Korean BBQ - Korean Grill (downtown, yonge & college)..., a-u-c-e bbq beef, chicken, pork, seafood, all the trimmings including soft drinks $7.99 lunch $12.99 dinner (dinner includes short ribs).

I think this the place that Zithal, Easy and I went to last summer after a long Saturday afternoon of drinking. It was pretty good, I'd go again.

Thai - Salad King in Toronto.. it's the closest place to Waterloo that does good Thai, everything around here is either Viet/Thai or is really bad (Thai Sun)

    +1

My brother subsisted on this place when he lived at Ryerson. You order every dish by adding a number on the end that equals the # of hot peppers thrown in. Mmmm, spicy!
  • dammit, I wish I'd thought of this sooner...which of these places are generally student/family free? (or the inverse for your lovers)

I don't have any particular beef with small amounts of either...but what is worse than going to enjoy a meal/company of a few only to find yourself in a sea of screaming/wandering children... or families ;)
  • Pizza- Pepi's
Burgers- Admiral Subs in Brantford just a stones throw from the Casino. Their burgers are the size of Kevin Mench's head!!
Breakfast- Have to go with Zithal on this one...Bennys!
    Steak- Outback
Pasta- Ennio's (If you like garlic)
Vegetarian lunch- Try the working center cafe...heard good things about it.

    stp
  • I have to disagree with Pepi's as the best pizza. Everytime I have ordered one in the past couple of years the crust has been burnt. I used to eat these weekly back when I was a lot younger and they were the best then.

    Ribs-Zeke's
Wings-Howl at the Moon/Roxxxanne's (order the stovetop, deep fried then put on the grill for a few seconds to cook the juices and sauce in)
    Burgers-Harmony Lunch
    Breakfast-Country Boy
    Chinese-Cameron Chinese Seafood Restaurant
Steak-Golf's is always good and The Keg's baseball steak
    Pizza-no one stands out
    Nachos-homemade
  • Kristy,

Ethals Lounge usually doesn't have many kids or younger students. A few older university student dine/drink there, but all the 1st/2nd year students think the place is a dive.

They also have a few veggie dishes also.

We don't think it's a dive... it's just where all the "old people" drink. Ethel's does have great nachos though. Really really great nachos.

    /g2
  • I've went there a few times a few years ago..I'm surprised by your glowing reference Johnnie; I wasn't a big fan. Back then it was full of the absolute bottom of the barrel, cry in the rain art fags; the 'b' is 'a' elitists; and a sprinkling of the stereotypical university students .

All are funny for about 5 mins..and then I just want to fight someone. 'meh' on the service and food.

    lol...they're still there.

    Fair enough Kristy.
