Keep in mind that the reason they might not yet be in Canada might be due to provincial regulations? I don't know this for a fact but I'm just throwing this out there as a possibility.

Possibly...I know they did get behind the BCPC in 2008 a little bit though.
Perhaps easier in native casinos?.....we have one here in Enoch, RiverCree Resort (which is pretty much in the city), and would have the room to hold an extra large poker tourney. Have to wait and see.....fingers crossed.
I would likely play any / all Canadian tournies.......US, not so much.

Won't happen out west (BC) here. BC Lottery Corporation is due to open their own online bs soon...and they aren't allowing ANY promotion of online sites or sponsorships here....hence no pokerstars at the BCPC's in 2009...
I know someone who spoke to the Tourney Director at Deauville (EPT) who mentioned the possibility of an NAPT event taking place at Rama and in Halifax this yr.

so weird. I was talking to dennis phillips at WSOPE in september, prodding him for NAPT info and he made mention of Halifax which was really random at the time and I thought for sure he must be mistaken because, with all due respect to halifax, its not exactly a travel destination to lure ppl in.

pleased to be staked to take my home casino one down if that is indeed true;)

Never been to Halifax......but a NAPT event may entice me (I do enjoy the odd Moosehead)
Sounds like there's fuel to the fire hearing Halifax twice from Pokerstar reps (I mean, c'mon, it's HALIFAX...didn't know anyone outside of Canada knew it existed).
Halifax is a "young" city that likes to party:
- there are at least 7 post-secondary schools including St. Mary's University, Dalhousie University and Mount Saint Vincent University. This means a lot of people aged 18 - 25.
- there are enough bars/pubs/liscensed establishments to visit one per day and never see the same place twice!

heh, i can see it now... "PokerStars NAPT Halifax...beer bongs for everybody! ...as long as its not a school night or midterms" Again, not a dig at Halifax, but its an awfully weird choice for an NAPT event if it does come to fruition considering the venues they already have. Mohegan Sun (2nd largest casino in the US) and Venetian (VEGAS!). Halifax would look sorely out of place.
I fully expect Stars to buyout the CPT within the next month or two to get the NAPT really launched in Canada. Its either that or they go directly to the casinos on the CPT roster that they want, and work backroom deals with them individually as the CPT doesnt have long term contracts with the casinos anyways.
They announce a tour and add an event which is taking place to the tour. Then announce two more locations one in February and one in April not much of a tour so far as far as I'm concerned. With Pokerstars behind the tour should hopefully be a success numbers where great at Venetian, however would be nice if more events were announced. Lets hope we see something up here as it is called the NAPT, but with the government run casinos I'm not holding my breath.
Just had a chat with Jeffrey Haas, he said it is highly likely that Canada will have a stop on the NAPT in the near future. Look for an announcement of 2 additional US stops in about a month's time.
Just saying...
And it is almost certain the Canadian stop is in Halifax from what I've heard.

But I was like Halifax? What, I guess they have good seafood.
