  • There is no such thing as fold equity in limit.

    Boo.. of course there is.
  • Yeah ok maybe in situations where there are 4 to the straight on the board or 2pr on the board or 4 to the flush.

Even so if you have overs and someone else holds a PP, you ain't getting that dude to fold. Did our hero fold his PP? Did the villian do everything he could to get hero to fold?

I'd disagree (somewhat), but the equity probably generally comes when we manage to fold worse hands that have outs against us (eg. overcards).

No way not ever do I want a dude that is behind to fold. That is the antithesis of fold equity.
  • I would not have called, even with 16 outs, keep in mind there are donks in lower limits, and read them accordingly. It really is a diff games at low limits.

If he has the odds to call I'm pretty sure you'd rather a fold.

Hmmm...I must be losing my mind. Methinks it is time for me to reread Theory of Poker.

Huh? Scooby made a great point which was only thinly-veiled. I hope you're just being sarcastic here Moose...
  • Villan had AA.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply.
  • Here's how i would have played the hand:

    Pre-flop play is fine.
    On the flop smooth call.
Raise turn - if he reraises, call and fold if you don't improve on the river.
If he just calls turn raise, check down on the river unimproved.

You would fold for one bet on the the river unimproved in a 15 big bet pot to a guy who re-raised the turn with air on the previous hand?

I can't do that. I'm not good enough.
  • I don't have a read on villian - didn't know he "re-raised the turn with air" previous hand.

I'm just stating my standard play with that action, my hand and that board.

If villian is spewy - then I'd be inclined to just call down the whole way if HU. Try raise/isolate if the pot was 3 way or more.
