  • I told him we'd all be at Mario's... so it's probably easiest if you just meet us up there... but I could ask him?

    Thanks Buddy!

I'll hand in my BCC Players Card since Brantford is pretty much dead to me. F$#ING limit poker...

If you guys have time, stop at Fallsview and CN first and get one each there. It will take maybe extra 15-30 mins of your time but you get more money from Seneca. Definitely looks +ev to me!
  • FYI, Seneca will have a super satellite into the $1,070 Winter Challenge main event every Saturday at 2 PM. One out of every 8 players win a seat. You get 2,500 starting chips with 15 minute rounds. The buy-in is $155, with 13.5% rake. Seneca's satellites are better than Ontario casinos, so I will probably play some of their satellites, including the Thursday night WSOP $40 satellite. I haven't played a single hand since Bristol, so I'm tempted to head out to Seneca after I play a tournament tonight.

It looks like it will be busy on Saturday, so it's a good idea to phone ahead when you are one hour away from playing.

  • Today's the day!

We'll be at the casino sometime around 2-3pm-ish, come down and say Hi!
  • Wow... am I tired

Nothing too interesting happened, some up, some down... highlights though:

    Beds are REALLY bouncy

They don't have Coffee Crisp in the states

    Cocktail waitresses love marriage proposals

    stpboy is the table expert

    Mario loves donkeys

    Johnnie and Braad hate donkeys

They really don't have coffee crisp in the states

DrTyore is immune to tilt attempts of the less than subtle 'You're gay' approach

    Free booze is always great

Mmoose is deaf in her right ear now

There is a difference between "Fallsview" and "Casino Niagara"

Mario is the most terrorist-looking of us all

    No Coffee Crisp... NONE

DrTyore is "just funny enough not to be annoying" (Says "Dan")

    Haha so so true.
  • Hampton Inn has a great continental breakfast.

Niagara Falls ,NY does get alot more snow than Kitchener ON.

Datamn Al is identifiable from about 100m in misty conditions on the bridge.

Hitting a set when someone flops a straight sucks.

Johnnie does hate donkeys who call raises with 45o.

Braad hates donkeys who call raises with 85h.

The 1-2NL Max $100 Buy-in is donkey bingo.

Johnnie wishes he didn't make the no booze bet with Moose for MXM because he rediscovered Scotch. (Maybe next year!)

American pizza is effing delicious. (Actually I knew that already)

Trevor makes weird high pitch snoring noises.

2 grown men can share a bed and NOT be gay.

Most dealers who keep their own tips are great.

It's possible to blow $25 on a 1 cent Star Wars slot machine in 4 minutes.

You must by Duty Free merchandise BEFORE you cross the bridge. D'OH!

Johnnie had a friggin blast enough though he's down $160.
  • Biggest Gamble: Having Jenn drop me at the border, walking to Seneca, and trusting I can find a ride home.

Worst Timing: Picking up KQo in MP, raising, and having biggest fish at the table push. So far he'd pushed with K4o, J8s, and called a push with 85s, so I obviously called. This time he had AK - whoops.

Worst Beat: JJ in EP - raise to $12 - 4 callers. Flop 10h, 9h, 4d - raise to $20, fish from AK hand pushes overtop, and I call the $70 more knowing I'm good. He has J8 (no hearts - I have Jh) and rivers a 7 for the straight. Ouch. Asked Shannon to bring back some lube and bandaids during his dinner break.

Best Dealer Comment: After the rivered straight, dealer quietly consoles me by impersonating the fish. "Of course I should get all my money in with a straight draw on a flushed board". I respond "He outplayed me". Dealer laughs and says "Your a good sport - I love your attitude. This must be your first time..." and later says "At least you'll have something to talk about on the forum".

Worst Dealer Mistake: On the flop, SB raises, EP re-raises, LP pushes, SB over-pushes, EP folds, and dealer mucks the board. He heard SB say fold, but entire table confirms they all heard all-in. Dealer calls for floor, then says never-mind, goes through the muck and re-creates the board, then shuffles all the cards (including mucked cards) and runs the turn and river. His comment - "I hope this isn't a bad beat hand or we're all f****d". When the floor arrives, he tells them not to worr about it, he took care of it - hmmm...

