OK folks, my house has been taken over by Tables and chairs hahaha Its a little more crampt then I thought but we can still do 60 hahahaha
BYOB, and snacks please, donations to cover the tables and chairs would be appreciated but not necessary (damn the government for not letting me profit from this hahaha)
If people can try and be here by around 1:30 - 2:00 we should be able to start around 2:30. its going to be a long one from the looks of it, unless everyone wants to go blind first hand
See you tomorrow, any questions email me at gpearce@rim.com as I will have my BlackBerry on me tomorrow.
I wish I could make it but I started a new job this week and need to do some work to make a good impression
Those of you going to jour de poker 2....I'll see you there.
Graham. Thanks for the great tourny, I am confident that I am more prepared now for the Brantford Casino Tourny then before. I was surprised to see, what I would consider to be, most of the top poker players in KW at this event. I'll post later about a few interesting hands and how I busted in 21st out of 46, after 4 hours of play. Can you post the top 10? Thanks.
Boooo, not the top 10, top 11 !!! lol
Obviously that's when I busted out.
It was an awesomely ran tourney, no disputes (at least not downstairs), all the players were friendly, and everyone had a good time (even my friend that busted out 4th or 5th lol).
I'll be waiting for next time, Milton represented well I must say.
OK so the votes are in, I suck as a poker player but I seem to be able to hold an interesting tournament to say the least...
Hat's off to Slade and Ming for both coming from relatively small stacks when I first started dealing at their tables to ending up first and second (or a combined 1.5 placing however you want to look at it.
I'm sad to say I can't remember the top 10, the following were at the final table after jumping /ducking /weeding /hoping /praying / and playing some interesting 2-8 offsuit hands to the top 9.
Ming
Jer
Rob
Jeff
Mike
Ian
James
Damen
I do know that Ming and Slade (Jer??) both tied for 1.5 position well done both of you.
Damen took 3rd but after that I can't remember...if someone does please post for those interested.
From what I understood the side games were quite interesting, although thank god Damen and I were too tired or there could have been an interesting pot with 5-3 off over-powering 5-2 off only to be counterfitted by 9-2 when the board comes 5-j-j-7-7 hahahah.
Also mental note for those still there..Man Pizza's should never been eaten for Breakfest lol
Many thanks to the following two individuals who without their help it wouldn't have worked.
Neil McVicar and the generous support of PokerStore.ca, those beautiful chips were provided by him.
Eric Tibedeau for doing such a great job of balancing tables and shutting tables down. The effort you put in was fantastic.
Thanks to all those that came, I had a great time hosting. Due to the deal with my wife that was my final Poker event and I appreciate everyone making it a hell of a way to stop an addiction. Best of luck to all of you in your future games and I hope I get to watch TV some day and go "Hey I got my ass kicked by that guy in my living room", or better yet "I took him down with 2-8 off in my living room" while I'm watching the WSOP...
Yeah, thanks for the great tourney Graham! Also thanks to all the helpers (Eric, the dealers, Neil, etc.).
I won a coin toss against Bob to eliminate him near the end. Phew! He had position on me. I was very happy to see him go. I was also happy to hear Teach's anguished cry upstairs. lol.
Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention my personal thanks to Keith. If he hadn't called me to lunch on his way to the tourney I would have gone to bed and missed the tourney. I was up all night as was several other players. Though they played poker all night I was doing something else.
What a nice turn out for the tourney. Well done Graham!!
I really wish I could have stayed longer, but I guess no one lasts very long when, they raise pre flop with J-J (or as I've been calling them all weekend...Damn Jacks!), gets called, then goes ALL-IN on a board of 5-Q-9.
Man, what a brain fart!!!!
Radiohead has it right...."You do it to yourself!"
Anyway, enough sobbing for now.
Congratulations to all who made it to the $$$ and especially the winner(s), Ming and Slade!
That was the biggest tourney I've been in so far and it was a good experience. Hopefully, I've learned something from this and can apply it to the next tourney!!
Cheers!
P.S. It was nice to finally put some faces to the names on this Forum! See you guys at the next one!! BTW.. When and where is it!?! :-)
I didnt realize so many guys from here were there...
I saw shopsy and stp-boy...
Who was everyone else?
I was upstairs, were any of you at my table? I was at the one where one guy kept calling with sub-shiet hands and hitting 9/5 would catch a str, then he would even count em out on his fingers when he caught, he'd raise and get called happened three times......
anyways I was the table pussy - read about it in the ask dave section.

I look forward to giving all of you some more of my money in the near future...
I don't think anyone upstairs missed the fact that Rob (that lucky b*st*rd) got 6th place. Congrats to all the winners!
