Preflop, one of the two dealers (depending on where the button is) would start dealing the cards, and when he's dealt to the line, he'd pass the deck off to the other dealer, who would continue, and then pass it back, for the first dealer to finish off. All player's actions would have to be shouted: "FOLD!" "CALL!" "RAISE!" "RE-RAISE!" so everyone could hear. Of course, there would be two muck piles for the two sections.
Let's say 13 players see the flop. Where do you put the flop so everyone can see? Hmmm... I'm thinking dead centre, but you'd have to be using those cards that they make for very old people with huge numbers, letters, etc... Even still, I imagine the dealer(s) would have to announce the board.
Like the two muck piles, two piles of chips would have to be created, as well. After showdown, the dealer of the 'losing' side would push the pile to the dealer of the 'winning' side, who would then push the pot to the winner. Whichever dealer happens to work the side of the table that wins most often would receive the most tips.
The only way to isolate a maniac in a twenty-player game would be to sit to his immediate left, and try to yell a bit louder than usual when you say "RE-RAISE!"
Somebody please put me out of my misery... I can't seem to stop with this 20-person table fixation... send help... before... too late...
Hey, I can play the board, can't I?
ScottyZ
I laughed at this for a good 3 minutes straight.
Also, thankfully, my bladder was relatively empty at the time.

What a world.

The main thing I remember about that night in particular, was the tourney that we had. The first guy knocked out (wasn't me) starts a side game... not poker... CRAPS. He ran the game... as the bank... paid off everyone from his pocket, etc... ended up being down over $500!!! Haven't had a crap game since!!!
What a world.
Yeah, IRC was a lot of fun. *sniff*

I'm glad you guys missed the $200 buy-in part. The whole 20-seat table
bit was priceless.
Looks like I had the right guess though!
That's a pretty ambitious buy-in for a non-casino tournament.

Ding ding ding Scotty wins with the $200 guess, which was just confirmed. Does this mean he now gets to eat all the jellybeans that were in the jar?
I'm glad you got a kick out of the 20-person table professor--it got me thinking that it might just be worth trying sometime. Strategic changes.... non-nut draws would go way down in value? I think so. It'd be kind of like playing a 10-player game of omaha hi, in that 40 cards would be dealt preflop, but not really. Enough like it, though, to figure that you should be drawing to nut hands if you're gonna draw at all...
Uh oh. You got me started on the 'Last Supper' super-table again...

However I had not heard anything since, inculding a location of the game.
Other than what's posted here I have no real specifics.

Unfortunately, only 6 people showed up. Me, AcesFull, esool, garro, and two other guys who found out about it from (I believe) The Poker Resource. So, there was no 2-table tournament, but we did play some $3/$6 for quite a while, and I had a good time hanging out with these guys.
Basically, the two organizers of the tournament--who were originally going to be dealing--played as well, so we'd be eight-handed. There was another dealer there as well, who dealt the game for us. I would like to say a few things about the place. If you ever hear about a 'Player's Club' event happening again, I'd strongly suggest that you check it out. They feel that the $200 buy-in might have changed a lot of people's minds at the last minute, so I think they're going to plan a $100 event next time.
The 'staff' was wearing white dress shirts and black pants. They had two very nice home-made hold'em tables, good chips with their logo on them, chip racks, trays for the dealer position at the tables, dealer buttons, tournament software on a high wall-mounted television screen, a bar, etc... I have no doubt that, had the tournament actually happened, it would have been exremely well-organized.
As I understand it, this was their first 'real' attempt at hosting an event like this. Hopefully there will be more. They have cleared out all furniture from the first floor of the house, leaving just the bar, the tables, the stereo system and some TV's. It is the perfect set-up, the place is nice, and is located in downtown-ish Toronto. The two guys who organized the event seem very nice, and capable. Also, there was a meal served of roast beef, mashed potatoes, corn and gravy. Mmm mmm good.
Like I said, hopefully they try again, and hopefully it's well-attended. These events would be great for Toronto poker players. Oh yeah, they are considering smoothing out the aggressive blind structure, too...