Best Hand: Pick up AA in EP. Raise to $12 and get 3 callers. Flop comes down AJ4, I make a weak C-bet of $12, call, fold, and LP pushes. I insta-call, and other 2 fold. I flip my hand and opponent shows JTo. Wow - he even put a bow on it...

Worst table selection: Mark requested a table change to my table based on my description of the players. When he finally gets called over, I bust the fish from the earlier 2 hands, the tightest nit at the table, and 2 other players get busted. Mark only got to play just over a lap at this awesome table - lol!

Most fun: After the the table started getting tired and tight, starting to bully for a couple laps. Had fun betting into 4 players post-flop and then showing J-high, 7-high, and once the Ac on a K-high 3-heart board. Still nobody would call me (which sucked as I got AA 3 times in next 2 laps, and still no callers). We left shourtly after this, since action was drying up.

Scariest Moment: Trying to fall asleep in a room with 4 other guys and massive man-flirting.

Most -EV Play: Playing the 1c Star Wars slots with Johnnie and pissing away $25 each (comp'd) in less than 4 minutes.

Biggest Coincidence: Walking back to Canada and bumping into DataMn on the Rainbow Bridge. He was coming to meet us (but my comrades were all too "pokered-out" :( ).

Final Result: Up $80 in just over 5 hours of play at $1/2NL

Lots of fun - can't wait to do it again!
  • Did anybody play any of the satellites? I'm hoping to play the $40 WSOP and/or $155 Winter Challenge satellites on Thursdays.
  • one of each sat filled the entire Saturday. that's all I know

WTF is up with walking to USA? you guys all get your license plates tagged for smuggling?

throwing a WTF? chip at Compuease after min betting the river into a $30 pot was priceless

running quads for a $12 pot sucked

$6 in poker comps for a days action good

bad beat jackpot is $135,000+, the dealers are getting desperate to deal one before Xmas to pick up the huge tip.

Robert is the best dealer, by far

gambling at par is awesome when you lose, sucks when you win

    US Walmart prices kick ass!

All toys are 25% off at Zehr's for last minute shoppers. mmm Candy Cane ice cream

You like that huh, actually I've been doing that quite a bit lately, it's amazing what kind of action that can create. lol... I've started doing that ever since I won a $350. or so pot at our Friday night game a few weeks ago after I rivered a top set full house which also made a nut flush. I was the first to bet and two others we're both all in before the action got back to me... I think of it as a good luck charm..

I preferred my flopped quads (10's) that the table fish kept betting into until he got all in on the river...

Actually it's $165K, we almost made it on the Omaha table when I went there, one guy flopped a A-5 str8 flush and 2nd guy turned a set of K's, another K on the river would have done it... darn..
  • I get a break and head out to Seneca to see if I can catch you guys...
I get there around 12 Noon Sunday.
Bad beat jackpot is around 168,000

    I list for 1/2 $100, 1/2 $200 (I suck at NL)

I get seated in 5 min. at the 1/2 $100 (Take that Brantford)
First hand, AKo, in the CO
    7 limpers , I Raise to $17
    Button Calls,
    Pot = $51
    Flop comes K93r
I push... (is this right? I have $83 behind into a $51 pot?)

I figured if I bet pot then I only have $33 behind and I've made a $153 pot.. so I have to call.
If I bet half pot $25 ... then I have $58 behind and a $101 pot... So I'd be pretty pot comitted there too.

    Button folds

Next hand KK, 4 players limp , I bet $17 in the hijack. Everyone folds.

4 orbits later AJo in MP 2 limpers and I raise $17 (Note: AJo is a shit hand, I'm playing it because I think these players play like shit postflop)

    Button Calls.

Flop comes QXX 2hearts I have Ah

I make a continuation bet $20, MP min raises me. to $40.

Hummm, Min raise means I'm pretty sure I'm beat here, Right?

    I'm getting 5 to 1.
I study the min raiser for about 5 seconds.
My read is that this guy is nervous.
I have $160 behind and he has me covered.
I make a loose call, planning to make a bluff the turn.
The right move is to fold here??? What do you guys think?

Turn Th giving me a nut flush draw and a gutshot to the straight.
I push $160... he tanks and then calls.
I suck out on the river getting a K for a straight.
    He show QT.

    I then blow $50 on a massauge...
