not all of it,extra expenses this month, booo).
  • 6 would be a good goal then...you would be surprised how easy it is to play 12+ with table ninja...of course, your computer would have to be able to handle it

ya, I may play tonight so I will see how it goes, I will just keep adding a table if it looks like the computer is running o.k. :).

Good thing about full tilt is they ask if you want to reg for another tourny so just 1 click and the registering part is done.
  • Jesus christ guys, why can't I win important flips?:(

Wish I can run like Mark or actyper in a mtt. :P
  • So bumped up number of tables a lil bit, no problems with lag or anything, so happy with that, right now i came out even and still playing in the last game so ok I guess, just wish fucktards would stop hitting everything, then it would be perfect.
  • So Phili. how about a recounting of how you analyze your game. This is one of my worst points. when I have time I just want to play even though I know I would do much better if I took the time to analyze my play more before and after getting into the mixer.

Do you have hands that you over play? (like losing large with JJ but making money with TT and QQ)

How is your VPIP/PFR ratio? do your results change as the ratios change in a session? - I find that of course I'm more profitable (relatively) when more aggressive with the PFR. When playing in my comfort zone I'm about 18/8 but losing. when I can get around 22/15 then I actually do better. Though I really wish I could be one of those guys at 40/30 as it looks like a lot of fun but I don't have the post flop skills yet to make that work.

So how often do you get in there and do the analysis on your play? do you use the leak finders in HEM or like programs?

    keep it up.
