  • Also as far as the US conversion its whatever the rate is the day its processed. So basically if I have 500 CDN on my card I check what the rate is that day and ballpark it when figuring out what to deposit into one of my accounts. I am sure more prepaid CC companies are going to sprout given the current environment. Shop around for the best rates.

I think Insta debit or Moneybookers is going to end up being the choice. Neteller going is gonna hurt large for most sites. I see neteller being the next Bre-X. Here today and gone tomorrow.

I use instadebit for my Pinnacle account, I like the set-up, although they cap the amount that new members can deposit.

Do you know which poker sites use instadebit? Or do you know which payment/ withdrawel method is best on pokerroom (where I play).

    Thanks

The one I use is MyCard (www.mycard.ca) you can buy them all over ontario and load them at most places. I mainly use it for Fulltilt and all sportsbooks so not sure about others but its been great for me so far.

    HI Voodoo,
I'm new to real money poker on internet and would like to try it out soon but have a question for you though. I'm playing mostly on FullTilt and have decided to give my CAA prepaid mastercard a try. My question is the withdraw from FullTilt, the site states that the withdraw will not put back to the creditcard and we have to use one of the online wallet for the transaction. What's your experience on the withdraw from FullTilt and how do you handle the withdraw??
    Cheers
    Stephen
  • Most sites will send a cheque for WD if they cannot put it back on your CC.

Let us know how the CAA master card works out.

Will post the result here as soon as I try my CAA Prepaid Mastercard with FullTilt on Friday.
    Cheers
  • Like hobbes said the cheque option is probably the way to go. All my withdrawals from poker or sportsbooks are cheques now, I don't mind having to wait for them to clear so I just deposit them.

What about the echeck function in Pokerstars (and others I assume)? It says there are no fees.. If you set up a separate checking account just for poker, wouldn't it be a solution? I'm not concerned about depositing, just a function for moving money between sites and "occasional" withdrawals. See link below.

    http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/real-money/echecks/

I believe this is an option for depositing but I don't think they allow this for cash outs? From their site:

    What about my cashouts?

Cashouts cannot be done directly to bank accounts via eChecks. Please see Cashout Your Poker Winnings for details and a large selection of alternatives.
  • Has anyone tried the VanCity (Citizens Bank) All access Prepaid Visa Card? You can load it up to $500 (fee: $2)

It appears to be quite accessible to buy and works on any site that accepts Visa.

    Maybe another option for despositing?

    Hi all,
Just want to give you all the update. I'd just tried to make a deposit with FullTilt using my CAA Prepaid Visa and it worked without any problem. The transaction went through smoothly and CAA Prepaid Visa didn't charge me extra (no handling fee) to deposit money in a gambling site. CAA only accepts deposit with Canadian dollar so you may be hit by the exchange rate in a bad day.
    Cheers
  • Thanks for the update Buster.

Just want to let you know that the CAA Prepaid Visa is issued by Citizens Bank as well so I guess there shouldn't be any problem...

I use Insta debit for my sports book, pretty good. Which poker sites offer it? I play on PokerRoom, but it's not an option currently.

    I compiled a list a while back

I cant disagree with you more, Captain. Instadebit has NO customer service - and that's with a captial "N". I actually referred some friends to it because it seemed like a good choice for Neteller replacement for Canadians. Well was I wrong and am I ever sorry I recommended it to ANYONE.

My friend encountered some problems with entering his CIBC number. Apparently they are separated with dashes. He tried to enter the number as it appeared on his bank statement but got an error message from Instadebit saying that number does not exist. So then he left off the prefix and VOiLA a message appeared saying SUCCESS and welcome to Instadebit. He wanted to test the method with a small deposit first even though he didnt need any money in his account but he didnt want to run into any problems cashing out his 2 grand. The small deposit was instantly available to him for play - so he stupidly thought everything was AOK.

Because the prefix was missing from the bank account number his bank turned down the small deposit - but this information was not made known to him for several days. Meahwhile they block his Instadebit account and his $2,000.00 cashout is in limbo. The site said it was cashed out to Instadebit and Instadebit said they didnt have it. It took over a month to get this straightened out AND INSTADEBIT DID NOTHING TO HELP the guy. Every single email he got from them told him to go to his pokersite. And every email he got from the pokersite said it was Instadebits fault.

