Who's interested in a $50 buy in NL Hold Em tournement in Waterloo (nov)

OK been listening to the crowds talk about PokerForum.ca and told that if I wanted to hold a larger then one table tournement this would be the place to post.

I'm in negoiations with the Wife now for November 13th, start time around 2 pm, end time hopefully before 8 am Monday morning so i can go to work.

Standard Tournement rules (as seen on pokerstars.com) for a $50+5 tournement, just without the extra $5.

I figure if I can find the tables/chairs I can fit roughly 60 people in my place, now let's see if I can fill the place up.

OK folks,

November 6th, doors open at 1:30 hopefully first card flys at 2:30 for the $50 No Limit Hold Em tournement at my place. I doubt it will hit this high but first 60 people to respond get first dibs at seats...

This is just confirming that we have a date, an now worries Teach, with one less week we have less chance of the polar caps melting and flooding everything...althought personally I'm hoping Prof baths before the tournement or it could be the scariest thing sitting across the table.

That does bring up an interesting point. Smokers be warned, I'm in a smoke free house no questions asked. Smoking will be outside and I will try and find something for the butts and ashes instead of the driveway.

BYOB, and as suggested by someone BYOC and anyone with a table that they can bring email me at gpearce5@yahoo.com and let me know. Otherwise there maybe a small + to the $50 to cover the cost of the tables.

Man, you figure out how to get that Lazy boy chair around you're more then welcome to bring it..I figure it might become enough of a pain that you'll bust out and just start a cash game at the table you're at.

Currently I'm thinking the following but its not written in stone, this is the first descent tournament I'm putting together so I'm open for suggestions.

if 10 people, top 3, 1st taking $300
if 20 people, top 4, 1st taking $500
if 30 people, top 6, 1st taking $675
if 40 people, top 8, 1st taking $660
if 50 people, top 9, 1st taking $825
if all 60 seats fill up, top 10, 1st taking $1000 (my actual payout table shows first taking $990 but if I fill the house I'll chuck in the extra $10, heck I plan on taking it back anyways )

For those interested enough, if all 60 make it the payout would be as follows (once again open for suggestions)

1st - 33%
2nd - 18%
3rd - 12%
4th - 9.5%
5th - 8%
6th - 6.5%
7th - 5%
8th - 4%
9th - $70
10th - $50

Just thoughts right now..there will be a wipe board as I hope to have prizes for Best Hand and Bad Beat (the loser of the bad beat not both)

The game is still on, the wife is currently moving things around the house to make room for all the tables. I have 40 people signed up at this point, let's hope everyone makes it.

I had an interesting request "what are the rules"..I never thought about this until I realized the person asking plays many more home games with wild cards and strange rules like no check raises.

For those that have any questions I will be following the rule book found at http://www.homepokertourney.com and I will be the acting Tournament Director. I would appreciate if I could get a volunteer incase a hand is disputed that I'm involved in but I hope that doesn't happen.

I will be printing this out and making a copy available for any clarifications during the tournament, I also have two computers that will have it open for clarification.
