  • busted early. didn't get anything going at all. flopped middle set and ran into nut flush on the turn and from there was short until i pushed Ac8c into a couple limpers in the CO. got called in 2 places with JJ in BB and ATo in EP. turned nut flush draw but blanked river.

card dead was above average still when i left.
  • Sitting on 90k at 3rd break.

2nd hand after 2nd break I get KK on button and the cannon makes it 5k to go in EP with blinds at 600/1200/200. Yay! But wait, oh crap, the next 2 guys behind him shove about 27k each. I tank for what seeems like forever, and I figure the first guy didn't believe the cannon and is trying to isolate with a big ace. The second guy is more worrisome as he's a tight player, as probably has QQ at worst. I figure it's 50-50 between aces and Queens, so I make the crying call, and cannon folds JJ face up. V1 shows AQ and V2 shows AA - eep!

K in the window and K on the river for quads. Used up all my one times on that one.
  • Out in 11th for no monies.

Went really card dead after last break and got blinded off to 10BB when I finally open-shoved with KT from the small blind and the BB had AA.
  • Was playing 2-5 at Woodbine on Friday. Should have been easy money but the chair glue wouldn't let me leave after I was more than ready to...
  • might head to casino niagara tomorrow because i'm itching to play and will be free from the significant other. do games even run on a wednesday afternoon?
  • Probably just 2 tables of reg grinders.
  • Get there for when the room opens and call ahead, otherwise you might wait a long time before getting on a table....the poker room management sucks twinkies....
  • So my annual pilgrimage to Rama comes a month early this year. I will be there this Sunday afternoon and evening.

This will be my 3rd year in a row making the summertime Sunday trek, and the past 2 years I've found that the action doesn't live up to the TRs on here.

Is that a timing issue or am I missing something?
  • You staying for the Monday $300?

i wish rama was closer. i'll most likely be back at BCC this sunday for the $150 bounty.
  • Worst regs at my table kept moving to 2/5 when a seat opened so I would try that if your b/r allows. I went back on Sat night and was at the main 1/2 table. Two stacks of around 1k each kept raising and reraising blind preflop. Didn't catch any action until very late/early? in the morning.

No, have to work on Monday and it would cost me an extra hundo to stay the night.

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines, so I'll probably do that for sure now.
  • The July edition of Casino World Magazine should now be available at many casinos, including at the WSOP and Playground, so you can ask the poker room staff where it is. Most of the players at GBH on Wednesday including me had no idea that boxes of the magazine were put in a corner of the room, until the TD talked to me about the magazine. He said he will show the article to management to make improvements at GBH, i.e., stop being the last casino in Ontario to forbid electronics in the poker room.

Please let me know which poker rooms you see it at. I won't be able to play at Rama, Woodbine, Brantford, etc. this month. :(

Work schedule changed so of course I had to check into staying the night, and the players rate for tomorrow night is $220. Eeep! Days Inn across the street is $120.

If I do well on Sunday, I may call an audible a register for Monday last minute as long as it doesn't sell out. Or I can always drive back up on Monday.

Bought ticket via ticketmaster today. Had to try three times before it went through - looks like it was a will call issue within 2 business days of event. Third try I selected 'other' cdn delivery and it decided that will call was good enough...hope to see you Monday.
  • i just bought my ticket online too for the rama tourney, gl us.

Took down 1st at Rama today.
    Wooohooo
  • Nicely done!

Any particular details you care to share, interesting situations, hands, talk of chops etc?

    GG!
  • Nice job man!
  • Took down 1st at Rama today.
    Wooohooo

    Nice!
  • Congrats!!
  • Thx everyone. Wrote a long TR on phone, hit go and crap - I guess it timed out!
My only mistake all day was agreeing to a chop. I was chip lead with 3 of us. I agreed take 1st place $
But looking back on ride home, I was much better than 2 and 3. Actually, I doubled both of them with 5 or 6
Left when I got them both AIPF. Rivered 1 outer loss to 2nd, rivered with 2 outer on guy 3. Live and learn!

GL to anyone playing BBC today. (It is sold out right now)
    Cheers
  • Wait? I'm confused. You are upset about agreeing to a chop because you were the better player but still got 1st place money in said chop?

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Locking up 1st place money without actually winning it.

Sorry to confuse...Got the most $, and given 1st, but did not take 100% of the first place prize...afterwards
Regretted the deal giving up $ potential.
