today I played live again finishing 3rd out of 64 runners in a 2100 SEK omaha tournament. At one point I had 1,1 million out of 1,7 million in play but unfortunately I still lost 4 all ins in a row to finish 3rd. Still a big score of 18450 kr or slightly north of 2000 dollars.
I am considering using this money to play the 1,1k two day omaha event in prague
Today has been a big day, I'm down a ton since christmas but I'm doing work getting some of that back today. I've already straight up shipped two tournaments, one 5 euro rebuy PLO and one 10 euro rebuy PLO8 both on Titan.
Right now I'm sitting 1/5 on a party 22 dollar PLO, 700 dollars up top
and
2/3 in a 10 dollar progressive KO on party, 635 dollars plus bounties up top, big session
Edit: unfortunately spent the rest of the night being unlucky, finishing 3rd in both the remaining tournaments, big step towards even tho
Today we're playing a lot of stuff. 2 online rankings for irish open. Sunday million becuause I feed like i have to, titan poker irish open sat, powerfest main, probably just the 22 but we'll see. I already won a seat into the IO main last week as well, my relationship to poker is a bit weird atm, gl today
Edit: Taking shots paying off, itm in the million with 386k
edit2: Still alive, sitting with 800k, 9 more levels for the day. Getting a day2 here would be increadible. I'll give that a 20% chance of happening
Edit3: Out after a couple of unfortunate hands, ended up 1010 v AQ aipf and before that I double barrelled QQ on a J high board vs two players, both players made a flush on me on the river which I didn't pay off, had the river bricked I would've been up to 1.3M chips, unfortunate
I'm fine with both players making a flush against me on that river, I didn't want to move my stack to 1.3 million chips and have an approximate equity of 12000 dollars in my stack anyway X____X
Started day1 with 30k, ended day1 with 206200 chips, very good run, day two tomorrow.
I have to rant tho... dealers need to enforce or at least know the rules of showdowns. I played a hand where I raised pre, BB defended, flop kj9 check check turn 6 bet call river 5 check check
Then this happens:
villain: queen high
me: ace high
V: you win
Me: ok
V: mucks hand
Me: ...
V: O___O you win
me: I know
V: ...
Me: ...
dealer: someone has to show a hand to claim the pot
Me: I know...
Dealer: ...
V: ...
Me: he's not allowed to muck
dealer: ...
Me: oh ffs call the floor
Dealer: ...
Dealer: floor?
Floor: he's not allowed to muck his hand
*floor flips over his q2o*
*I flip over my AQs feeling like literal Satan*
Seriously, understand and enforce the fucking rules if you are gonna deal the tournament, that was a lot of time wasted, if you don't like that rule then allow me to muck and win. In no way should I as player have to take social pressure to enforce basic rules, that's something the dealer needs to take upon himself
Sorry (this assumes I understand your explanation correctly) but in most places I have played in NA villain would not have had to show his hand, he can muck and give up claim to pot.. This, of course can be overruled by house rules.. What you did however is considered bad etiquette. No idea what the floor was doing in this case but I suspect there is more to this.
Pisses me off because how much can you really learn in a tournament environment where you likely won't see villain again.. Seems douchy... Sorry again Richard if I have missed something here..
i would be completely fine if the rules were that I as well could muck if he mucked, but the local rules is that I'm still forced to show even if I let him fold which means I'm just giving up free information. To me this means that I'd have to give up an edge that someone could easily take against me later in a similar spot meaning my EV of being polite will either be neutral or negative. I get that it's questionable ettiquette but it's also questionable ettiquette to when the dealer points your way and says "showdown" to verballa respond queen high trying to claim the pot and then when it seems no good try and toss in your hand face down.
And I did get a lot of info from this, we were playing at the same table for 7 hours straight, I suspected that he was defending way too light which was confirmed, I also got some information that he wasn't just randomly stabbing a 0 equity hand, I made a pretty exploitative bluff later on that probably gave me chips I wouldn't otherwise have gone for so I dunno, there's defenitely an edge to be had from seing what people head into the cookie jar with
edit: Just to clearify the rule. If after the river any player exposes his cards to claim the pot any other player is allowed to muck. if no player exposes his hand out of turn it's the first off the button that shows, and one has always need to be exposed in order to claim a pot, the ruling is always that out of position players are not allowed to fold if no hand is exposed. It's a bit weird to me but that's the rule
Certainly not standard rules here in NA... The order of showing is correct but the rule about him having to show if he gives up the hand makes no sense...
I don't know what to do in tournaments. In cash games I like to fast roll people to get the hand over with and to support etiquette. I'm not worried about showing hands.
fuck yes today is big buyin day. We won the casino sat this monday and today we're playing the 3 day event nordic masters at casino cosmopol, it's a 16.000 SEK aka 1900 dollar event with an hour clock. lets fucking go
I have a lot of food for thought after playing the event. I refuse to admit my table was tough, but they were tough enough so that if I didn't stick to my rangers I'd probably need to hit really well in all the plentiful aggro/3bet spots. to be fair I spent most of the 8 hours I played holding the botton half of my range in every spot more or less
Once again I feel like I need to structure some thoughts and goals and such and this is a nice place for me to come back to for that. I'll add some more details, maybe trip report for Tallinn etc when I have time but for now I just need to get some things out of my head and into writing. I hope you guys are doing well.
I'm taking a shot using some winnings from Tallinn, goal is to see if i can stabilize a live bankroll, to see if I can hit the casino high ranking finals and to play the upcoming special casino event "Oktoberkampen". the idea is to play 4 extra expensive tournaments then drop down to the still bankroll aggressive 600 SEK rebuy tournaments. It's a shot, we'll see which direction we can take this, I'm trying to sell some action to friends and such to lessen the hits while still going for ranking.
Today I'm playing the 5600 SEK super weekend, a ranking tournament with 80+ runners, super nervous but I'm ready for this, I'll try to stay at the forum for a bit and provide some poker content, lets see if we can run this shot in the right direction, either way I'm ready for this
It's good to be back, I think I fucked up but I'm gonna need to get 8 hours of sleep before breaking the hand down in my head. I played the 5,6k SEK event and afterwards played a 1500 SEK mini ranking event with added battle of malta packages which i cashed followed by some cashgames, overall for the night I'm back 4,5k SEK.
Anyway for the possible fuckup here's what I did:
- Open to 750 from our 30,5k stack, blinds 150/300 ante 25 with 89cc
- 5 people call taking a flop 6 ways because wtf
- flop Q72 two clubs
- SB checks, BB jams for his last 6,2k
- we call button calls SB jams covering us
- we again call and button goes I guess I can't fold and calls
showdown for a 100k pot
us: 89cc
SB: Q2o
BB: KQo
BU: 22
by some miracle I think between the three of them they barely blocked any clubs either, unfortunately turn runs the last queen in the deck and Q2o ends up scooping a massive pot after calling from the SB pre. In this spot we got it in quite good, but that's no the case if button can easily have our clubs dominated, the queen on the board was a club so QJcc and KQcc combos were not a thing but button can still have Axcc and KJ K10cc that has us destroyed. My logic was that when the short stack jams raising seems meh since I want as many people in as possible when I hit my flush but that logic leaves us open to being dominated.
My initial thoughts before going to sleep and looking at it later is that the multiway pot with the just over 1x pot shove on the flop has us in such an annoying spot that it's optimal to just fold to the initial jam, but I dunno... It was a tricky spot in my eyes and unfortunately that was the end of my 5k event
this doesn't reflect my current bankroll and I've had to spend money both online, my trip to Tallinn, my trip to visit my girlfriend who works in England over the summer and things outside of poker, finally started that savings account and put 20.000 into it, feels pretty good.
With a run like this all I can do is hope I have the ability and mental fortitude to keep it going now, so far for this project to stabilize our bankroll we're down about 6000 SEK but I believe I can turn it around if I just keep my head down and move forward, next post I promise will contain some kind of poker content
meh, gonna try to mark this down as positive but it's frustrating. I suppose I'm doing something right because I just finished 20th out of 5800 in a big field 2 dollar turbo on stars
In life when you find that one special hand that's right for you, don't let it slip away