I felt so bad for having referred them to a site that I had only used once. Anyway, I have since changed to Click2pay and they are da bomb. My cashouts are done faster than they ever were by Neteller. The site is located in Germany, rather than an offshore location. And since our country has reciprocal law agreements with the European Block they are not above the law unlike the offshore companies.

It's fine to say you have had no problem with a site but when a problem does happen you want to make sure they give good customer service. In that department Instadebit is at the back of the bus.
  • So CallMe, how does click2pay work if I want to withdraw some money from one poker site and then deposit on another? With Neteller it was easy and free. Does click2pay do the same thing or do I have to withdraw all the way back to my bank account?
  • Thanks for post CallMeBaby, much appreciated. My opinion was based on my own personal experience which has been positive thus far. You've certainly given me something to be mindful of moving forward. Which sites have instadebit as an option right now?
  • Jeff I'm using Moneybookers and so far they are fine. Unfortunately not free but if your moving enough money around that doesn't become a problem. It's free to and from sites but getting it in and out of moneybookers there is a cost.
  • I've been using moneybookers and haven't had any problems with them so far. Speed has seemed to be pretty much on par with Neteller so far for withdrawing into my chequing account.
  • so with moneybookers can I withdraw from 1 pokersite then move it to another pokersite without fees? ie without withdrawing all the way out to my bank account?
  • 3 to 4 days for funds to show up from my checkings acount to moneybrokers but then it says that you cannot depsoit to any 3rd partys so does that mean u cant depsoit into pokerstars ??? how do i put money on pokerstars with a checkings acount i dont have any credit cards i need help thanks

Yes I"ve never been hit with any fees. I took money out of party and put it into pinnaclesports book.

Ok but does the withdrawal have to come all the way back to your bank account or can you just transfer from one poker site to another via moneybookers?
  • Trying to deposit on mansion...a message is coming up stopping me from opening an eco card or moneybookers account "not available to customers with CAD accounts."
Interestingly, no such message came up for Neteller. In fact, I started to fill out the registration form, but stopped and Neteller even sent me an email asking me to complete the registration process.
  • So I have cheques coming to me for my entire online bankroll....thinking of Moneybookers or Click2Pay for future gaming as they are both offered with all the sites I currently play on (Moneybookers slightly ahead right now). Is Moneybookers tha way to go?

It's hard to get an accurate idea of their fees, their fee page is just dumb....are there fees to and from poker sites? I know there are fees to and from your bank account but how steep? I plan to mainly move money between sites, rarely going back to my bank account?

    See Joe's post.

    Don't we all? :D

Looks like it's going to be Moneybookers for me.

Joe, do you have a referal link to MB?
  • IMO, MB is the way to go. They are getting more proactive. Just waiting on crypto/ecash direct to add them and I'm set. Best thing about MB is that you can fund your MB account right away with a withdrawal from a poker site.

There is no restriction to having a Neteller account. Good luck sending cash to a poker site though.

Netteller only stopped processing Poker sites, you can still pay other merchants that accept NT (who ever they may be :) )
  • Ok I broke down. I signed up for InstaDebit. Took like 5 min and you can deposit direct to the pokersite from your account. Exchange didn't seem great $113.50 cdn on $100 US when ING would have charged me $112 today. But the deposit was done instantly and I have money on Doyle's Room now so Hobbes you can add that one to your list.

Also any withdrawals go to an online account and stay in US$ so it seems to work exactly the same as Neteller.

I was going to do Moneybookers but it looks like a royal PITA to get money from my bank account to theirs? Does Euro, Tower, etc. use Instadebit I checked most of the sites I play on and don't see an instadebit option on any of them? (Stars, Party, Euro, Tower, Hollywood, PokerRoom, Empire)

This whole situation is a big f-ing pain in the ass. I'm still waiting for cheques from sites I requested 15 days ago...wtf?
