Victoria Day because it always falls around my birthday so I get a holiday on my birthday.
My elbow is gone from a frisbee ultimate injury which pretty much ruined my softball playing days as well. Playing catcher SUCKS. The worst potential injury came when I was about 10. I was walking along the top of a picket fence, the ones with the pointy ends. Slipped and missed taking out the boys by the slimmest of margin, though I have a large scar on the inside of my leg from the stake.
$30-50 I think on Tiger Gaming. I won their last 25k Sun tourney. $100 I think on Pokerroom, 2nd place.
The Tiger gaming money I rolled some of that into chips and the thieves who hacked my accounts got about $3500. The Pokerroom money was stolen from me by Ongame so I never got a dime. Those two events pretty much finished me from playing heavily online anymore.
Huge theme park fan. Definitely making it to Primm to ride Desperado this trip to Vegas. Did Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point a few years ago. I spent 3-4 summers working at Canada's Wonderland. I operated Wilde Beast, so that is my sentimental favourite.
Top Thrill 420 ft high:
Favourite memory. I don't know why but I distinctly remember the sound of tearing off a sheet of wax paper. Every time I hear that sound I remember my mom making me my lunch for school.
Favourite place for fries is in front of the Metro Convention Centre, downtown Toronto. Always try to stop in on the way to the Jays game. Best thing is to carry them into the dome and having 1/2 dozen people stop and ask where you got them. Sukahs!
Have not seen one boobie in Vegas that didn't belong to someone I was married to.
Here is the 'secret menu'. You will need a cab to get to one of these.
IN-N-OUT Burger
This:
43 mm oversized. It was like $20 or $22 US. I'm a set collector, not an individual collector. So the only single chips I have are ones I like for a particular reason or because I played at that casino.
Well my house would be worth the most. Most valuable to me is my grandmother's bookcase which I use to store my chips. It is the one thing I asked for when my grandmother died.
Meeting Shar at the Royal was pretty good. I would rate her as most interesting because I guess because what the hell would motivate her to travel to Kitchener just to play poker and meet a bunch of people she only knew on the internet. That's interesting.
ScottyZ. I keep missing him at BCC and have even played in the same tourney at Zithals before and still missed meeting him. I wonder what he is up to.
You've graduated right? Do you want to end up like Mark, driving a babe repeller car and living in your mother's basement? Just let Mark serve as a warning to you.
If I guess right, do I win a prize?
Contest ended a while ago. Too late.
How many days am I expecting?
Do I have to pay COD for duties/taxes?
Have you ever pissed your pants?
I mean, apples, trees, and stuff..........
Anything you would recommend?
If you're building a set for cash games what would you buy if you're starting from scratch?
Have you ever played a game with plaques or 43mm's?
I hear Atlantic city is moving away from oversized chips, people seem to like the normal sized better.
comments?
I'm sure as a little guy I did. I remember one time we were watching old home movies (8 mm with the projector and everything) and although the camera was focussed on something else, I'm watching and in the background I see my younger brother with his pants around his ankles taking a leak. I point that out to my mom and say, hey did you even notice he was taking a piss in the background? America's Funniest Home Videos got cancelled right? Too bad.
I love my big chips. I also just got some plaques from Palm Gaming in a recent sale. If you want oversized ceramics and/or plaques, I would look at the Sunfly brand chips sold by Palm. It just depends on if you want to have something different and are willing to pay the extra cost for larger chips. They cost more to make for a home set and are rarer and harder to get from actual casinos.
Here's some 43mm $1k chips in play:
I also have 48 mm $5k and $10k chips. There is a $5k on the bottom of this stack.
Here is a size comparion. Std 39 mm, then 43 mm, 48 mm, and 50 mm monsters on the bottom.
Phasing out the oversized chips? Not sure, but here is a cool oversized chip that I had no idea CN had in play. I just acquired this chip last week.
They are obv rare chips but still you can find them in many casinos. I bought or own most of the chips for sale here:

The best bang for the buck is any of the compression molded chinese clays from the Chiproom link on chiptalk. It's the closest you can get to real clay casino quality chips. The chips are good. Be aware the inlays are just stickers.
If you have more money (like .60-.80 per) I would get a hot stamped set from here.

More time, money and patience? Then I would get a casino cash set. Especially if you are only going to be playing $1/2 and up, then you won't need fractionals. Those are the hardest to acquire and most expensive.
Here is a decent start:
Compression molded chinese clays $25 a rack:

Real Casino clay 400 for $260, you can get $25s and $100s from the Chiproom. The $100s are the ones I have in my cash set shown in an earlier post.

Piano Ceramic Chip Prerelease
Do you collect anything else? Hot wheels maybe? Do you have some special furniture or carrying cases for said dinky cars?
Deep thought time: Looking back what is one thing you would change and how? What is one thing (pos or neg) that you wouldn't and why?
Excellent point . . . other than sympathetic looks from friends, does your wife collect anything/have a hobby?
What do you do for a living (because, obviously, "CPF chip consultant" isn't paying the bills) ?
I have a nice collection of chips. The chips that I have compared to many others is nothing. I'm not even close to being 'a chip guy'. I couldn't even tell you what a 3A14 or whatever spot is and I don't know all the chip colours from sight, by name. iNano78 is the chip man. His stuff is 10x better than mine and he knows these things. So I didn't really want this thread to be about chips at the start but I have enjoyed it more than I thought. I think everyone should have nice chips so I certainly don't mind helping people that ask for guidance.
I have maybe 10000 baseball cards in a couple suitcases in my basement.
There is no one life changing moment I would redo at this point. Buy RIM at $5 a share maybe? Chip wise I can remember being in Vegas on my first trip there back in 1999 or so and wanting to get some chips. In the Tropicana gift shop they were selling a couple hundred casino chips in a carousel for maybe $50 and I went back several times to look at them but in the end I decided I didn't want chips with denoms on them and I bought 300 plastic super diamond chips for about the same price. I had a lot of fun playing casino games with those super diamond chips and I remember getting lots of compliments on them. But I sure wish I could recall what closed casino those chips were from. Probably Dunes or something that would be worth thousands now.
Ha ha, yeah she gets lots of those. She plays basketball in the winter, that's about it.
I teach at the Conestoga Institute of Technology and Applied Learning. What moron dreamed up that name?
I jinxed myself. Got snagged by customs on the last package I received. Brokerage was only $5 but taxes brought it up to $25 or so.
