echecks is run by citadel, i am still currently doing business this way on prima and pokerstars. pokerstars emailed me and said the best way is echecks. yes there are no fees and have had not one problem with depositing. cashouts are another story, they used netteller for cashouts everytime i withdrew.

The only deposit options left for the poker site I play on is VISA or MasterCard. Customer service for this site claims that some of its Canadian players use VISA or MasterCard to make deposits. Does anyone know of a Canadian card issuer that allows deposits to poker sites using its card?

I think that I was able to do that in like 2004, but not without some hefty fees (something like $17 to deposit $100?)

I'm pretty sure BMO and CIBC cards are no problem, the others are hit and miss. My Canadian Tire Mastercard has never allowed on line transactions of the gambling kind. My TD visa has been hit and miss but I haven't used it on line for years now.

I'm travelling next week to the US and may hit up Wallgreens for a prepaid visa card. If I can re load it on the net that will be fine. If the CAA one could be loaded in US dollars that would be perfect.

The one I use is MyCard (www.mycard.ca) you can buy them all over ontario and load them at most places. I mainly use it for Fulltilt and all sportsbooks so not sure about others but its been great for me so far.

Just checked MyCard MasterCard at its website and it says a monthly maintainence fee of $5.95 per month in addition to the initial set up fee of $42. ? Reload fee needed for each reload
Is this true Voodoo ? and is this about the average/standard expense for using this kind of prepaid cards..
What about their exchange rate/fee for conversion to/from US $ ??

SUSU.. not sure about current fees but I picked up my card over a year ago, basically went into a variety store, paid a 39.95 fee (10 of which is credited onto the card) went online filled out the info and the credit card was mailed to me about 7 days later. I use it mainly for funding sportsbook and poker accounts as I don't like those charges appearing on my regular CC Statements that could be tracked at a later date. The reload fee is approx $3 for every 350 loaded on the card and only $700 per day can be loaded to a max of 2500 I believe. I would have to check but I don't remember ever being charged a monthly fee.

Also as far as the US conversion its whatever the rate is the day its processed. So basically if I have 500 CDN on my card I check what the rate is that day and ballpark it when figuring out what to deposit into one of my accounts. I am sure more prepaid CC companies are going to sprout given the current environment. Shop around for the best rates.

Do you know which poker sites use instadebit? Or do you know which payment/ withdrawel method is best on pokerroom (where I play).

HI Voodoo,
I'm new to real money poker on internet and would like to try it out soon but have a question for you though. I'm playing mostly on FullTilt and have decided to give my CAA prepaid mastercard a try. My question is the withdraw from FullTilt, the site states that the withdraw will not put back to the creditcard and we have to use one of the online wallet for the transaction. What's your experience on the withdraw from FullTilt and how do you handle the withdraw??

Most sites will send a cheque for WD if they cannot put it back on your CC.

Like hobbes said the cheque option is probably the way to go. All my withdrawals from poker or sportsbooks are cheques now, I don't mind having to wait for them to clear so I just deposit them.

Has anyone tried the VanCity (Citizens Bank) All access Prepaid Visa Card? You can load it up to $500 (fee: $2)

It appears to be quite accessible to buy and works on any site that accepts Visa.

Maybe another option for despositing?

Hi all,
Just want to give you all the update. I'd just tried to make a deposit with FullTilt using my CAA Prepaid Visa and it worked without any problem. The transaction went through smoothly and CAA Prepaid Visa didn't charge me extra (no handling fee) to deposit money in a gambling site. CAA only accepts deposit with Canadian dollar so you may be hit by the exchange rate in a bad day.
