Will Port Perry be running Satelites to the Ultimate Poker Challenge at Point Edwards. If so, any details on the satelite strucure (buyin, game etc).
Thanks!
We sadly will not be involved at all, this event is exclusive to the OLGC (Ontario Lottery and Gaming) Charity Casinos and we are an independent Charity Casino. Stay tuned though we will be running some major events in the new year to include at least one $1000 buy-in Freezeout Tournament and several satelites to the CPT Championships. I'll publish dates and other info here as it comes available.
Cheers,
Lee
The Casino is far too busy on the weekends (especially since I only have 8 tables in action). Before the end of the year I should have two more tables in action but even then it is very unlikely that the wait list will allow me to have a sit 'n go table. Best I can suggest is to try on Wednesday evening, call first (toll free) 1.888.29 HERON ext. 263 and see what the wait is like for the sit n' go. In the not too distant future we will be in our new building with a significantly larger Poker Room and could easily run sit n' go tables through out the week.
Cheers,
Lee
Lets have some more details on the new building if posible?
Thanks,
Rob.
It is still premature to give out concrete details, we are still finalising the final concept. I can let you folks know about things in general. Very good news for a great many people, we are seriously looking at a very significant fully non-smoking area that will have all of the games and will include a Poker Room. I am pushing for at least a 20 table Poker Room and am not encountering a lot of resistance to the idea. I will be in a much better position to offer good concrete information in the new year once all of the regulatory matters are resolved. We will definitely be in a new building one way or another, but size, amount of games and so on is a matter that we have to negotiate with the provincial regulators. Once that process is complete we can put the shovels into the ground and I will be able to offer better information. I know this answer seems very much like a "firm maybe" but as we all know "the proof is in the pudding" and as was once said ... "a proof is a proof ... etc.".

$50 Buyin
Blinds DOUBLE "GO UP" every 8 hands
LEVEL BLINDS
1 1-2
2 2-4
3 3-6
4 5-10
5 10-20
6 20-40
7 40-80 CAPPED
I think this structure would enable a faster tournament and keep both the people on the table happy and and the players on the waiting list.
Just a thought...

I like your structure, but I think it should be capped @ a lower number. Possibly 15-30 (possibly 20-40, but more off 15-30 if anything). Due to 440 chips in plays, either 11 big bets, or 15 bets in play. So it may alow for some post flop movement HU, instead of the likely all in fest.
I appreciate the comments, I always try to assess them from several perspectives and try to tweak the fine points until things run to most people's satisfaction (I've given up long time ago trying to make everyone happy). Actually I estimated the new structure will add approx 10 min to each session, it seems I was not far off. The next thing to happen will be to colour up the lower value chips and have smaller stacks in action, coming soon waiting for regulatory approval. I have a hunch the long list was a function of people hearing about the new structure and will settle out in due course.
Hey clown, you must be my age to remember Freddy from Sunshine ... nothing like a Freddy lecture in mid-hand lmao. Brings back memories ... some of them pretty good. Keep talking to me guys, I may pretend not to listen and be a heartless curmudgeon ...deep in side where it really counts ... I am ; )

OH BTW Tilter, thanks for the comments dude ... but we will still draw cards for the button. Seriously, I do appreciate the remarks.
We took call-in reservations when we first opened (darn near 9 years ago now) but stopped doing that after about 6 months, the biggest problem was people who showed up and put their name on the list and waited only to have some person just walk in and get a seat before them causing serious arguments and accusations and so on. Then you have the other problem of an artifically long wait list, with some folks not showing up, others caught in traffic etc. having their name rolled to the bottom of the wait list. While we understand it would make things easier for players driving in from some distance away, at this point in time the Poker Pit is just too busy to take phone reservations.

any chance of possibly changing the format/blind structure of the bigger double pot tournaments at GBH?
30 minute rounds would be amazing.
At this point in time, with the limited tables I have, to add 50% or so to the duration of a Tournament is not possible. In the not too distant future when more tables will be available in the GBH Poker Pit and the use of temporary tables for Tournaments only will be allowed the structure will be much more player and Tournament friendly. The goal really is to find the best mix of action and competitive play, all the while living within the reality of the financial constraints of budgets. The process is far too slow for my liking but there is also the reality of doing business in a highly regulated environment and things tend to happen more slowly rather than more quickly, but they do happen, please bear with us, we will get there.

Lee
Thank you for the quick reply .
