  • Yes, after I asked the tournament staff why they would have three different blind schedules for the three tournaments, they mentioned that the same blind schedule would be used for the $100 and $300 tournaments instead of becoming worse. Unfortunately, the $200++ rebuy tournament still has the worst blind schedule because they want it to have the same 3 PM ending even though it is costing the players five times as much as the $100 tournament. :'(

I don't understand. You said the $300 tourney was worse. Now you say it's better? Did they change the blind structure?
  • According to the website the blind structure is still different for the $100 and $300 tourneys....
  • I verified and read the updated blind schedules at the poker desk before I paid for my seat, but the website hasn't been updated.

  • I don't know why some of you poker officiandos aren't giving the Orangeville Poker league tournies a fair try. Probably no further than Brantford for most of us and far better value... $55. buy in freezout, no rake, 5000 chips, 30 min blinds, avg about 70 players, Patience 9.85, Skill 5. Tournament takes about 8-9 hours total time withj a 1st place prize of around 11-$1200. Only thing is there are only a couple per month on Sundays (11:30am). Great tables, assigned dealers. And to top it off, a lively 1/2 game afterwards, also with no rake, usually 2 tables by 3pm or so.
Forgot to add, there is also an optional $10. bounty for those who love the action. Approx 75-80% of the players participate.
  • Nothing to do with this Brantford thread, but yes, those league games are pretty good. If I lived closer to Orangeville and compuease would pick me up, ;) I would play them more since it uses the WSOP blind schedule and is great practice for those who want to play at the WSOP.

  • Is there one this Sun?
  • and there is a deep stack.100 buy in the following sunday..ive attended these tourneys,,,Curtis runs these tournaments like a pro..

  • With the improved blind schedule for tomorrow's Brantford $300 tournament, I calculated that the Patience Factor is now 9 and the Skill Level is 5. This makes it an even better value than GBH's $500 2009 tournaments, with a lower rake and cost. Unfortunately, this will be the last $300 tournament and there are currently no OLG tournaments scheduled for 2009. :(

Rob, let me know if you are thinking about going this week. I would definitely be interested in carpooling.
  • Are they running the Thursday morning tourneys in Dec? I was thinking of going next Thursday.
  • Yes, the decent $100 tournaments on December 4 and 11 will sell out early as usual. Avoid the $500 ($200 + $100 unlimited rebuys + $200 add-on) rebuy tournament; only if less than 50 dumb gambooolers buy in is there any hope that its bad structure will be improved.

Everytime I win at a place, I hear my wife's voice from my left shoulder >:D shouting at me to play poker even less, so after Thursday's $300 tournament, I didn't pre-buy a seat for any future Brantford tournament for the first time so just like Fallsview and Las Vegas, I won't be back at Brantford for the rest of the year. :'( So when I say good luck playing at Brantford next month, I really mean it!

  • For the forumers that played in today's Casino Brantford tournament, what was the announcement about the Canadian Poker Tour? Did they mention the CPT Finals at the Dominican Republic next month?
  • I don't know. They just signed us up and said the results from today would get calculated into the point system leading to the championship. No explanation really of how that would work.

    Finished 9th again. :rage:
  • Did any forumer play in yesterday's $200+100+200 rebuy tournament? Many of the players I talked to last time said that they would never play that horrible structure again, but I heard that there were 50 gamboolers and it sold out again. It's worse than the $1.60+0.40 speed rebuy tournaments online, where even when I donk off 12 rebuys, it only cost me $19 instead of $1,200!
