Looking to start a crew;

Hey;

I mentioned this before and there was some initial interest, but it hasn't seemed to materialize.

One thing I am taking note of from the UW alums doing so well is that they definetly have a strong peer group.

To quote a trainer I know, "Personal results are a direct reflection of your peer group". I want to find that peer group, I know I need to learn so much more in MTT as my results are not there.

Maybe dinner once a week, a shared class etc but lets get a crew going.

Anyone interested?

  • Hoping to get something similar going with a couple guys from my home game. Great idea, but I am way behind what I perceive your skill level to be. Maybe in a year or so for me.
  • I'd do it...but be warned I'm going to refer to you as either 'my bitchez' OR by the names of The New Kids on The Block.

    Dibs on Joey.

Seriously Tyson, this could be a good idea...but I'm not sure about spending time on dinner, or driving there...why not just do it on MSN? I've got some ideas. msg. me when you see this.
  • I'm interested in anything from a peer group to a weekly SNG, 2/5 cash game, satellite or WSOP league, but I don't think there's enough interest in this forum.

  • I would if it was closer to GTA; too bad, although I have some left wing ideas about poker.
  • If you decide to do an msn one, i'd be interested.
  • I think msn would work well, just need the headphones and mic >50 at Best Buy for a good comfortable one...cheaper still if you're not in a serious longterm intimate relationship with your computer like I am- and can handle a flimsier option.

The added benefit of being able to actually rail while playing online and not having to get out of my nightie or see sunshine makes this option pretty much the nuts.
  • I'd be interested in either MSN or RL based.

I think this would be a great option; as you could rail/play same tourney and not worry about IP . My main concern is the typing as I cannot relay enough information efficiently but talking would work.

This would also allow group discussion over hand histories, for advice - demo and learning.

BTW can your Ip even handle Multitabling, then alone VOIP Kristy?
  • I'm down for either, give me a PM and we can do it!
  • I'm good for one site as many tables as I want, voice conv. and forum...

Schabs said there was a slight lag, couple seconds only I think. Who do you work for ..Nazi Germany...get on msn already, I've got some points to make.

MSN doesnt work from the office- BUT myb phone is charging and I will have it there when it is done.

    tah tah
  • FWIW.. you can get a deceent camera phone combo at staples for under $40 ... Moose and I both have it and it works fine.... just watch the fliers, they're on special all the time.

  • lol..you're pretty Mark. Why would we want to look at each other? To figure out if we're giving off inter-tells? :D
  • It DOUBLES as a mic smartass...

And then after the game / chat, there's always convo's that I can start with "A/S/L"?

  • i'd be interested in any group focused on cash games as opposed to MTTs. MSN would work well. please keep me posted.
  • I sat here feeling that I should respond...but all I can think about is how many woman you've shown inappropriate pics too or vice versa.
  • I'm in for an MSN crew.

    PM me.

I mainly play hold'em, but I'm interested in all games 7cs, O8, Omaha, Razz.
I'm mainly a cash game player. But I'm interested in ... well everything.
Most of my experience has been in the unfashionable limit poker but lately I'm switching from Limit to No limit.

Does anyone want to sweat me on Full tilt?
  • Did a poker crew ever materialize? I now believe that if I can find a strong peer group that understands how to take EV-maximizing shots at both online and live poker, the whole group can be successful like the Waterloo crew.

    We should be talking.

    See you tommorow at Brantford?
  • Lets get started

ash underscore accord@hotmail.com is my msn
  • still interested
  • I am interested in talking!
  • The old guy is also interested although maybe just sitting on deck as part of or watching the "crew" is more my speed... lol. Definitely interested in MTT's as my tourney results are very sporadic to say the least... Currently playing SNG's almost exclusively....
  • We'll talk tomorrow. Is anybody else who replied playing in next Wednesday's $550 GBH tournament or the $400 tournament in Brantford on January 26?

  • I'm already in "The Crips", I wish I knew of this crew before I defined my allegiances.

I am at the GBH on Wednesday, lets talk.
  • I am interested. MSN or Skype (although I find skype is easier to communicate thoughts quicker if doing a live sweat)

As for me SNG/MTT/Cash games upto NL400, I am happy to share thoughts when I am online.
  • I'll talk to you at GBH. A friend and I may head to Casino Rama on our way back west.
Anybody else from the forum playing the tournament?
