Now that I've broken my Seneca cherry, I just can't get enough and I have an insatiable desire to "make a run for the border". While I'm waiting for my friends to phone me back about carpooling, is there any other forumer that's planning to go to Seneca tonight, tomorrow or Sunday night?
I will probably go tomorrow (Thurday) to either Brantford or Seneca.
I'd be glad to have you or any other former's company.
I became the biggest stack on the table on the very first hand and I was still the biggest stack when I left.
Kind of reminds me of my first hand at 1/2 at Seneca (although not as positive results). I sit down and watch the current hand develop where this guy loses about $250 and is down to his last $50. On my first hand I get dealt AKo. Guy raises to $15 and $50 guy goes all-in. Now I am faced with a decision. The initial raiser has about another $90 left. I can't fold AK but I am worried about the initial raiser. I know I can beat the $50 guy but not sure about the second guy. I decide to call and see what the initial raiser does. He calls and the flop brings all low cards and I check to the initial raiser who goes all-in. I decide to call because I figure he has nothing as well and he shows QQ. I know going all-in preflop probably was a good play as he was committed anyways but didn't really change the overall result in the end. So I am down $100+ on my very first hand at Seneca. Welcome!

Yes. And it is quite strange and caught me off guard. I won a hand in my first 5 at the table, tossed a chip to the dealer who removed from the table and put in into a fanny pack he was wearing on his waistband. Very different from the "tokes box" I have seen on other tables. It actually felt quite shady it going directly into his pocket like that.

And that's what makes the dealers at Seneca better and more customer service orientated than any other casino in the area.

That's what I was looking for.
I always feel odd tipping a good dealer at Brantford knowing that they will share it with their poor co-workers. That being said, I still tip. Gotta keep Mother Karma happy.
I'd feel much better knowing that a good dealer kept their tip for doing a good job.

PM me.
there's a good chance (depending on when you come) that if you are coming to Brantford I'll be sitting 2/5 for most of the day. Black Fubu hat, glasses, and mole over my left eye is my usual garb.
You have AK, you want to see all 5 cards, not just 3. Push or fold.
Why? WHY?!?! WHY!?!?!? Why would you think that?
He only called preflop because he has a medium to big pair and wants to see that there's no A on the flop.
Ugh. Hopefully a lesson learned.

it was hard to go all-in pre-flop on the very first hand after a two hour drive. I was hoping for a long night. I guess I should of asked for a count before calling pre-flop as I didn't really know how many chips he had until he went all-in on the flop. Lesson learned.
That is one of many interesting differences that I noticed at Seneca Casino. Having worked at a couple of casinos, it was very strange for me to see a dealer put chips in his pockets. You would be arrested and blacklisted if you did that at any other casino I know.
Anyway, I asked the Chinese dealer if they get to keep their own tips. He totally ignored me and the players in the table wondered like me why he wouldn't say anything. If he was not allowed to say, he could have just said so. When I won a big pot, I politely asked him again if he will get to keep the $5 chip that I'm about to give him and he again acted as if he was deaf and mute.
Except for this one dealer, all the poker room staff have been great at customer service, especially the cute hostess who patiently answered all my questions that poker players should ask before playing, and greeted me by my nickname already as soon as I walked in on just my second visit. I asked another dealer if the hostess was allowed to accept tips and fortunately this dealer was neither deaf nor mute. He said yes so as I signed out with my player's card (60¢/hour) and received a bunch of contest entries (1 for every hour of play), I also tipped the hostess $5.
I tried to sign up for the U$60 SNG satellite, but just like the U$1000 max. cash game, there has not yet been enough interest to start up a table. There was a super satellite at the last "On The Border Poker Challenge" tournament in September (which my friend cashed in), so hopefully, they'll have one soon.
The closest thing to a home game satellite is the one on Tuesday night @ http://www.pokerforumcanada.com/showthread.php?t=14157. Several players in that home game will probably use anything they win towards a December tournament, including me.
So does anyone know if Seneca has any satellites for the upcoming $540 tournament on Dec. 9?
Or is anyone hosting any home game satellites into this tournament?
