My goals were not set nearly as high, so I didn't post them here. But here's an update anyways
1. Get PT3 - Done
2. Sign up to a training site - Done (PP)
3. First 4 Figure Score - Done (1.9k)
4. Finish 2010 with overall >$5k profit - Well, we will see.... Im losing ground playing mtts though in the past month or so. I think my last 180 days my profit is around $2,500 between winner & stars, combining sngs & mtts.
Not quite playing in the wsop, but I am happy that I am crossing off things off my list... can only hope for more next year.
[ ] Try to win satellite package(s) to the WSOP, APT and WPT.
After half a dozen poker trips between 2008-2009 WSOP with my family never travelling with me, I lost my appetite for foreign events so I usually opted to keep the T$ for multiple qualifier wins instead of grinding the final satellites. I did win a package for the WPT Celebrity Invitational in 2011, with my family finally travelling with me.
[X] Play more Omaha tournaments (after considering cash games, SNG, heads-up, 6-max, etc. as the next game to study).
Even though I'm relatively clueless in Omaha and Limit HE compared to NLHE, my ROI is higher in both Omaha and Limit than NLHE MTTs!
[X] Have a positive ROI or at least a five-figure score in the Sunday Majors and other $150+ online MTTs.
Won a $160 buy-in MTT for over $9K.
[ ] Later find BALANCE in my life, as I'm grinding a lot now on the expectation that the poker opportunity will die out at some point like all the other booms.
I obsessively grinded too much online out of fear that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me that can disappear suddenly. Unlike previous years when I played many $550-$2K live tournaments in Ontario, I did not play a single hand of poker in a B&M casino in 2010!
