TORONTO -- The Canadian dollar has surged to a 30-year high at 91.58 cents, up 0.56 of a cent, in morning trading before the Victoria Day holiday weekend.
On Thursday, the loonie closed at an 11-month high of 91.02 cents US after analysts said the latest inflation data suggested interest rates may have to rise later this year.
The rise to 91.58 cents US takes the currency to a level last seen in the late 1970s.
Adding fuel to the economic fire, Statistics Canada says retail sales surged 1.9 per cent in March to an estimated $34 billion and boosted the sales gain for the first quarter to two per cent.
I know moose it's killing me. Almost all of the stock's I own are US based and purchased +15% for the exchange. Not to mention all the money I have in sportsbooks etc.
I hope so because I went onto the hampton inn web site and they are booked for the Saturday night. They recommended I stay at the hampton inn fallsview on the Canadian side LOL.
Okay.. so apparently 1.5 months notice isn't enough for anyone, and there's NOBODY willing to do the whole weekend...
Perhaps just a one night run then?

Sorry but Aimee works weekends. She booked off the Sunday so we can go down. We'll probably still go after she's done work on Saturday and stay on the Canadian Side then after we finish (if we finish).
I tried to book there before and I was told they were full, I didn't use CAA tho and it now seems with CAA it is good to go there. I was given a choice of 3 other hampton inns with the closest being Canada LOL.
Alright, because of the backing-outitude of most people, I'm just heading down on Saturday night to Sunday... So, for whoever's heading down Saturday, we can all try to meet somewhere? I think Zithal and I were talking lunch in NF.... the donkey fest away!

From what I understand, you and Joe are only going down Saturday night... so I'm heading down for that night with Zithal, 2Bullets, and some of the others as well.
I know the Mooses are heading down the whole weekend, but I dont' think I want to foot the bill for a hotel room for the night for myself alone Friday. S'allright.. I'm gonna have a BBQ for my b-day Friday night!
When I looked at the weather forecast, I thought to myself - Mark has picked the perfect weekend. If the weather is crappy what better place to be than indoors.
The easiest way to hook up with us will be at the poker tables.

We parked there...played for like 14 hours and they let us check in at 10AM...
