while your down there you should get a total rewards card from any harrahs properties. you automatically get cheaper rates when booking through their site and usually a promo once a month for 2-3 free nights.

plus if you use it in their poker rooms i think you get a dollar an hour comps
  • Booked to arrive on Feb 16 late night. Right now planning to leave on the 19th or 20th and head to Vancouver, but haven't booked an outbound flight yet as I'm going to try to satellite into the Venetian NAPT stop and see what happens over the next few days (especially this Sunday with the 25 seat guaranteed on Stars)
  • I was going to Vegas march break but new job = no Vegas :(
  • next week the folks are off to vegas, sister and her son going to disney land at same time.

Not too sure about this flying stuff.............

some of this, the folks just got a promo from bally's, 3 free nights feb. 15-17 and free entry into their video poker tournament.

The free nights can be used at bally's, rio, Harrah's, etc etc

Well I can negotiate but I would be negotiating myself out of a good job! :P
  • BTW 25% off 4 nights at Harrahs sale, so my trip just got cheaper again!

It wasn't free.... :) comps are never free...

Considering I haven't played there since...I don't even know when, it's pretty much free to me :D (definitely didn't play there the last 2 trips - July 09 for WSOP and April 09 when I didn't play at all)
  • A friend gave me a comp coupon for 2 nights at the Flamingo and then there was a problem switching everything from Harrahs to the Flamingo. Anyways it's all straight now and they gave us an additional discount for the last 2 nights at the Flamingo.

    So Feb 14-16 Bill's @ $27/n
    Feb 16-20 Flamingo @ $134.40 allin.

Currently at Harrahs.com there is an online contest. Min. prize is 10% off any Harrah's property room. You can enter every day.

Planning to do tourney's at Aria, Caesar's and Venetian Deep Stack.

Also code friend2 will get you 2 weeknights (Sun-Thurs) free at Caesar's Windsor for the next 3 weeks. You must call to book this. If you don't have a Total Rewards card already, then when you sign up they will also give you a free buffet.

    Wait. Wat?

Is this buy 1 get 2 free? Surely it's not just a straight 2 free nights is it?
  • 2 free nights. They must be hurting. No coupon or anything req'd. You just need the code.

Yup, I think a few of em are in trouble, folks are now getting deals for Harrah's other properties outside of vegas, lol
  • So the folks are back, don't have all the details but they stayed at the flamingo, there is a strip club right inside the hotel, lol.

Like 50 people outside trying to sell you shit and my mom was going to smack 1 chick if she asked 1 more time to buy something, hahahaha

Something about a beer basket? you can walk around with like 4 beers? Maybe you guys know more about this, details were not clear.

I know they had lunch at new york new york but still waiting to hear what other places they ate.

Will try to get more info for you Moose if your looking for the latest on vegas.

Off topic the other half the family comes back from Disneyland today, so I may go for the trip down to pearson, I will be in your guys hood:D
  • oh ya if you drink, bring lots of money, they said it was like 10 bucks a drink down there:o

Yep. You can carry around booze in the public. Shopping and drinkin' at the same time! Whoo hoo!

There's lots of touristy bars around. You pay through the nose for the drink, but it's HUGE and usually laced with booze.

    If you're gambooling, it FREE!

nope, they were gambling, they are all hurting down there, that's how they make there money now, food and drinks, there were a few people complaining about the price they were saying.

Sorry Philli that's wrong. Booze is free if you're playing poker, table games or (shudder) slots. Trick is put your money down first, get your drink, then you can take your money and drink and walk away. Now if you're ordering to shelf liquor....

As for hurting, Vegas sure was in 2009 but latest figures seem to show the start of a rebound...
Nevada Casino Gambling Revenue Finally Rebounds With Profit
  • I will check again, was going to say shelf liquor or some fancy drink they might have ordered
  • I'm just guessing, but I have to assume that one of the biggest regrets Vegas as a whole made was free drinks while you're gambling. Not sure when it began, but I know it's been a long time. Times have changed however and if they could withdraw from that decision now as a cohesive group without causing the most massive backlash in casino history...I'm sure they would.
  • Meh beer is cheaper than pop in the US and they are paying wholesale, not retail. If it's too much then the cheaper casinos give you draft and well drinks. The high end places give you anything you want. The reall killer for them right now is free Red Bull, only a handful of places give you that for free. BTW you can get smokes for free too.
