The Fallsview Poker Classic is on January 8-14, 2010. Unfortunately, it probably won't be a CPT event and there probably won't be any online satellites.
Step A:
- $120 (100+20), 16.7% rake.
- Only one winner, seat to $1,000 event.
- Only 1500 chips & only 10-minute blinds; not more than $90 satellite!
Step 2:
- $350 (315+35), 10% rake.
- Final three players each win seat to $1,050 Step 3 satellite.
- Only 5-minute longer blinds (15) and only same 1500 chips.
- Despite costing almost three times as much, this step may finish faster than the $120 Step A!
Nice Analysis ...
I don't see how step 2 would finish faster than Step A
I'd guess you can to win half to 1/3 of the Step 1 games and profitable ... But is it worth it?

Step 2 has 3 winners, Step A only one. Think this is where the difference is... All crapshoots for sure... If I played one of the Jan tournies it would be with $$ I've won elsewhere, eg the great structure Belwood tournaments or a hot streak while in Vegas next week. (or maybe just avoid the bad beats )
- The best alternative to high-rake crapshoot satellites is to find enough savvy players to play in a rake-free satellite with a better structure.
This is far and above the best alternative imo.
I can offer a $100 sat to the $1000 event. Would like to see the blind structure though to use in the sat. I'll set a date up and post here in the next day or two.
Blondefish, do you have a copy or link of the blind structure for these events?
Step 3:
- $1,050
- Saturday & Sunday only; all other satellites are daily.
Except for the $1,050 crapshoot, I mean satellite, all others are officially available everyday based on demand. For now, satellites will usually happen only on weekends when there are enough players willing to be recruited away from their cash games to fill up a 10-player satellite. Many of the cash game grinders made the blunder of procrastinating to play in the WPT satellites, then they ran out of time to win a seat.
Thanks. Will this blind schedule also be used for all three events?
Are there any special rules for those who make it to a Day 3 but are playing in a second event, or can I multi-table at will? I'm gonna need to start training to "run like Usain Bolt" between the tables!
I updated my OP with the Patience Factor and Skill Level of all the games. The good news is that all three events have very high Patience Factors and are worth playing. In fact, I estimate that it will take longer than twenty blind levels to finish. Just like I was able to figure out that the WSOP Main Event would break the money bubble on Day 4, if Fallsview does not play more than six levels each day, I doubt a 300-player event will finish by the shortened Day 3.
The bad news are ALL the FPC satellites. I may have to find another way to fund my three buy-ins. Stuffing envelopes, ponzi scheme, or auctioning off my first-born on eBay?
Does anyone know who the genius' are that plan the tournament structures in Ontario? No wonder why all the talent in Ontario flock towards the states. At least US gaming use some type of thought process when they design a tournament structure. Not like the idiot monkeys that run the casinos in Ontario.

I Purchased the $1000.00 voucher.
And the only satellite I play is the $350.00 try to win my seat to 5000 and 2500 event.
You're doing it wrong....
$1K starts with 5,000t
$2.5K starts with 10,000t
$5K starts with 20,000t
All three tournaments will have 60 minute blind levels.
Thanks!
Fine then, leave the tampon IN your ass. Now I remember why I gave up on this forum.

Pointless, IMHO
Ridiculous reason for a banning. ESPECIALLY on 2+2
13Cards, would it be possible to post the blinds structure for each event on THIS forum?
i for one appreciate the info you can give, even if it is not to do with the poker room i still like to hear what is going on overall at fallsview.

Why drive all the way to fallsview to try to bingo a G-note? Stay at home and win a couple $100 sit n goes online.
No matter what, you should remove the tampon. The string looks silly sticking out of your shorts..
Like I said...

So the diff is they removed the 25/50 level from the $5K tournament?
I think I you...
