Also moose with the "more rake is better" argument has me legitimately puzzled.
Nevermind the resulting tax haul after unburdening our oil and gas sector would make up all that money and then some... let's assume for a second we can only look at savings:
Approx 28 million tax payers in Canada x Proposed average savings of $900 each
= $25B to find.
15 seconds later... here is $25B from 2024 alone:
-$8B on Foreign aid.
-$12.4B in financial assistance to Ukraine.
-$4.5 in Military assistance to Ukraine.
I'm not saying that we can't help Ukrainian citizens or that they aren't in a tough situation...
But I argue that if it's such a hard line to reduce the rampant over-taxation at home, during a cost of living crisis,
Then we can't afford to do that either.
And keep in mind, that's only tip of the iceberg.
We spent $180B on EI and CERB through Covid...
We subsidize all kinds of retarded things to the tune of $15B+
And our ever increasing government Payroll is like $9B and counting.
Again: Just fix the damn spending.
*Also note that this 15% cut is not a flat 15%- it's applied to the lower bracket where it will have the biggest impact.
Last point: The CRA does accept donations... so should Pierre actually get it done I'll expect to see you make them whole 😆