I just finished the "Oktoberkampen" main event. In terms of field size stockholms largest tourment ever. Mon through wed was day 1abc and the finals was yesterday. I ended up getting 2nd/281 for 123.000 SEK which is easily bmy biggest win ever.
there were a lot of crazy hands including involuntary physical reactions that I've never experienced before. Most notably I ended up putting a guy all in for half of the chips in play with AQcc v AKo. Flop QQJ...turn 5...river 10 and I'm pretty sure I just bounced in my seat and made some sort of weird noise in pain, it was embarassing o__o
Anyway I managed to run godly and work my way back to eventually get outdrawn AKss v K10o heads up to finish second, super tempting to get on a plane to WSOP germany but lets not get crazy. Today I'll to a 2000 SEK turbo to detilt, and then I'm gonna reevaluate, amazing run
There were about a million fun hands from that tournament, how about some highway robbery?
Blinds 10k/20k ante 2k
button limps 20, SB calls 20
We from the BB say 85k with A9ss
button calls SB folds
Flop 1082 one spade
We cbet 80k, button announces 200k
We shove for 1,1M chips and he folds
I'm proud of this one, I'm sure he can eventually have a bluff here but I think as a typical live reg with a slightly inflated ego he's also clicking me back with a lot of marginal stuff like Q10 that he's too much of a coward to call off. How much serious value can there be on 1082 rainbow anyway =P
Worst comes to worst I just had to hit miracle miracle so it's all good

I am considering using this money to play the 1,1k two day omaha event in prague
- 5 euro rebuy PLO on titan for 302 euro
- 22 euro FO on titan for 368 euro
- 5 dollar rebuy PLO8 on stars for 268 dollars
All of them were straight up shipped, this whole building a bankroll to play half time thing seems to be off to a good start
I'm not gonna stop running hot anytime soon

Leading up to the Swedish championships in Tallinn I played quite a few tournaments, one week stands out a lot.
Tuesday we did this https://twitter.com/IR1chardI/status/1032278635913400320 taking down a 600 SEK rebuy tournament winning around 50.000 SEK
