Charity Polar Bear Dip
First off I’d like to thank Graham for being cool with me posting this thread up here.
Every year around this time I try and put something together for a local charity to help out in some way, usually its some sort of poker tournament or pool/dart fundraiser. This year I decided to go a little more extreme and have organized a Polar Bear Dip on Saturday Dec 20th at 11am at Sunnyside (Lakeshore Blvd/Parkside – Toronto). This years charity is Inn from the cold (Inn From The Cold - Home) which is a shelter that is open only during the winter season. I recently visited and spoke with them and they could definitely use the help.
At this time I would like to reach out to any forumers that would like to either participate on the 20th or would be kind enough to donate to this cause. If you’d like to participate and have a facebook account you can join by searching for this group ( 1st Charity Polar Bear Dip) or if you don’t you can PM me with a request. If you cannot make it but would like to donate you can do so numerous ways including Paypal, MB, Pokerstars, Fulltilt. You can PM me for details, Charity receipts from IFTC will be issued.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask and Happy Holidays to all.

Lemme think on it

LOL.. I'd figure you and Kristy are crazy enough.
I have always wanted to try this. I may give it a shot while I still have the balls to take the plunge. I am given to understand that, afterwards, I will NOT have the balls for anything else for some time. I will let you know by tomorrow.
Also, on a side note, last longer bets?
Possibly to see if ANYTHING changes size?
Put me down for $20 Milo...you're a braver man than I!
Do women know about shrinkage?!? In all seriousness, I just hope they drop back down afterwards. Brrrrrrrr . . .
Media, coverage? I may have to wear my Pokerstars tuque . . .
Voodoo, is there some sort of printable sposor sheet somewhere. Sure make it easier to keep track, and ensure people get their receipts. Please advise.
Milo.. I have a donation sheet that needs some fine tuning but will be done tonight, just trying to finish a clients corporate tax return today. Can you PM me your email addy and I will get you everything tonight.
Average water temperature in Lake Ontario yesterday was a brisk 4 Celcius. According to one chart, hypothermia in 15 - 30 minutes. I'm going to try and last 10. Anybody else?
Air temp Saturday will be around -8 Celcius.
I'm going in just to keep warm!!!
My plan was to drive down to TO Friday night (there's NO way I can get up early enough on a Saturday to make it), but with this impending deluge of snow, it's going to be a game-time decision!
Mark
Sorry guys!
Mark
Drive safe, Mark. I'll post pics Saturday night to show you what you missed. That is, if I've thawed out, by then.
Next year Mark?
IF, and I stress IF, this gets delayed, you may still be able to get in on the fun . . . you could even bring Mark. That is, if he promises to wear a thong.
Voodoo, I hope I am not speaking out of turn with this post. If I am, I apologize.Just trying to keep this event on people's radar.
Just over $200.00 sponsored, almost all of it covered off. Not bad for less than a week, at least at this time of year, anyway.
